Highlights: Ni Mountain is southeast of Qufu, Jining. According to historical records, it is the birthplace of Confucius. Previously called Niqiu Mountain, it was renamed Ni Mountain to avoid using Confucius' given name, Qiu. The scenic area is home to the Confucian Temple and Nishan Institute. The temple has a history of more than 1000 years. There are more than ten stelae for the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties and the Republican period inside and outside the temple, making it the place to learn about Ni Mountain and its history.
