Alamo Square

阿拉莫广场是旧金山西部的一个住宅区和公园， 阿拉莫广场公园位于一个小山顶，可以俯瞰旧金山市中心的大部分地区，周边有许多建筑风格独特的豪宅，包括著名的“彩绘女士”。 阿拉莫山以一棵孤独的三叶杨树（西班牙语为“alamo”）命名。

The green grassy hilltop is one of the best photography spots. On the east side of Steiner Street there are a group of Queen Ann architecture-style houses known as the "postcard scene", which are the signature San Francisco architecture. In contrast, the row of "postcard scenes" stands behind the skyscraper financial district. The Alamo Plaza was opened as a park in 1856. The pleasing building attracts visitors to San Francisco.

A bit crowded but we were lucky enough to find parking on the side of the road. Great views of the city. Unless you want to stroll around the park outside, there is no need to do it again. There are lots of strange-looking sculptures sitting on benches. Here to see the beautiful woman painted in color, take a photo and leave.

The neighborhood surrounding the park is called the Alamo Square neighborhood. Its boundaries are not clear, but it is generally considered east to Webster Street (Webster Street), north to Golden Gate Avenue (Golden Gate Avenue), west to Divisadero Street, south to Oak Street.

My daughter was keen to see the painted lady (six sister buildings) she had read in her book, so we went to Alamo Plaza on the last morning of the trip. The park is charming and the beautiful Victorian architecture on four streets adds a great view to the city. There is a dog park in the center of the square so there are lots of activities and great dogs for dog lovers. Even walking slowly through the square doesn’t take long, about 30 to 45 minutes to finish.

On the east side of Alamo Square, there is a group of Queen Anne-style houses, which won the top camera award of San Francisco tourist attractions. They are known as "Postcard Scenery Collection". They are the signs of San Francisco architecture, and the local people are affectionately called "Six Sisters". In stark contrast, behind this row of "postcard scenery" stands the Financial District of skyscrapers. Six Victorian two-storey dwellings have the same style, the same volume and different colors. These six houses are the only unaffected house in San Francisco after the magnitude 8 earthquake in 1906. They are one of the few well-preserved classical buildings in San Francisco. They have become tourist attractions. So far, the house is still inhabited.
