Jeju Folk Village

The Jeju Folk Village Museum displays more than 100 traditional Korean houses, which preserve the real life of the local people in Jeju Island. You can see the furniture, living utensils, farming and fishing utensils used by people at that time. In addition, in different villages, you can also participate in folk activities here, such as pot throwing, marbles and Jeju Yutz games. There is nothing more famous here than the filming location of the popular Korean drama "Dae Jang Geum". There is a TV drama filming area at the entrance of the folk village, and the scenes in it describe the life of Dae Jang Geum's medical girl in Jeju Island. Each set has photos and a signboard with the content of the series, and visitors can take group photos. After entering from the entrance, the first thing to visit is the mountain village. The people who live here mainly make a living by animal husbandry and hunting. Next is the Zhongshan Village, which has a Korean pharmacy, a horsetail craft room, a bamboo craft room, a book hall, an iron shop and a clan, etc. There are several pavilions, and the main exhibits include charcoal kilns, pedal flour mills and cribs and other utensils that people lived in at that time. Especially worth mentioning is the Zongbang, which used to be a place for traditional Korean weddings, but now allows tourists to wear Hanbok and take pictures. In addition, there is a horse riding field next to Zhongshan Village. Next to Zhongshan Village is the fishing village, where the home of the ancient sea girls is restored, and the fishing gear exhibition hall lists the fishing tools they used at that time. If you are tired of shopping, you can watch a folk performance at the folk performance field in front of the market. There are three performances a day. The performance times are 11:30, 13:30 and 15:30, each time for half an hour. After watching the performance, you can visit the Shamanic Belief Village and the Yingmen area. The belief village mainly shows the local people's belief in the gods, while the Yingmen area restores the office of the Jeju shepherd.
