🏮 丽江古城必走路线
老实讲，我一开始进丽江古城的时候是有点“乱走”的，因为里面真的很多小巷子，一不小心就会走进很安静、很 local 的角落 😂 但走多几次之后，我才慢慢抓到一个很舒服的路线，不会太赶，又可以把精华都走到。
📍 四方街（一定要先到这里）
基本上你一进古城，很自然就会走到四方街。这里算是最中心的位置，人会比较多，有表演、有小摊，也比较热闹。我通常会先在这里随便走一下，感受一下“啊我真的到丽江了”的感觉。
📍 随便拐进小巷子（最惊喜的部分）
接下来我最喜欢的其实不是主街，而是那些小巷子。你真的可以随便走，看到哪条安静就拐进去。石板路 + 小桥 + 水流声，那种感觉很 chill，很像马来西亚去一些老街但更有氛围感。有时候还会走到没有什么游客的地方，会看到当地人生活的样子，很真实。
📍 狮子山观景台（看整个古城）
走到有点累的时候，我会慢慢走上狮子山。上面可以看到整个丽江古城的红屋顶，还有远远的山景。建议傍晚去，会有一点点凉风，光线也很美，很适合拍照或发呆。

在丽江古城吃东西这件事，我觉得可以用一句话总结：不用找太高级，但一定要“有地方味”才有感觉 😄 我自己是属于那种走累了就看到什么想吃什么的人，反而意外吃到几家还不错的。
🥩 纳西烤肉（一定要试）
这个真的蛮推荐的，基本上每一条巷子都可能会看到。烤肉是那种偏香、带一点焦香味的，配上蘸料吃会很上头。我个人觉得很适合边走边累，然后坐下来慢慢吃。
🍜 过桥米线（云南经典）
这个算是来云南一定会遇到的食物。汤底很热很香，配料自己加，有点像“自己 DIY 一碗热汤面”的感觉。如果天气冷的时候吃，会特别舒服。
🍮 鸡豆凉粉（有点特别但值得试）
这个算是比较 local 的小吃，口感是凉凉滑滑的。一开始我有点不习惯，但吃几口之后其实蛮清爽，适合走累的时候解腻。

如果你想要“打开门就是古城”的感觉，那就直接住古城里面。
优点是：一出门就是小巷子、咖啡店、灯笼街，晚上可以慢慢散步回民宿，很有feel。
但我会建议你选靠近入口或比较外围一点的位置，不要太深，因为真的要拖行李走石板路会有点累。

This hotel is close to Zhongyi Market, and even though it's within the ancient city walls, they called me two days in advance to let me know about a convenient parking and pick-up spot for guests, which was really helpful with luggage. It's a great balance – you get to enjoy the ancient city's vibrancy while still having a relatively quiet and convenient stay. The butler service was excellent; they were very responsive to all our needs. This particular LUX* property is split into two locations. Our accommodation was a few hundred meters from the dining area, but when it wasn't busy, we could pre-order our meals and the staff would escort us there. The dining options weren't extensive, but they were very refined. The room also had a humidifier, which was essential given the dry climate. Choosing Lanshe for my Lijiang trip was definitely the right decision! It's a Naxi courtyard hidden in an alley of the ancient town, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. Pushing open the wooden gate, you're immediately away from the tourist crowds. The housekeeper was incredibly thoughtful; they helped us with our luggage at the ancient town entrance and even offered sightseeing recommendations. The room came with a whole-house oxygen supply, which was very helpful for those new to high altitudes. The bedding was soft, and the toiletries were of excellent quality. Breakfast was rich and unique, and in the afternoon, there was a complimentary afternoon tea in the courtyard. Sitting there, sipping tea and enjoying the scenery was incredibly therapeutic. The ancient architecture created a wonderful ambiance, making every casual photo look great. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Lijiang!DariNZD 168

The hotel is very close to the South Gate of the Ancient Town, making getting around super convenient. The courtyard is elegantly landscaped—a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. From the rooftop, you can enjoy panoramic views of the ancient town and gaze at the snow-capped mountains. The staff were warm and attentive. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped, with thoughtful extra touches: steam eye masks were provided, the disposable face towels at the vanity were fantastic, and the complimentary tea was delicious.
There were plenty of activities to enjoy, including afternoon tea, DIY pour-over coffee, and complimentary red wine to take home. We also participated in Dongba culture workshops and interacted with sika deer. The hotel offers airport pick-up and drop-off services and even gave us tea souvenirs upon check-out. The entire experience was wonderful; I’ll definitely recommend it to friends and stay here again next time I visit Lijiang.

