Taoyuan Daxi Zhongzheng Park was built in the Japanese period, when there were Daxi Shrine, Zhonghou Hall, Sumo Wrestling Field, Guild Hall and other Japanese-style buildings, the former shrine was later converted to the current Chaoran Pavilion, and the sumo Wrestling Field was changed to a lotus fountain and changed to a performance square in 2006. The round sumo field is an important space in the Japanese rule period. There are 4 floors of seats around, and the layers are concave. Early public school children are here to try sumo. It is a grand event in Daxi Street and a common memory of the older generation of Daxi people. In 2017, Taixingye and Japan Dajin Air Conditioning spent more than 5 million yuan to build a sumo pavilion, which was piled high in the central to form a circular earthen platform, combined with the surrounding four stands, using trees for the audience to shade, and forming a concentric circle space as a whole. The appearance of this newly built sumo pavilion is referenced as a blueprint design of the "hand water house" in the loyal martyr's house in Hutoushan Park in Taoyuan. The main structures such as columns and beams are all made of wood. There is a strong aroma of teak wood on the spot. Please ask the local professional woodworking teacher in Daxi for guidance. The wood joint is made by riveting, and the appearance of the sumo pavilion will not see any traces of steel nail construction. After the wooden work is completed, the roof is covered with copper tiles, so that the Tang-style sumo pavilion sets off the scenery of Daxi Old Street.

Tahi Sumo is the stage of Japanese sumo wrestling competition, very interesting, the buildings left in ancient times are very intriguing, you must have a chance to see it!
The outdoor "Daxi Sumo Wrestling Field" in Taoyuan City was completed and the opening ceremony was held on September 17. This newly built sumo pavilion is the only sumo field structure in Taiwan during the Japanese period (Japanese colonial rule). It is also the first outdoor sumo pavilion in Taiwan. You can bring children here to experience sumo. It feels very fresh.
