Wat Manolom

The Manolong Temple was built in 1375 by the son of King Faen. There is only one huge bronze Buddha left in the temple. It is not calculated as a base, up to 6 meters high, weighs 12 tons, and was cast in 1372. The Manolong Temple is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang, although the landscape is not very striking. There is a bronze Buddha sitting in the town of Luang Prabang.

The temple, which is not very impressive in appearance, is the oldest in Luang Prabang, but there are still doubts about its time of construction, some people think it was built by Samsenthai in 1372 or 1375, and others think it was built during the reign of 92. Inside the temple is a bronze Buddha of the town of Luang Prabang, 6 meters high, weighing 2 tons, and 15 cm thick local cast copper, which dates back to 1372.

This is the last monastery visited in Luang Prabang, and later I learned that this is the oldest monastery in Luang Prabang. I was fortunate not to miss it. The ancient bronze Buddha is so high, and there are super long dragon boats in the temple.

Located at Ban Mano, 15- 20 minutes walking from night market or Luang Prabang old town. temple looks great, large and free entrance.
