Hotel Dengan Sarapan pagi di Daerah Selatan, Sri Lanka

實在是一言難盡的體驗，怪不得也沒多少國人入住。 酒店屬於本地的連鎖酒店，雖然在攜程上打的是5星級，酒店牆壁貼滿tripadvisor sgs等認證，加上是bawa設計的遺作 但入住後實在強差人意 入住的時候剛好碰上小高峯，同時間好幾團旅遊團辦理入住，前台顯得有點手忙腳亂。所幸的護照行李等也沒有弄亂，安全的拿到房卡。 酒店面積有點大，前台所在的大樓實屬5🌟，bawa的功力放在50年前絕對是劃時代的作品。 但一離開酒店主樓，就彷彿去了另外一個酒店，年代感撲面而來。尤其是中間那草坪看着像prison yard。草坪毫無修飾，坑坑窪窪 邊上有幾衹野狗在遊蕩。 進入房間後不過不失，但與主樓相比最多就值個3🌟但由於非常接近海邊故住在二樓地面也會無緣無故泛潮。雖然酒店在2019完成翻新但房間的設施也非常不合邏輯。 整個房間衹有一個空出來的電源插座，其餘的都是插上了燈 燒水壺 電視等設備。天花燈的開關非常有趣，左邊床的開關控制右邊床的燈。 入住的時候也帶娃去了小童樂園，就是國內商場那種室內小童樂園但裏面的維護實在不敢恭維，最可怕的是連電箱蓋子打開也沒人管 如果放在老美早就給人控告賠錢 餐飲方面不算貴但口味不在線。不過有一説一這邊的服務員比較local貼地，可能因為酒店大多數都是本地客多。整個酒店白人亞洲人住下來吃早飯碰到的10個都不到。跟之前住的anatara有明顯區別，那邊可能歐美客户多，員工都習慣了什麼都tiptiptiptip，bentota這邊的比較真誠

We visited during off-season, so there were very few other guests. The first morning we had an unusual ”set” breakfast, which was understandable as no buffet was offered when there were so few guests. Water pressure/temperature was unstable and there was a weird pulsating noise in the bathroom. On the positive side, the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. It's a lovely estate in absolute terms and stunning in relative terms. Very near the trendy fort area, which is worth a visit. Overall pleased.

Overall, it was an enjoyable stay although in some respects it was inferior to other hotels I stayed in on the holiday. The pools were great and so was the view from the room. The room itself was alright - quite basic but sufficient. We did have problems with a leak in the ceiling which was promptly addressed by staff but still a little annoying. In general the staff were lovely: in particular Chamindu in the restaurant, a security guard who called me and my partner over to show us turtles on the beach (sorry, can't remember his name) and the guy working the sunloungers at the lower pool. The weakest part was probably the food. It wasn't bad exactly, it was just worse than the food in all the other hotels I stayed in.

Bungalow was well appointed. Plug sockets where not all working. Side lamp was held together with sellotape and did not work. Staff were helpful and polite. There was some delay on check-in while the room was prepared. Queried were dealt with professionally. Short power cuts were experienced while in the restaurant and a candle lamp was provided, which the exploded on the table. No one was injured. Food was well presented and cooked fresh. Evening curry had one dish which proved unexpectedly hot. Overall an enjoyable stay in pleasant surroundings.

