Taman Sari: A Journey Through Java's Royal Past
#indonesiatrip
I recently visited Taman Sari in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and was enchanted by this beautiful water palace. Built in the 18th century as a pleasure garden for the Sultan, it's a stunning example of Javanese architecture and design. The intricate stone carvings, ornate gates, and serene water features create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. I loved exploring the various pools, pavilions, and passageways, imagining the royal family's lavish lifestyle. The underground tunnels and secret chambers added an air of mystery and adventure. The surrounding gardens and lotus ponds were equally breathtaking. Taman Sari is a must-visit attraction in Yogyakarta, offering a glimpse into the region's rich history and cultural heritage. It's a truly unforgettable experience!
The water palace in Yogyakarta is small but has a unique style. The royal garden, European-style architecture, designed and built by the Portuguese. Open at 9 o'clock in the morning and it is worth punching in. The water palace is close to the palace and can be walked.
The water palace is not large, there is no magnificent appearance, but it is elegant, with a clear feminine beauty. The second floor of the water palace building has beds for rest, and the overall layout is simple and practical.
Taman Sari has a history related to Prince Mangkubumi or Sultan Hamengku Buwono I, the founder of the Yogyakarta Palace.
Water Palace famous for its Instagram photo spot. It was said that if you have a camera, you will receive more money, but you only paid the entrance fee.
Taman Sari consisted of four distinct areas: a large artificial lake with islands and pavilions located in the west, a bathing complex in the centre, a complex of pavilions and pools in the south, and a smaller lake in the east. Today only the central bathing complex is well preserved, while the other areas have been largely occupied by the Kampung Taman settlement.