I stayed at Anyu for two nights, and my experience was absolutely wonderful.
The hotel's style is traditional Naxi architecture, exuding an ancient charm and romance everywhere you look. Every public area is a picturesque spot where you can enjoy tea, read a book, or even play Go. It truly allowed me to experience the slow-paced life of the ancient town.
The staff were responsible, meticulous, and incredibly warm. Initially, when booking, I was in a hurry and accidentally caused some misunderstandings with an employee. The manager patiently clarified everything with me. Every staff member greeted us warmly, and when we returned in the evening, they would kindly open the door and say, 'Welcome back!' Upon returning to our room, we found that the turndown service had already been completed, truly making us feel at home.
The hotel offers afternoon tea and breakfast, both served as a set menu plus a semi-buffet. There was a wide variety of dishes, along with a constant supply of fresh fruits available throughout the day.
Originally, I only booked one night, but after arriving in Shangri-La, my whole family wanted to return to Anyu in Lijiang, so we booked another night! I can honestly say that these two days at Lijiang Anyu were the most enjoyable part of our trip.DariNZD 223

Stayed at InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort. Special thanks to Lisa for her attentive communication throughout my stay and exceptional service. On the downside, the room soundproofing was mediocre, and the welcome fruit promised upon booking was never delivered.
Additionally, the breakfast layout could use improvement, as the buffet stations are too far from the dining tables. My assigned seat faced the doors to the outdoor patio, which the staff kept opening and closing. The weather was quite chilly, which unfortunately gave me an upset stomach...
That said, the hotel grounds are gorgeous. However, I’d suggest updating the traditional photo-op backdrops, as they feel a bit generic and cliché. Great location and an overall good experience—just hope these little details can be improved in the future.DariNZD 317

Service: The owner couple were truly hospitable. Staying here felt just like being at home. We could always find them in the tea room if we needed anything, and they were always responsive. This is exactly what a guesthouse experience in Lijiang should be like. The courtyard has two cherry trees that are starting to turn red. The B&B has two small courtyards, the front yard is filled with birds and flowers, and the back yard has two large swings, which are great for taking pictures. My mother especially liked it. There is a balcony upstairs where you can see the snow-capped mountains. We also watched the sunrise. The boss was very enthusiastic and we went there during the Chinese New Year. On New Year's Eve, we organized a New Year's Eve dinner and dumplings for the hotel guests. It was very lively with more than 30 people. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Su Yin Tang in Lijiang, and my experience was truly wonderful.
The hosts were incredibly friendly, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. What made the experience extra special was their thoughtful gesture of preparing dessert every night and placing it in our room if we returned late. It was such a sweet and personal touch that made us feel genuinely cared for.
The breakfast served each morning was delicious, with a nice variety and homemade feel. They also host a daily tea session, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a lovely opportunity to relax, taste good tea, and have pleasant chats with the hosts.
On top of that, the hosts generously shared many useful recommendations about places to explore in the ancient city and great local food spots. Their local knowledge really enhanced our trip and helped us discover hidden gems around Lijiang.
I was especially touched by their kindness after we checked out. I realized that I had lost one of my earrings, and the hosts went out of their way to help me search for it. Thanks to their effort and honesty, I was able to recover it. Their willingness to assist even after our stay had ended truly shows how much they care about their guests.
Overall, our stay was comfortable, warm, and memorable. I would highly recommend Su Yin Tang to anyone visiting Lijiang and looking for a cozy place with exceptional hospitality. We would definitely love to return again!DariNZD 78

I randomly picked this B&B for my trip to Lijiang Ancient Town, and the location is fantastic! It's right next to the Big Water Wheel, so exploring the old town is super convenient. On a clear day, you can even catch the golden sunlight on the mountains, with sun rays sparkling on the rooftops and vibrant flowers and plants all around.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Most Memorable Stay of My First Trip to China
I did a lot of research before choosing this guesthouse in Lijiang. Then I saw a photo of Aobai and somehow felt a calling 😂. I'm so glad I booked it because this turned out to be the most memorable stay of my entire trip.
From the moment we arrived, Ah Zhi and Xiaofei came to pick us up from the drop-off point and helped with our large and heavy luggage. We were travelling with children and walking slowly, but Xiaofei patiently walked with us while Ah Zhi pulled the luggage trolley all the way.
My first impression was that Ah Zhi and Xiaofei looked quite serious and intimidating 😂, but after getting to know them, I discovered they are some of the kindest and most helpful people I met during my trip.
The guesthouse is tucked away among the shops, making it peaceful, quiet, and cozy. We were welcomed by beautiful lady boss Wang Hui with high-quality Pu'er tea and flower pastries. The hospitality started immediately, and the tea never seemed to stop flowing.
Xiaofei, who constantly made sure I never went thirsty. Every time he saw me, he would offer me tea or stop by for a chat. Although my Mandarin is limited, communication was never a problem. We used Google Translate whenever needed and even had a few of our famous ”fresh air sessions” together 😂. Before long, it became an inside joke whenever Ah Zhi or Xiaofei saw me.
Of course, I cannot forget Aobai, the true star of the guesthouse! The owners were always happy to let Aobai out whenever my children wanted to see or play with him. After one play session, Xiaofei even noticed my coat was covered in Aobai's fur and handed me a lint remover. Such a thoughtful gesture.
Breakfast was one of the most unique experiences. All guests sit together at one long dining table, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. As a Muslim, I couldn't eat the noodles, but that was not a problem. I enjoyed steamed sweet potatoes, corn, and eggs, while the staff kindly prepared hot water for the cup noodles I brought for my children and even provided milk drinks. Everyone was respectful of my dietary restrictions.

