The Church of Santo Yosef Pontianak, which was originally a station status, then changed to the mission-master church in West Kalimantan due to its strategic location. After the prefect Pastor Pacificus officially lived in Pontianak, the Paroki Katedral Santo Yosef played a central role for mission works that covers the whole Kalimantan. As a church of the church, the civil construction activities and sakramental services were the main works. In addition to carrying pastoral works, the church also engages in charity and social works such as building schools, hostels and hospitals.
One of the epic and artsy buildings in the city of Pontianak. You can stop by if you go to Pontianak just to admire the architecture if you don't have mass.It is said that it is the largest Catholic church in Southeast Asia. bhhhh
The place is big, the parking lot is spacious and indoor. Inside it is comfortable, spacious, and there is also a 2nd floor. The people are friendly and orderly. There is air conditioning and screens as well for the 1st and 2nd floors. bfgcvg
There are 2 lots in the northern wall of this huge cathedral that listed down all the people who contributed their charity to build it.A roughly calculation of almost 1,000 names of people, foundations, commercial corporations, plus NN or anonymous people could be read.So it is part of the community efforts 👍👍👍This hopefully also be the example of how we as a huge community could help the most important part of the church herself: the less fortunate people. sjsbsjsj
Inaugurated with a new building since the end of December 2014. The church is in the style of a typical church in Europe with ornate religious images. The architecture is very classic, there are several small domes and there is a main dome. The basement is used as a parking space for vehicles and other purposes. cxvb