Our last stop in Sri Lanka, for 5 days, before going to Colombo. The hotel environment is really nice and the pool is big enough so our child got to swim nonstop. Nonetheless, the hotel room, even though it was spacious, had some defaults: the curtains didn't close completely so the blackout is just a waste. We stayed on the first floor, with garden view, so the bathroom was very big but there was no separation between the toilette and the shower which meant that every time we used it, there was water everywhere. We asked if we could change but apparently all the rooms on the 1st floor are like that and the 2nd floor rooms were more expensive. Moreover, the food was a bit of an issue for us: we were aware we were going off-season but the main restaurant was always closed for midday (for our entire stay) and the menu they offered on the restaurant above the lobby area was mainly fast food or very spicy food, which was problematic with our child. On that note, and if you don't like spicy food, make sure to ask a hundred times if it's not spicy. The night we arrived we ordered pizza and spaghetti bolognese - and asked for it not to be spicy - and both things were unetable. Who makes a super spicy spaghetti bolognese? The pizza was supposed to be a chicken one but it was also very spicy. We ended up eating some snacks, we brought with us, in the room. The breakfast buffet was good, specially if there were lots of guests, and the dinner was OK: again, they didn't have a lot of non spicy choices for chicken or fish. Everything is quite spicy even though they say it is not (I guess we just don't have the same level of tolerance for spicy food). Overall the hotel is not bad but it could be better, specially if it is rated as a 5 stars hotel. The room needs some renewal and the bathroom situation really needs to be addressed.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in this hotel recently. The entrance to the hotel is stunning, open planned with beautiful greenery. I checked in very early hours and was in my room quickly. Ocean View rooms offer lovely balconies with beautiful views. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and all the amenities you needed. The pool area is great with enough sun beds and direct access to a great beach. All the staff are fantastic. There is nothing I can fault about this hotel!

We stayed for 2 nights and wished we stayed longer! Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view on the high floor. We had dinner buffet at Weligama Kitchen and food was great! Breakfast served there was delicious with great variety from Western , Asian, Indian but the Sri Lankan style breakfast was the best! Tide Bar is a great place to relax and have drinks with scrumptious snack too. We spent most of our time at the resort and it was very relaxing. The environment was suitable for couples and family at the same time. Lastly, service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. TK and Kalpani from Weligama kitchen always checking on us, Sachinthaka , Asanka and Dharmika from Tides always cheerful and greeting us when we head there for drinks. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends visiting beautiful Sri Lanka!

I booked this hotel for a friend for one night and the room was good and quite large. However, the food quality was really disappointing. The food served was of very low quality and tasted terrible. It was a let down, especially since the room was otherwise quite nice. While this is a decent place to stay for the room quality, I would strongly recommend against purchasing any food on-site. The food was so bad that it overshadowed the positive aspects of the hotel stay. The hotel management should look into improving the quality of the food offerings to provide a more well-rounded guest experience. Until the food issues are addressed, I would advise travelers to avoid dining at this hotel and to seek out other dining options nearby instead.

Второй раз я бы этот отель не забронировал. Ремонт очень уставший, полы грязные, фото на сайте намного лучше как по факту. Розетками можно пользоваться только с переходником. Персонал приветливый, но ребята утром начинают разговаривать что мешает спать. Из плюсов только расположение и то, что номер попался с видом на океан.

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Kumu Beach and loved it so much we didn’t want to leave! This small boutique hotel has only 10 rooms, we stayed in room 7 with an ocean view. The room was spacious, comfortable, well equipped with a large bathroom, the view from the bed was just fabulous! All of the staff here are so friendly and helpful, as were all of the staff at the Teardrop Hotels that we had the pleasure of staying at, nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The chef, Indika, is a credit to the hotel, he interacts with guests daily and is clearly proud and passionate about the food that is served. One evening he cooked us a Kottu Roti as a special request (off menu) and it was delicious. All of the food including breakfast, lunch and dinner is plentiful, tasty and well presented. The only criticism is that there are sometimes not enough shaded areas for outside eating during breakfast and lunchtime, a few more parasols are required. The hotel is located on a wonderful, almost deserted beach and is close to other restaurants etc should you wish to venture out. Afternoon tea and cake/cookies are served daily as are complimentary G&T’s, wine, beer etc during social hour which brings guests together in the gardens. This hotel is truly exceptional and if you like small hotels I cannot recommend it enough!