It rained throughout our stay, but Xiaofei and Ah Zhi constantly reminded us to take umbrellas whenever we went out. Even when they were having dinner, they would come out to assist us, greet us when we returned, or see us off when we left.
A special thank you to Wang Hui, Ah Zhi, and Xiaofei. Their warmth, kindness, and hospitality made us feel completely at home. On checkout day, our train was very early, and Ah Zhi kindly sent us off with flower pastries and milk drinks for the journey. Xiaofei also recommended a halal restaurant nearby, and the food was exceptionally delicious.
I would also like to thank the other staff members whose names I unfortunately did not get. Every single person we met was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely caring.

My stay at Tingxi Yinshu in Lijiang Old Town exceeded my expectations.
The guesthouse is a renovated old Naxi wooden house, retaining the original wooden beams and pillars, which gives it a lot of local character. However, the interior decoration and facilities are all new, so it doesn't feel old or dated. The room was spacious, and I particularly loved the round window overlooking the courtyard greenery, which provided excellent natural light. The room also came with a projector, perfect for watching movies in the evening, and the sofa was very comfortable. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, a smart toilet, and good quality toiletries – it was clean and odor-free.
The common areas were a pleasant surprise. There's a coffee area on the first floor, and the courtyard is full of flowers and plants. It was lovely to sit there for a while after exploring the old town; it's very quiet, a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. The location within the old town is convenient for shopping and dining, everything is within easy walking distance.

The location is good, right in the old town so it is very easy to walk around. You can communicate with the hosts using WeChat if you dont speak Chinese. The place is quite hard to find as it isn't accessible by car but the host met us when we arrived and helped us book a taxi when we left. You do have to walk for a few minutes up hill to reach a place where a taxi or didi can pick you up but this is common with most accommodation in the old town. We got a nice Chinese breakfast each morning. The accommodation was a bit more untidy and run down than I expected and the sound proofing (although expected to be not very good in an old building) was particularly bad as people were coming and going very loudly late at night. There is a washing machine available but no dryer so probabaly better to use a laundromat if you have alot of laundry to wash. I had high expectations for my trip to Lijiang Old Town this spring. Before check-in, the proprietress thoughtfully sent us location details, and a kind young man from the guesthouse met us to help with our luggage, saving our suitcases from the cobblestones. As soon as we arrived, the lovely proprietress warmly welcomed us with a traditional tea ceremony. The comforting tea and friendly chat eased our fatigue and lifted our spirits. Every corner of the guesthouse is exquisitely designed, with a tea table, fish pond, and vibrant flowers and greenery in the courtyard. The young man helped carry our luggage to our room and enthusiastically showed us around. Upstairs on the second floor, there's a wonderfully Tibetan-style tatami sleeping area with flowing drapes, creating a romantic and healing atmosphere. Another flight up leads to the balcony. I believe anyone stepping onto that balcony and looking to the right will be surprised and awestruck, unable to resist exclaiming, 'How beautiful!' The vibrant flowers, bright sunshine, and majestic snow-capped mountains unexpectedly captivated my heart; I just wanted to sit there and gaze forever. The next morning, I went to the balcony to see the snow-capped mountains. April isn't the best season to witness the 'golden mountain sunrise,' but I was fortunate enough to catch a faint golden glow, which was incredibly moving. My desire to return in winter to see the golden mountain sunrise reached its peak. The kind proprietress noticed my original room didn't have air conditioning, and I had a cold and was sensitive to the cold. The next day, she thoughtfully bought me milk tea and upgraded my room. We arrived pretty late, around 1 AM, and the owner was so kind – he personally met us at the parking lot, helped us with our bags, and showed us to our room. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, my four friends and I traveled to Yunnan. We stayed at the Jinmao Hotel Lijiang, a Hyatt Centric property. I had high expectations for the snow mountain view room after doing my research, and overall, my actual stay was quite satisfying. Here are some genuine thoughts for your reference.
The hotel is located near Shuhe Ancient Town, just a few minutes by taxi, and not far from Dayan Ancient Town either. The surrounding area is relatively quiet. The entire hotel features a scattered layout in the Naxi garden style, with excellent greenery in the public areas. There are lake views and courtyards, making it very pleasant for strolling and taking photos. I stayed in a snow mountain view king room, which was quite spacious and included a balcony. The soft furnishings had a heavy, antique Naxi style, and the toiletries were by Karl Lagerfeld, offering good quality.
However, there was one minor regret this time – it rained continuously during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Lijiang, and the temperature wasn't low enough. The clouds completely obscured the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, so I couldn't see anything from the balcony. The front desk mentioned that on a clear day, you can see the 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' right from your window. I guess our luck wasn't great this time; it just leaves an excuse to come back again.
I must commend the hotel's breakfast. Served at the lakeside restaurant, the variety was extensive. They had freshly made 'Crossing the Bridge' noodles, 'Xi Dou Fen' with fried dough sticks, fresh flower cakes, and other Naxi-style snacks, along with fresh squeezed juices. Eating while enjoying the lake view was very comfortable. We also had a meal at the Chinese restaurant, 'Dianxiang Pavilion,' and the food was delicious.
Here’s a small tip for everyone: it's best to go for breakfast around 7 AM. One day, we went at 6:30 AM, and some items weren't ready yet. Between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM, it gets exceptionally crowded, and you have to queue for food. 7 AM is just perfect – not too many people, and everything is served.
One small suggestion: there's a pet park with alpacas and miniature horses near Building D, which children love. However, you can definitely smell an odor when walking past. It would be even better if the cleaning frequency could be increased.

