The fortress was originally a Portuguese chapel built in memory of the Baptist. The Dutch rebuilt it as a fortress in the 18th century, making it an important fort for the defense of the ancient city of Malacca. Only a few ruins and forts remain to this day.
The castle, built by Portuguese colonists, has been around for at least 500 years. The geographical discovery of the West led Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands to the Indian Ocean and the Malay Peninsula.
very nice place. historical places. like the environment.
It is a very nice tourist destination.
The first bullet for New Year's Eve 2020 trip ~ Malacca, Malaysia. The ancient fort of Malacca is in the center of Malacca, the location is very good, just on the banks of the Malacca River, opposite the Dutch Red Fort, the ancient fort covers a small area, and the artillery above the fort is facing the Malacca River, as if quietly describing the past colonial history.
The biggest drawback of St John's Castle is that it is located outside the heritage area, just there is no public transport unless you drive or take a taxi yourself. From the fort, it is the patron saint and guard of the Netherlands. Malacca is the oldest state in Malaysia and it is easy to find monuments.
