Vijay Vilas Palace palace was built during reign of Maharao Shri Khengarji III, the Maharao of Kachchh, as a summer resort for the use of his son & heir to the kingdom, the Yuvraj Shri Vijayaraji and is therefore, named after him as Vijaya Vilas Palace.Scenes from the Bollywood movies Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, and Commando as well as a number of Gujarati films, were filmed in the palace.

Vijaya Vilas Palace is a summer palace of Jadeja Maharao of Kutch located on the beach of Mandvi in Kutch, Gujarat, India.The Vijay Vilas Palace is open to tourists from 9 AM to 1 PM & 3PM to 6PM. The beach resorts and accommodations are open throughout the day though.