The inn is clean and have all the amenities I need. The staff are very friendly and helpful, speedy assistance when I request for something. The breakfast mixian is yummy. The lady boss provides excellent service. She helped to book all my major transportation to n fro airport, visits to the snow mountain and musical play and even the purchase of tickets. She'll share info of where are the places worth going in Lijiang ancient city. The various shops I went, to take cultural costumes photo and purchase of silver accessories and to eat are recommended by her as well. She even helped me to book the mini tour for my shangri-la trip in between. You can basically ask her anything you need advise for travel in Yunnan. First and foremost, booking this hotel was absolutely the right decision. I initially considered that we shouldn't be too tired on the day of arrival, especially since I was traveling with my nearly 70-year-old father and we needed to prepare for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain the next day. So, I didn't plan any other attractions for that day, but I put all my expectations into this hotel because of the many activities it offered. And the on-site experience truly lived up to my expectations:
The tie-dye experience made up for our missed opportunity to experience local customs elsewhere in Yunnan.
The light hike with Comrade Xiao Shen, my father, and me was absolutely fantastic! We walked on a mountain with no other tourists, quiet and serene, admiring our 'private' view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar. We also passed by many wedding setups, a unique sight that I believe most people don't get to experience. The highlight at the end was the stunning Tea Horse Ancient Road Grand Canyon.
In the evening, we gathered around the stove for tea. Xiao Shen prepared a rich selection of snacks, and we chatted, enjoying the cozy atmosphere.
The stargazing activity at night was also something not offered by other hotels.
On February 7th, my trust was not misplaced. Thank you all.
Then there's the hotel's location, nestled within the Dongba Grand Canyon scenic area, peaceful and profound. The manor-style design itself is incredibly luxurious. It's also very close to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, about 12 kilometers away, making for an easy drive in the morning. The room's amenities are on par with any five-star hotel.
Next, the restaurant. Oh my goodness, it's a crime if this hotel's restaurant isn't popular! The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I was almost moved to tears. It would be a real shame to stay at this hotel and not have dinner here. I ordered the double-person stir-fry set B.
Finally, all the staff. Saying they were enthusiastic feels like an understatement. I saw a genuine sense of pride in their work, especially in Xiao Shen. When there's a resonance between the service provider and the recipient, when customers genuinely feel the sincerity and warmth of the staff, it fosters respect, elevating every aspect of the experience.
If you're coming to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, it's a pity not to stay at this hotel.DariNZD 306

