PPengguna Tetamu: The hotel is within walking distance of Zhongshan Square, about 10-15 minutes away. There is a Lawson convenience store on the ground floor, along with several eateries nearby.
As others have mentioned, the hotel occupies only a few floors (34 to 39, if I remember correctly) of this tall tower, which has more than 50 floors. The corridors and rooms look new and are comfortable, thanks to the staff's good maintenance. The only downside is that, because other hotels and businesses are also located in the building, the six lifts have to be shared. Fortunately, I did not experience long waiting times, except on the day I checked out, when I had to wait for three or four lifts before I could finally get on one. The lifts felt a little shaky at times, although that may just have been my impression given that they travel to such high floors.
As for breakfast, the selection was not extensive, but it was sufficient for me. The staff were also pleasant and friendly. The two ladies at reception who checked me in and out were prompt, efficient, and polite. I was a little surprised, however, when one of the reception staff told me that there was not much to do in Dalian after I asked for recommendations on places to visit one day.