Main reason for the review is for a special thanks to Raj for arranging a great birthday surprise for my girlfriend. I believe he was a manager, he provided a birthday cake free of charge (although considering the price paid for the hotel i reckon that should be expected) and got staff to decorate our room, which she loved. The place itself is your standard high end resort, good breakfast, great beach, pool and activities, basically everything you could want. I don’t like that there’s so many staff helping but that’s a personal preference that i prefer being left to my devices, but it’s sri lanka, this is the next level service that most people would love. Staff do go thr extra mile, and there’s several others who i am sure i have forgotten that made the stay awesome.

Lunuganga is an extraordinary and deeply personal place created by Bawa over many decades. Staying at Lunuganga allowed us to experience its potency through the day and into the late evening to better grasp its beauty, complexity and his masterful vision. It's now a few weeks since we left and I think about it constantly. It isn't like anywhere else. We stayed in Bawa's bedroom with outdoor bathing courtyard, which for us was worth the additional cost. The staff were so very thoughtful and attentive - it could not have been a better stay. Thank you to the Lunuganga Trust and Teardrop Hotels for taking such good care of this unique piece of Sri Lankan architectural heritage. You've adapted it elegantly to allow it to be used successfully as a small hotel which we hope will ensure access to Lunuganga for decades to come. I will of course recommend it to anyone with an interest in C20 art, architecture and landscape - make this pilgrimage.

Wonderful hotel tucked away but in the middle.of unwatana. The byelanes and and the food street was just a short walk away. A wholesome experience from check in,the tour of the facilities and the room. The staff is very friendly and keep a keen eye out for our requirements and remember to repeat the same. Satheesha our gueat relationahip contact at thw hotel needs a special mention for her attention to detail pleasing demeanour. The breakfast spread is wide,varied and fresh. The pool is excellent and the rock face and sunset point have a view to just sit and gaze be it early mornings or late nights. The bed and the pillows are to die for. The suite with2bed rooms offers privacy and a sense of a home. Wonderful stay worth repeating.

Меню завтрака и ужина разнообразное. Два пляжа, бассейн, ухоженная зеленая территория. Прекрасный, спокойный отдых! Номера действительно уставшие, но это не являлось проблемой. Нам всё очень понравилось!

Preshandy the Spa therapist at W15 provides an exceptional massage which is deep, intuitive and healing. I would highly recommend a visit - she is gifted. And also all the staff there were nice and helpful, room is nice view is relaxing, the music is a little loud all the day but over all it’s nice thanks to shrouq and all the staff.

We had an amazing stay! A special shout-out to the incredible food: we opted for the half-board meals, and every dish was delicious, expertly prepared, and offered with a fantastic variety. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, the flavors and presentation exceeded our expectations. The service was absolutely brilliant—every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely dedicated to making our experience unforgettable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive care during meals, the personnel truly went above and beyond. The spa treatments were the cherry on top of our stay. The facilities were immaculate, the atmosphere serene, and the therapists highly skilled. It was the perfect way to unwind and feel completely pampered. We can't wait to return and highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an exceptional getaway!

This was our first visit to Sri Lanka, which we were looking forward to as part of our winter tour including Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and a return to the cold UK through Oman and Quatar. Our 25 yrs son spoke highly of his experience during his backpacker/surfer visits to Sri Lanka, but we were looking for a higher level of comfort. Cape Weligama is a member of the Relais and Chateaux hotel association. We have a friend amongst the management team at R&C whose advice I sought prior to our decision to book. I personally don’t enjoy Indian spices although my wife loves curry, hence the combination of western and local cooking at the resort was important. The resort scored perfectly well in that respect, overall, the food offering is very good. We had booked a King bedded Master Suite and were allocated one in the eastern beach side of the property at ground floor level overlooking the “family” swimming pool in the “Arthur C Clarke” building of 4 suites. The villa blocks are named after reputed writers, personalities, or navigators, coincidentally my wife’s maiden name is “Clarke”. We were a little disappointed with the view from our ground floor suite, the upper-level suites have more light, especially on the west side of the resort (closer to the adults-only halfmoon shape pool). During the first 24 hours there seemed an absence of senior management presence at the resort, but this significantly changed on our second day when having expressed our disappointment, the assistant Executive Director Mr da Silva met with us and expressed his objective was to ensure our full satisfaction. Since then we received an outstanding level of personal attention to our needs thought our stay. Two days prior to departure, we received a complimentary upgrade to one of the higher elevation villas – this was very appreciated and offered spectacular sunset and ocean views with an abundance of wildlife proximity. Should we return, this would be the sector of the property that we would prefer. The rooms are well constructed with good quality furnishings. Not quite the latest technology seen in more modern luxury hotels, but the internet connectivity was excellent, and everything works. The rooms resemble the earlier Aman properties we stayed in such as Amanpulo in Philippines. There is direct access to a small beach where the hotel has a rustic bar with limited drinks. We sensed that this area could be improved with more extensive cocktails and smartened up. As a guest you are assigned a “curator” or butler who’s role is as an individual concierge and point of contact with the hotel. Our curator “the Brilliant Brenden” was very attentive, and instantly responsive on WhatsApp, not only helping whist in the resort, but also being on hand and contactable during our off-property excursions. Another star performer in their team was Mr Senith, the restaurant manager. Each day we would discuss our bespoke menu, and which place and time we would like to eat. These intimate