What an amazing getaway! If you are more into nature and culture....THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It is tucked away inside Shuhe Old Town but you would never know. Once you get there, it is quiet. They are very proud to show you their gardens, their squirrels (they are well provided for), their cats, and what they truly enjoy. We were welcomed with drinks, fruit, and delicious buckwheat bread while we were introduced to the dining area and the movie and games area. Their menu is wonderful. Breakfast is provided and has a set menu of Asian versus Western (i had French toast one morning and pancakes the next) and then an extra section where you can also have yogurt with toppings, fruits, breads, coffee, etc. Other meals are ordered from the menu. The variety is wonderful and the taste and quality are worth it. After traveling throughout China for a few weeks, I really just wanted a burger. The Yak burger was amazing! WARNING: once you pick it up for the first bite, you must commit to it. There is no putting it down. My hands were just a joyous mix of meat juice, cheese dripping, pickle juice, egg dripping....luckily there is a restroom right there to wash up after. Our room was very cute, small, odd, but it worked for us and you could tell it would be cozy come the snow seasons-which we will return for. The odd part was the steps that lead down into the bathroom. I thought, oooo how fun! Not so much in the middle of the night if you are not used to it. But not all rooms have that so don't let that discourage you from enjoying this place. If you are finished walking Shuhe Old Town, there are more options. We decided to walk around the back of the garden. Following the trail, we wound up in a very beautiful park with water and bridges and places to sit. Eventually, we came out at one of the ends of Shuhe. Again, you would never have known because there was no interrupting noises to tell you otherwise. One of the days we took Didi to Baisha Old Town. Another must go! We spent a full day there and still did not finish. Even the rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying everything. Make sure you find the silk art school. It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. The park's electric carts were available on demand, making luggage transfer effortless. The food at Xuejingge Restaurant was outstanding, especially the yak hotpot with its delicious, tender meat. Breakfast offered a rich variety of options, and you could enjoy the snow mountain view while dining. The hotel boasts extensive facilities, and the nighttime stargazing activity at the observatory was stunning and unforgettable. They also offer unique cultural experiences like tie-dyeing and Dongba culture workshops, enriching the holiday. The fireplace in the lobby was warm and serene, and the public areas were elegantly designed and perfect for photos. The B&B has two small courtyards, the front yard is filled with birds and flowers, and the back yard has two large swings, which are great for taking pictures. My mother especially liked it. When writing this review, I was still marveling at my own discernment and choice, haha! How did I end up foregoing Lijiang Old Town for the beautiful and tranquil Shuhe Old Town, and out of so many guesthouses, how did I pick Qing She? You could genuinely spend an entire day at Qing She without leaving, because it fulfills every fantasy of a slow-paced life you could imagine when coming to Yunnan. Waking up naturally in the morning, enjoying a delicious, hearty, and nutritious breakfast, then heading to the leisure bar to read or daydream in front of the garden. You can also try your hand at intangible cultural heritage crafts, or savor a cup of Pu'er tea personally brewed by the proprietress, and pet the adorable General (the dog) 🐶. In the afternoon, you can stroll and eat in the ancient town. If you don't feel like going out, the guesthouse even offers photography services. In the evening, the guesthouse lights up the fireplace; you can drink butter tea by the fire and chat with everyone. Before bed, a warm bowl of white fungus soup – how could it be this comfortable?! The best thing about coming to Lijiang was choosing this guesthouse with an amazing view. Honestly, I rarely post reviews—but this time I really felt like I had to, because this hotel was the highlight of my family trip to Yunnan.
From the moment we entered the hotel gate, we were already amazed. The place is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The staff member who communicated with us via WeChat was incredibly helpful—from arranging our transfer from the station to the hotel, to accommodating my dietary restrictions as a Muslim. They kindly prepared a special breakfast for us: rice noodles with egg, along with sweet potatoes, corn, and boiled eggs. What made it even more special was that everything was cooked by a very warm grandmother. Despite the language barrier, we could truly feel the warmth and love in her cooking.
The cabin we booked was absolutely perfect. It had a spacious yard, a hot tub, and a terrace with a table and chairs—great for dining or simply spending time together with family. Stepping inside the cabin was even more impressive: a large bed, lots of natural light, and equipped with smart home devices. One important detail for us was the bathroom—it had a bidet and a fully smart toilet with remote control. Since the temperature in Lijiang varies greatly between day and night, we were very grateful that the cabin had both floor heating and room heating. The bedroom also featured a large projector, and above it, a sunroof that can be opened—perfect for stargazing at night. It truly exceeded all our expectations.
The hotel area is also next to a very aesthetic café with a stunning view called Yuntian Cafe. For those traveling with family, this place is perfect—the area is spacious and great for kids to explore nature. If you want to go out for meals, Baisha Ancient Town is just a few kilometers away.
What I will remember the most is the kindness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, always doing their best to accommodate every request. Staying at this luxurious wilderness hotel at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was the most unexpectedly wonderful and healing experience of our Lijiang trip.
As soon as we opened the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in our room, the entire Jade Dragon Snow Mountain came into full view. The clouds drifted across the peaks, a sight both gentle and majestic. The hotel boasts a sprawling lawn, with winding wooden boardwalks leading towards the distant mountains. Lambs roamed freely, and every photo we took of the mountain scenery looked like it belonged in a magazine – truly an ideal wilderness retreat.
Even more impressive than the breathtaking scenery was the incredibly thoughtful service that made us feel right at home. I accidentally spilled milk tea and stained the front desk, but the staff cleaned it up meticulously without a word of complaint. When we returned in heavy rain, a dedicated staff member walked us all the way to our car under an umbrella and back to the hotel. When my child suffered from altitude sickness, oxygen tanks were delivered multiple times throughout the night, available instantly whenever we called. I even left my facial cleanser behind in a rush when checking out, and the hotel proactively shipped it to our next hotel free of charge.

