I tackled the legendary Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and it was an unforgettable odyssey! This 19.4km trek wound through a surreal landscape of volcanic peaks, emerald lakes, and rusty red terrain. The challenging climb was rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt. Ngauruhoe (aka Mt. Doom) and the surrounding wilderness. The ever-changing scenery, from alpine meadows to rocky ridges, kept me enthralled. This hike is a must-do for adventure-seekers and Lord of the Rings fans alike!

The Snout in NZ
#newzealandtrip Absolutely stunning! Magnificent scenery.
The view from the tip of the snout was worth the time and energy. You can walk 50 minutes to the Snout lookout and can stop there and turnaround. Trail is well-marked and in good shape. Just make sure to take a little extra water. The road to the car-park was temporarily closed. I parked at Endeavour Park. You can go around the gate on foot or bicycle. There are several trails that intersect/parallel this one and accommodate bicycles as well as foot traffic. It is not wheel-chair friendly. Overall, it’s all worth it!
Wharariki Beach
#newzealandtrip A nice beach with a 20 minute walk from the car park through rolling green hills to the beach. We were there for sunset and it was beautiful with the rocks silhouetted by the setting sun. Good to go there when tide is lower so you can get into the cave from which the windows photo is taken. Also nice sand dunes and can spot some seals. Highly recommended😊

Addington Coffee Co-op

Really big space. Best french toast l've ever had and I've had heaps. The high didn't last for long as the lamb sausage roll was extremely dry and hard.
Couldn't cut through it and biting it was leathery.
Drinks were all fine and at the right temperature.
Service and atmosphere were just fine, it's quite dark. Lots of other chch cates I'll be heading to next time before returning here.

Belle Cafe
#newzealandtrip
Fantastic breakfast. The staff were amazing and the cabinet food was well above what I was expecting. Portions were huge!! My one suggestion is to improve the chicken filo by making it creamier and removing the pine nuts inside. I wasn't expecting that consistency when taking a bite.
Would definitely return next time we're in Christchurch.
☺️☺️☺️
