Anturen Ruins

The Antu site is located in Shimen Mountain on the banks of the Burhatong River, south of Mingyue Town, Antu County. In 1963, lime factory workers found the Antu cave in quarry. In May 1964, a fossil of ancient human teeth was found in the cave. Archaeologists named the Antu, a late Homo sapiens. From the fossils unearthed in the cave, the animal resources of the area were abundant at the time. Antu is the only ancient human site found in Changbai Mountains.
