Mu Mansion was originally the hereditary official residence of the Mu family in Lijiang, 'slightly established in the Yuan dynasty, flourished in the Ming dynasty'. The main building was started by Mu De (1382 ~1390) during the Ming dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1998, and an ancient town museum was established within the mansion. Mu Mansion fully reflects the style and temperament of Central Plains architecture from the Ming dynasty, while also retaining the simple and rugged charm of the architecture from the Tang and Song dynasties. The layout of the mansion, with its crisscrossing channels and flowing water, also testifies to the spirit of the traditional Naxi culture.
