The Black Church

The "Black Church" is an ancient building known throughout the country. It is the largest Catholic church in Transylvania. It was built in the 1st century and has a late Gothic architectural style. It was burned in 1689 and the stone walls were blackened. After reconstruction, the exterior walls were still black, and the "Black Church" was named. The church contains a collection of ancient oriental tapestries and large pipe organ built in the second half of the 19th century, which is still available today.

Right in the heart of the old town, landmark buildings can be seen at a glance from Tampa Hill and White Tower. The church looks pretty good too, with a beautiful bell tower, but we just caught up with the maintenance when we went and couldn't get inside to visit. Off-season travel is really easy to catch up with the correction, at least 2 churches are under maintenance. The early spring is still a bit cold, there is a sense of depression, behind the church is a school, every day after class and lively.

The Black Church was built in 1383 and lasted nearly 100 years, and was finally built in 1477. The church is 89 meters long, 38 meters wide and 65 meters high. The building is magnificent, the structure is well-symmetrical, the walls are black, and it has a late Gothic architectural style. The Black Church is named after a fire sparked by an uprising in 1689, with many round holes on the exterior wall, thought to be bullet holes, which were specially made for repairing the building. The Black Church contains 119 Anatolian carpets from Turkey and large organ built in the second half of the 19th century, the world's second largest organ, with more than 4,000 tubes, which was playing when we entered, and sat down and listened for a while.

Very Hongda! From the square, the visual impact is very strong, the whole black, and the whole city can be heard when the bell is ringing. After the vicissitudes, I have been repaired many times and changed a lot of stone materials in the main structure. The nearby square is very good. It looks like the most lively place in the city.

Located next to the Grand Plaza in the city center, it looks very majestic, but the interior decoration is quite simple and humble. Watching the huge organ, imagine how shocking the praise song played by the organ will be. There are two big cockroaches in the church, there are many pictures and three texts to explain the history and status of this church. It is worth seeing. Tickets 10Lei, 20 RMB.
