Manila Chinese Cemetery

This cemetery is different from other cemeteries I have been to. The rows of houses are combined like a community. The history of this cemetery is also very interesting. Some people live here and they are the gatekeepers of these family graves. The best moment is the Halloween, where food carts are everywhere and the streets are crowded with people who remember the dead from all over the place. Manila is crowded, but there are places that are often overlooked by tourists, and my first choice for visiting the city is Ayala, the Spanish King City and the Chinese Cemetery. They reflect the uniqueness of Manila. The US military memorial cemetery is nice and moving, but in a way similar to Arlington National Cemetery. But the Chinese cemetery is very different, the various mausoleums (a few in traditional Chinese style) look like real houses, with restaurants, bathrooms, etc. so that families can gather around their ancestors more easily. Some people come to visit often, and even a dog is guarding it!

It is a Chinese cemetery living in Manila, facing the direction of the motherland, full of the feeling of homesickness, hoping that the leaves will return to their roots. From afar, it looks more like a high-end residential area, with both villas and some quite luxurious pavilions and buildings. This Chinese apartment is located close to Manila Chinatown, the street is full of Chinese signs, the most heard in Chaozhou dialect.

There is a saying in the Philippines: "Never been to the overseas Chinese Yishan, equal to never been to Manila". Visited the newly refurbished temple at its original site. Crisscrossed to find the tomb of Mr. Ma Mon Luk. Better time to visit as there are few people about

a must visit place. Great architectural structures.

I came here on foot, and I have been walking through the market and residential areas to this Chinese cemetery. Looking at the most grassroots life of the locals along the way, the environment is a bit unsatisfactory, and the surrounding environment is a bit poor and smelly. Going into the Chinese Cemetery is another scene. There are houses like resorts that seem to have some history and are still magnificent. If you don't know in advance that it is a grave, you really think it is a resort. The environment is very good in the local area. It is impossible to imagine that there is such a scene in such a place, and the contrast between walking through residential areas and coming here is too big. What is the concept of living people living in a environment far less good than the environment where the "dead people" live? It is not difficult to see how rich and powerful Chinese people are in the local area, but in fact, as a Chinese, it is still very proud!