We stayed for one night between places on a round tour of Sri Lanka. We had such an amazing time that we are coming back for 2 more nights. The service, hotel and location are fantastic being looked after at every turn. The private rooms with use of the pool and access to the beach are amazing and the food is amazing fantastic experience.

The first best quality I saw in the hotel was maintained very good customer service. They are ready to listen to the customer very well and fulfill the need quickly. The hotel has beautiful access .The view is such a amazing🔥... I just had an nice massage on there Ayurvedic spa which I would recommend everyone who visit here. The room are very clean and Luxury I just love it. I attended an event here and the food and drinks were very good and the atmosphere was very good. It is equipped with a hall with good space. This is good place where you plan to a company get together and all. Talking about food, you can get different varieties of food here. And it's taste amazing.. Overall, I can say that I got a very good experience. A hotel worth visiting.🙌

The hotel is very new, everything is in a very good condition and we liked the concept that it’s not a standard Hilton. You can feel that the service routines are not at the level as it should be, but the staff were always friendly a helpful.

The hotel is not that simple to get to. Once you leave a nice hard top road, you have to drive down a long dirt road for about 10 mins to get to the hotel itself. That road can become a bit flooded if it rains hard - as it did on one day we were there - and that can prevent some guests getting in and out of the hotel. We’d had a lovely quiet evening meal one night and only found out afterwards that there had been a large group due in but couldn’t get down the road. Generally, it’s ‘normal’ vehicles and buses that bring people but, on occasion, a 4x4 would be better. On the days we arrived and left the roads were passable but you could see how they become easily impassable with rivulets running across it. The hotel though is lovely. The old one was washed away in the tsunami but the replacement looks strongly built, with its exposed concrete and stone construction there for all to see. That doesn’t make it cold and like a factory though. Far from it. It feels like it belongs where it is and its appropriate for a climate that varied between sun, wind and heavy rain whilst we were there. Whilst there are bedrooms on the ground floor (plus the gym and spa), most of the hotel’s common spaces are on the top floor, where reception, the bar and a la carte restaurant are. The main restaurant is one floor down, which has a nice view from the verandas around the outside. We had drinks in the bar on a couple of evenings, choosing to sit on the covered balcony as the indoor space - complete with pool table - whilst lovely was rather cold. The cocktails we had were really well made and come with our recommendation. We didn’t try the a la carte restaurant. Frankly, there was no need to from a food perspective. It was excellent all the time in the main one. The hotel tends to get large groups stay, who like to sit together (and create quite a noise), so the main restaurant can get quite noisy. The a la carte would offer a break from that as it’s in its own, quiet space. We genuinely couldn’t fault the food at the hotel. Breakfast always had a large choice ranging from cold offerings, cereal and salad, through to traditional Sri Lankan and hot western options. Tea and coffee was to order whilst you helped yourself to juice. The story was similar for evening meals too. If anything, evening meals catered less for western palettes and more for the Chinese guests that frequent the hotel. There were always lots of local Sri Lankan dishes too, which were simply delicious. All the hot food was outside the main restaurant space, under cover, with much of it being cooked in front of you. The cold starters and desserts were indoors. I have to say, one odd highlight was the soups. Every night there were 2 soups on offer and they were really good. I did have a tiny bug bear sometimes, which correlated with the busiest nights. That was the staff were a little too keen to clear plates. On occasion, you’d literally be chewing still and hadn’t quite put your cutlery dow

