Fuguo Temple

The first month of the Qing Tongzhi Jiazi year (1864) was destroyed in the army and fire, and Guangxu eight years (1882) was rebuilt. The original temple public housing five courtyards, the monk housing eighteen courtyards. Among them, the "Wufeng Building" (also known as "Fayun Pavilion") building is extremely exquisite and has a reputation at home and abroad. [2] About ten kilometers northwest of Lijiang, there is a beautiful scenery and simple folk customs of the town of Baisha ancient town. Behind the ancient town is a mountain called Zhishan, the mountains are green pine trees, the grass fans, wild flowers bloom, and birds stop. Between the ancient trees, an ancient temple Fuguo Temple can be seen vaguely.

Fuguo Temple, Tibetan name Aomin Nanzhuolin, means "color is the sky free forest." Located in Baisha Township, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, it was built in the Ming Dynasty in Wanli 29 years (1601), originally the family temple of Mu's toast, and the temple was practiced by the Han Dynasty Mahayana Buddhist monks, the temple was called "Free Forest", and then the Ming Dynasty Zongzhu was given the name "Fuguo Temple" by the school. In 18 years (1679 AD), Kangxi was converted into Tibetan Buddhism. It is the "mother temple" of the five major temples in Lijiang. It is the largest Karma-yu monastery in Yunnan. Successive Karmapa, Dasitu Rinpoche and Kacha Rinpoche have lived here in Xiyu Fa, and Dharma is very prosperous. The tenth-century Karmapa Chaindoje, who has been abbot of the Fuguo Temple for 30 years, is an important Taoist venue for Karmapa. There are many sacred sites and cultural relics about Karmapa activities in the temple.

The scenery is great. The temple is very beautiful. It may be psychological reasons. I feel that the atmosphere here is different from other places. I like it. I can come here to pray. I heard that the reputation here is good. But remember not to take pictures of the temple.

Only the gate building of "Wufeng Building" and "Free Forest" was retained, and moved to Heilongtan Park in Lijiang City in 1979, and was listed as a key protected cultural relics in Yunnan Province for visitors to see.

Fuguo Temple is located on the mountain behind Baisha Ancient Town, which can be reached by bicycle. If it is not self-driving, there is no need to charter a car at all. The temple is a typical combination of Tibetan Buddhism and local culture. The architectural style is four corners and eights, and the very right bucket arch structure looks magnificent.

I accidentally found it on the way to Wenhai through Baisha Ancient Town. It should be Tibetan Buddhism, Jingyu, blue sky, snowy mountains, grassland, all factors are complete. It is not easy to walk, especially after the ancient town, there is a village closed the road, and it took a long time to arrive.
