Jingyuan, established in 1921, is located at No. 70 Anshan Road, Heping District, Tianjin (formerly Miyajima Street in the Japanese Concession). Originally named Qianyuan, it was the private residence of Lu Zongyu, the Beiyang Government's envoy to Japan. From 1929 to 1931, the last emperor Puyi lived here with Empress Wanrong and Consort Wenxiu, renaming it 'Jingyuan', which means to observe the situation quietly and wait for the opportunity.
