I was at Torrejon Air Base for a conference, and I booked this hotel as it was the recommended choice; reviews looked OK too. Check in was easy; I was able to park my car outside as it was quiet and was able to sort out car parking at the same time too for 15 euros per night in the underground facility. Easy. Might be worth booking ahead though once busier times return. From the large central atrium (which has reception, a car hire franchise, lots of sofas, the bar and the evening dining room), there are three lifts to take your to your room. The current regulations are one person per lift, unless with friends or family. My room was a standard one, but more than adequate for me. It was clean, as was the bathroom, comfortable bed, easily sufficient storage area and a safe. Toiletries provided, and no issues with hot water. I didn't use the TV, and wifi was kind of average. Not much to sit on though, a chair by the desk, and really that was it. The top floor has the terrace; I was able to enjoy sitting up there one evening after work, but the bar was closed and on one afternoon, the terrace was actually all locked up. I guess this is all part of everything not being quite normal yet in these COVID times. Breakfast was sufficient. The dining room was laid out to try and maintain COVID compliance. So, a couple of cereal varieties, two types of pastry, do-nuts, toast, some fresh fruit and yoghurt, and the usual fare of cheese and cold meat. One coffee machine which was super-slow. But the staff worked hard to keep everything stocked, useful on my second morning as there was a conference on in the hotel and breakfast was really busy. I didn't use the bar or have dinner in the hotel. I never found if there was a fitness centre either, but the hotel is well positioned for running in the local area. Which brings me on to the best feature of the hotel; it's location. It is situated about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Alcala de Henares, a delightful town with history and a great selection of bars and places to eat. I was so glad I stayed here rather than central Madrid for a work trip: better value, less crowded; less traffic (although the adjacent A2 Madrid - Zaragoza highway is really really busy at rush hour) and has enough to see and places to eat / drink at the end of a working day. It's only 25 minutes from the airport too, making it really convenient, especially if you're working at Torrejon. And for those reasons, I'd happily stay here again.
