Kuixing Building

This is a place of calligraphy and books that has seen the vicissitudes of life. It is an ancient building that has been famous since the Qing Dynasty. It is a cradle of Chengde culture that has spanned two centuries. Kuixing Tower was built in the eighth year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, that is, in 1828. It was built by Hai Zhong, the first governor of Chengde. The original building stood on the top of Banbi Mountain. It was a three-room hard-roofed mud-tile hall, which was destroyed due to years of disrepair. The newly built Kuixing Tower is located on the original Banbi Mountain, covering an area of ​​more than 100 acres. The building scale is much larger than the original building. It was officially opened to the public on the Dragon Boat Festival in 1997. The whole group of buildings is colorful, magnificent, and follows the terrain of the mountain. It is currently a national 3A tourist attraction.

The Attraction dares to innovate, and has added many new inspirations with rich cultural connotations on the basis of the original culture, passing on the content of our country's traditional culture to the younger generation in a new way. The main scenic spots of Kuixing Tower are distributed in the square garden area, palace area and garden greening area: there are Longmen, Zhongdou Palace, 72 blessed places, Rongshi Lezhen Hall, Hongwen Hall, Kuixing Main Building, Chengtian Terrace, Congming Spring, and the mountain-circling plank road.

The main architectural complexes in the Attraction interpret the characteristics of the Attraction, "one mountain, one leader, and ten sages", from both the cultural and natural aspects.

"One mountain" refers to Banbi Mountain. The main building of Kuixing Tower is built against the mountain, integrating architectural art with nature; "One Kui" refers to Kuixing, who is in charge of literary fortune in Chinese legends, and also implies the brilliant development of culture in Attraction area; "Ten Sages" refers to the Eight Immortals of "Fu, Lu, Cai, An, Shou, Xi, Le, Hehe" and the two saints of literature and martial arts Confucius and Guan Yu located in the scenic area. The ten sages correspond to the ten stars in the sky respectively. This saying comes from the ancient people's worship of the celestial universe. This is a kind of inheritance of traditional wisdom.

Among them, Rongshi Lezhen Hall is the east and west side halls, enshrining eight stone statues of "Longevity, Joy, Happiness, Harmony" and "Blessing, Wealth, Fortune, and Peace" respectively. They are painted with images, exquisitely carved and unique.

Hongwen Hall is an important group of buildings in the scenic area, which is cleverly connected by the front stele corridor and the mountain climbing corridors on both sides. The hall selects 68 influential thinkers, writers, artists, scientists and other celebrities in Chinese history, and selects the essence of their lives, and engraves them on the stele with images and brief achievements. There is also a large-scale imitation mahogany scene wood carving above the stele, recording 11 examples of hard study in ancient my country, such as "hanging from the beam to study hard" and "borrowing light from the wall". There are also 16 Kuixing cultural characteristic steles in the hall. The whole group of carvings constitutes a brilliant historical picture scroll that inspires future generations and inspires progress.

The 800-meter-long wall surrounding the Kuixing Tower Scenic Area is made of tiger-skin wall stones and blue bricks, winding along the cliff like a giant dragon, reflecting the main building and enhancing the momentum of the landscape.

Kuixing Tower has a strong Chinese national style and local cultural characteristics. It is part of the splendid Chinese cultural heritage and an important participant in the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.