Breakfast was great, was able to bring along prepacked breakfasts for my safari & check out. However, could be more efficient with housekeeping (i came back from my safari to a room that wasnt cleaned yet, which was disappointing). But the people are nice. Just be more efficient.

Perfect location, not so far to Yala National Park and with a nice lake view. Amazing swimming pool and English breakfast too. The rooms are a bit old and not renoviated but the staff there was very amazing and always helpful. Thank you

棒，很棒，超級棒 首先我定的可可尼套房，含2份三餐 酒店非常有神祕感 工作人員解釋一路，黑天后出房間一定要有工作人員帶領，因為酒店夜晚會出現小動物。我們就是在出房間是路上看到了豪豬。酒店裡還有一個口子，是24小時有專人把守，這個口子就是大象的門，2個月前，大象來過 每個大洞穴（大帳篷）後面其實還配備了一個小洞穴（小帳篷），如果您是一家四口，那麼後面的小洞穴正好派上用場，當然，如果衹是定了一個洞穴的話，到了要交485美金，含三餐。小帳篷還有一個露天的淋浴。特別建議，一定要含三餐。周邊出入不方便。酒店的餐食也很不錯，三餐都有不同的menu.保證你吃不膩，特別推薦午餐前餐的吞拿魚。以及晚餐前餐的smoked beef.tuna。關鍵是第二天一早的safari還是vip通道，不用門口排隊的。好的guide也很重要，這也要碰運氣，我們的guide一邊講解，還一邊翻書給我們看，解釋是什麼動物。我們偶遇了朦（身上長刺的老鼠）、豹、豹子速度很快，一定要仔細看低處、貓頭鷹、鱷魚、野豬、孔雀，老鷹，以及各種鳥、大象、鹿、蜥蜴

Island Group had the pleasure of organizing our first leisure group of 2025, a group of 110 single travelers, for a 3-night stay from January 26 to 29, 2025, at Shangri-La Hambantota. The hotel Team provided seamless check-ins, well-prepared rooms, and exceptional service. With world-class facilities, dining, and recreational activities, our guests enjoyed a truly memorable experience. We stayed for 3 nights at Uga Chena Huts. It was a great amount of time - and 4 nights might just be better to thoroughly enjoy the property as well as Yala. The room was such a great respite after the crazy Yala drives. So much space to sprawl out. Such a comfy bed and pillows. Great shower and pressure. The deck with pool was lovely and really enjoyed hearing the waves from the ocean and the birds. Only criticism is the toilet room - it needs a roof for privacy - no one wants to hear their loved one’s issues going on in there! The service was spot on! They worked so hard to make eveyone happy and cared for. A shout out to Janith our ranger - he was so knowledgeable and made the drives fun and tailored them to my needs after I said no more bumpy “main road” of Yala - so helpful! (And on that note make sure to book Spa appointments! Your sore body will thank you after those safari drives) Tea in the spa was excellent! The food - amazing! Always ready to cater to our needs when we needed to change it up because of preferences. I will remember the fluffy truffle eggs from breakfast forever!! Best breakfasts I’ve ever had. And the quantity of food - you will never go hungry - ever! I had to start just having soup for lunch to save room for Safari snacks which is actually just lunch to go - and so good to! I can’t say enough or praise the property and people enough - wonderful in every sense. Oh and an elephant even made a visit to the car park where you board the safari vehicles as well as wild boar to top it all off! Thanks so much Uga Chena Huts!!