I randomly picked this B&B for my trip to Lijiang Ancient Town, and the location is fantastic! It's right next to the Big Water Wheel, so exploring the old town is super convenient. The best decision I made on this trip to Lijiang was choosing Qinhuxuan.
First, I have to praise the owner – so incredibly warm and welcoming! They recommended great local eateries and sightseeing routes, making us feel like we were visiting a friend's home. It truly had a wonderful, personal touch.
We stayed in the 'Jixue | Chanyue King Room,' and we were amazed the moment we walked in. The entire room featured solid wood furniture, exuding a strong Zen vibe. It was very spacious, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable – a Mousse mattress combined with a goose down duvet ensured a perfect night's sleep.
The guesthouse's location is also excellent. It's very close to Lijiang Ancient Town, just a few minutes' walk away, but it's not as noisy as staying directly inside the ancient town. After exploring the old town in the evening, we could come back and enjoy a quiet, restful night – a perfect experience.

This hotel was our last stop in Shuhe, and it exceeded all expectations. We initially planned to stay one day but ended up extending for another. Since vehicles aren't allowed inside the ancient town and guests struggle with luggage on the cobblestone paths, staying just outside is much more convenient. The decor features typical Naxi-style earth building architecture, yet it feels spacious and grand. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decoration, including ethnic-themed paintings. Every day, the owner greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. The courtyard is beautifully maintained with azaleas, cherry trees, a swimming pool, a swing, and a pristine lawn, all tidied daily. The guesthouse offers a lovely breakfast; each guest gets a freshly made bowl of rice noodles and milk prepared by an auntie. The owner mentioned the minced meat was stir-fried by them, and it was delicious. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. After eating, it's very pleasant to relax in the lobby for a bit. You can play Go or Chinese chess, and there's a piano and guitar. My boyfriend even played a little, creating a very cozy atmosphere. Sometimes you'd hear other guests playing their favorite tunes. It’s a very comfortable stay with a great living vibe, perfect for a short trip with family or friends. We had a wonderfully comfortable two-day stay. Our flight was delayed, but a hotel staff member still came to the south gate of the ancient city to pick up our luggage in the early hours of the morning – it was incredibly thoughtful. I've been to Lijiang several times this year for both leisure and business, and I've always stayed at this hotel. This time, it was cloudy with occasional rain, but the room thoughtfully provided an umbrella, which was a nice touch. The front desk staff were very clear with their instructions, and all the employees were incredibly attentive. I even noticed a new addition this time: a ping-pong table, which was great. The common area for tea and chatting is truly elegant and pleasant. It's so relaxing to come back to the quiet hotel after a tiring day out, catch some sleep, and then enjoy a pot of tea in the courtyard. The hotel is split into two buildings, A and B, with the gym and laundry room in a separate, enclosed area like a large courtyard. The front desk is in building B. Although there's a phone in the room, there's no information provided at check-in or in the room about the front desk's extension number, which is a minor inconvenience. Also, on the day I stayed, there wasn't enough hot water. When I checked out and asked the front desk about it, they just casually mentioned that a colleague found a broken pipe, without any inquiry about whether it caused me any trouble. Setting up my home at the foot of the snowy mountains, living amidst the scenery – this hotel fulfilled all my fantasies for a snow mountain getaway. Opening the window, I was greeted by majestic snow-capped peaks, wreathed in clouds, like a fairyland. In the morning, I witnessed the golden glow of the sunrise on the mountains; in the evening, I quietly admired the sunset painting the snow. At night, I gazed up at the brilliant starry sky – every moment was so beautiful it left me speechless. The room had a wonderful texture, with warm-toned design elements incorporating Naxi style, making it both cozy and luxurious. The private hot spring tub melted away all my fatigue. Initially, I booked the ancient village room type because it was the cheapest. The room wasn't big, but luckily, a cancellation came through, and they upgraded us to a king-size room. It had a small courtyard at the entrance and a balcony outside the room, but the wooden fence blocked the view. The shower pressure was a bit low, and the toilet seemed to have some water storage issues, probably due to its age. We had lunch at the hotel once; the cured spare ribs were just okay – we didn't really care for them. The weather wasn't great during our stay, so the 'plant hunter' activity didn't involve much plant collecting, although we did find some mushrooms. There was no bonfire; they said it's only available during holidays, which wasn't stated on Ctrip, so I assumed it was a daily event. They did have an indoor 'stove-side tea' experience. Breakfast offers a choice of Chinese or Western mains, with a limited buffet selection. On the second day, it changed to a set meal, but it was still filling. Breakfast in Lijiang generally tends to be quite average. The hotel staff are all quite young and have excellent service attitudes. Although a new guesthouse is being built next to the hotel, thankfully, it didn't bother me. The village itself is very quiet. Every morning, small horses come to graze in the hotel courtyard, and dogs run around freely. City folk really love these kinds of scenes.DariNZD 236

