It is a temple of the Soto sect designated as the 7th Chichibu Kannon Sacred Ground. The precincts have a wide and calm atmosphere, and there is a large main hall in front of it, which is said to have been designed by Hiraga Gennai, but the entrance is a unique structure with a left side.
