Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain

Tianmen Mountain (formerly known as Songliang Mountain, Yunmeng Mountain, also known as Yuping Mountain). Tianmen Mountain is located at No. 11 Dayong Middle Road, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, and is part of the eastern extension of the Wuling Mountain Range into the Dongting Lake Plain. The total area of the Tianmen Mountain tourist area is 96 square kilometers, with the mountain top area reaching 2 square kilometers. Tianmen Mountain has an altitude of 1518.6 meters and belongs to the eastern extension of the Yunwu Mountain branch of the Yungui Plateau in the Wuling Mountain Range. It extends from north to east and is distributed in the northwest of Hunan. Among them, there are more than 200 peaks with an altitude of over 1000 meters. The Tianmen Mountain protection area has a mid-subtropical mountain monsoon humid climate, and the mountain top area has an alpine climate. Tianmen Mountain has rich vegetation, with a forest coverage rate of over 80%, and about 500 acres of original secondary forest preserved on the mountain top. There are naturally distributed vascular plants of 134 families, 353 genera, and 532 species. Tianmen Mountain is a natural medicinal field, with more than 200 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines. Tianmen Mountain is also an ideal habitat for wild animals, with dozens of main animal species. The scenic areas are distributed as Tianmen Cave Scenic Area, Tianjie Buddha Kingdom Scenic Area, Biyue Yaotai Scenic Area, and Mixian Wonderland Scenic Area. The main attractions include the Bagua Array, Mu Guiying Commanding Platform, Tianmen Mountain Cableway, etc. Tianmen Mountain is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie and also the cultural holy land of Zhangjiajie, honored as the "Soul of Zhangjiajie" and known as the "First Divine Mountain in Western Hunan". It is a national 5A-level tourist area and has many honors such as "One of the 50 Places in China Most Worth Visiting by Foreigners", "One of the Most Desirable Places in China", "New Eight Scenic Spots of Hunan", "Top 100 Self-driving Tour Scenic Spots in China", and "Top Ten Scenic Spots Most Concerned by Chinese Netizens".