The location is fantastic – right outside, you're greeted by ancient-style blue tiles and upturned eaves, yet inside the courtyard, it's a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle. The courtyard is lush with greenery, and sunlight streams onto the outdoor tables and chairs. Plus, there's an adorable dog to keep you company, creating an amazing atmosphere perfect for stunning photos! 📸
The room is clean and tidy, and the bedding is comfortable. My favorite feature is the large glass door that opens directly onto a private garden, where the play of light and shadow is simply beautiful. At night, snuggling in bed and watching movies with the bedside projector was pure bliss. The bathroom area is designed with such style, featuring a smart illuminated round mirror, chic black basin, and even a quality hairdryer and bathrobes provided – excellent attention to detail. 🛁

First, the positives:
1. **Exceptional Cleanliness**: Despite the extensive use of wood and carpets, the hotel maintained impeccable hygiene. It was spotlessly clean, reflecting a high level of professionalism.

3. **Decent SPA**: The SPA services were quite satisfactory.

2. **Secluded Location & Limited Amenities**: The hotel's location is quite remote, with very little to explore or do nearby. The property itself isn't very large, and there's no designated area for guests to relax with tea and a book. We booked a suite, and it looked exactly like the photos which is great, opulent in fact. For the price we paid it is incredible value really. The hotel seemed empty and could have done so much better. It definitely has issues: 1. Its location on Trip.com is wrong, even the name differs. Taxi/Didi will drop you at Shuhe South Gate 200m away. 2. Check in time says 1:30pm on Trip.com but on arrival they ask you to come back at 2pm, no welcome, no acknowledgment of how many bags you want to leave in their care, they will ignore you until 2pm. 3. One male staff was unbelievably rude, he came to the reception when we wanted to check in at 1:30pm and “Oi!!!” loudly at us like he was yelling at a dog. In all our lives we never had such greetings. Our reaction must have told him, he was quiet after and quickly checked us in. 4. Lacking in details: a few umbrellas at reception would be nice in Yunnan’s rain, there was a kettle in the room but no coffee or tea bags (Yunnan is famous for both). No bathmat either but a yellow sign “Caution Wet Floor”, no soap at the basin, nothing. Shower was weak and tepid even at hottest level. 5. Breakfast was poor in a dining room with leaking roof. It felt like the hotel is running on empty, and few skeleton staff.
On the PLUS side: great location in Shuhe Ancient Town, very spacious suite, super comfortable king bed, hotel does have a few super helpful staff who genuinely want to make it work, even apologized for the rude male staff.DariNZD 48

Choose the right! The water and moon flower god is hidden on the Lion Mountain, and the view is too pleasant. Pushing the window is the panoramic view of the ancient city. This place is an absolute gem and the courtyard with the tea tables and benches are such a nice arrangement for guests to relax and hv a good chat over a cup of hot chinese tea. The owner and his property manager have been absolutely helpful and kind, even going to the extent of getting a motor tricycle to help transport our luggage out of the ancient city area where we can get a Didi to the railway station in the wee hours of the morning. This was a great help as i had hurt my knee and was on crutches. Thank you very much to both the owner and his worker. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this place.DariNZD 26

