Mawangdui Han Tombs

Ma Wangdui Han Tomb, located in Mawangdui Street next to Liuyang River, four kilometers from the eastern suburbs of Furong District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, is the family cemetery of Changsha State Leadership and Minhou Licang in the early days of the West Han Dynasty. The tomb has unearthed a total of more than 3,000 relics such as a well-preserved female body, coffin, silk fabric, book, painting, lacquerware, Chinese herbal medicine and other relics. The discovery of Ma Wangdui Han Tomb provides important information for studying the burial system, the development of crafts and science and technology in the early Han Dynasty, and the history, culture and social life of Changsha.
