到湄洲岛这样美美的地方怎能不去沙滩上放肆一番呢，最推九宝澜黄金沙滩了，位于湄洲岛西南突出部，被誉为“天下第一滩”。前临碧波万顷，后枕绿茵千畴。这就是岛上有名的金海岸，金色的沙滩绵延数公里，宽敞平坦。沙子细腻纯净，沙滩宽敞平坦，是个很理想的天然浴场，且属于免费景点，绝对值得一去。岛上的3条公交都要到黄金沙滩，1、2路公交的下一站就是鹅尾神石园，可顺道游览。到黄金沙滩游览，最好时辰是早晨和黄昏，可以看到大海吞吐日月的壮观景象，此时日照不强，不用担心防晒，尤其是黄昏，很多景点都关门不能去，而这里是开放式景区随便游览。但天黑就没公交了，只能坐观光电瓶车，这是民营的，最好上岛后找个固定的电瓶车记下司机的手机号，到时需要的话可以打电话叫他接送，是按人收费，一般10元左右，但旺季估计价格更高，可先讲好价。黄金沙滩周围有很多旅店，条件不太好，不要相信客栈说的海景房的概念哦。我们网上定的湄洲岛望海日度假宾馆，就在妈祖庙前面，湄洲岛宫下村妈祖小学前80米。住在这无论交通还是观景都很不错。望海日宾馆是独立舒适的4层小洋房，有多间海景房，网上预定的话海景房的标间在300元左右，普通标间在200元，当然这是平日的价格，个人觉得睡觉舒适而已，有无海景都不重要，白天还可以到沙滩上慢慢看海。