I chose a six-person dorm, and at around 20-something yuan a night, it felt incredibly cheap. The bunk beds were solid and didn't wobble, offering great value for money. The common areas were also lovely, with a very artistic decor. What I appreciated most was that both the rooms and public areas were smoke-free, with a designated smoking area on the balcony by the entrance. We got a beautiful room with great views over the city. We were happy with the pick-up of our luggage and the friendly staff. We enjoyed the nice shower, comfy bed, that there was a fridge and kettle, as well as free water (ask the attentive staff and they give you more).
The only downside were the poor sound insulation of the door, so we could hear our neighbours leave loudly early in the morning and the breakfast buffet wasn't very hygienic due to the other guests.DariNZD 57

This place is BEAUTIFUL!
The location is a 4.5 only because you have to climb up 2 slopes and a flight of stairs - of which the wonderful staff will help with your bags and luggages.
We stayed here as part of a tour and came back again a few days later. The staff were sweet to tell us to message them before arrival so they can pick us (our luggages) up for us.
Love the room design where the back of the bed is a table for the bathroom area! there is a hot tub, and full toiletries and a humidifier and body lotion for he dry weather.
We were offered hot milk too for the night!
Also, we arrived quite late when the kitchen was closing. however we could order our dinner from the staff via WeChat and they prepared and reheated it for us after.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying the stir fried Brinjal. it was so good we had it twice!
The hotel is also a nice 15min walk away from ShuHe old town, which we feel is so nice to walk an explore. it's got all the Yunnan specialties but does not feel too touristy and noisy as compared to Dali. It also has more to see than Shaxi old town :)DariNZD 118

I stayed at Anyu for two nights, and my experience was absolutely wonderful.
The hotel's style is traditional Naxi architecture, exuding an ancient charm and romance everywhere you look. Every public area is a picturesque spot where you can enjoy tea, read a book, or even play Go. It truly allowed me to experience the slow-paced life of the ancient town.
The staff were responsible, meticulous, and incredibly warm. Initially, when booking, I was in a hurry and accidentally caused some misunderstandings with an employee. The manager patiently clarified everything with me. Every staff member greeted us warmly, and when we returned in the evening, they would kindly open the door and say, 'Welcome back!' Upon returning to our room, we found that the turndown service had already been completed, truly making us feel at home.
The hotel offers afternoon tea and breakfast, both served as a set menu plus a semi-buffet. There was a wide variety of dishes, along with a constant supply of fresh fruits available throughout the day.
Originally, I only booked one night, but after arriving in Shangri-La, my whole family wanted to return to Anyu in Lijiang, so we booked another night! I can honestly say that these two days at Lijiang Anyu were the most enjoyable part of our trip.DariNZD 223

I set a basic room type. After I arrived at the store, I found that their room was very beautiful. I decisively added money to upgrade the parent-child room type. The overall stay experience exceeded expectations. The decoration of the homestay is very local. The room lighting and hygiene are in place. The bedding is comfortable and sleeps peacefully. The location is good, right in the old town so it is very easy to walk around. You can communicate with the hosts using WeChat if you dont speak Chinese. The place is quite hard to find as it isn't accessible by car but the host met us when we arrived and helped us book a taxi when we left. You do have to walk for a few minutes up hill to reach a place where a taxi or didi can pick you up but this is common with most accommodation in the old town. We got a nice Chinese breakfast each morning. The accommodation was a bit more untidy and run down than I expected and the sound proofing (although expected to be not very good in an old building) was particularly bad as people were coming and going very loudly late at night. There is a washing machine available but no dryer so probabaly better to use a laundromat if you have alot of laundry to wash. This area of Lijiang is very easy to walk around and beautiful so the location is definitely a plus.DariNZD 26

👟 一定要穿舒服的鞋子
古城里面全部都是石板路，而且有一点起伏。看起来很浪漫，但走久了脚真的会有感觉。我第一次去是穿不太适合走路的鞋，结果走到晚上直接累爆。
🧭 不用太规划路线，随便走更好玩
这里最特别的地方就是“迷路也没关系”。很多惊喜的小巷子、咖啡店、风景点，其实都是乱走走出来的。越刻意安排，反而越少惊喜。
⏰ 白天 + 晚上要分开体验
白天的丽江是安静、慢节奏的感觉；晚上会变成灯笼亮起、有音乐、有一点热闹的 vibe。建议一定要两种时间都走一次。
🧳 行李尽量轻一点
如果你住在古城里面，真的不建议带太大行李箱。石板路 + 人多 + 有坡度，拖行李会比较辛苦。可以的话带一个轻便行李或背包会舒服很多。
📸 早一点起床会有惊喜
早上的古城人比较少，很安静，拍照很好看。那种“整条街只有你一个人”的感觉真的很难得。
