Shout out to Rudra, Pika, Afiq, and their kitchen crew Wani. they say that the people is the heart and soul of the brand and it reflects immensely in the boathouse. Even the director of operations took his rounds to walk and chatted us up. Thank you Thevan. Room : very new and clean tho sound insulation is abit of an issue. But it’s all good. Internet : good and stable. This part of the island cuts off coverage if you have a local sim. Amenities : For now, it’s just jungle tracking with ATV or island hopping/diving. What can be improved : 1. perhaps more upbeat music at the bar area for people to let loose. 2. weekends when there are more people, a fire performance or a light show/drone or something. So that there is a slight group entertainment. 3. Pier could be abit more lighted to see the sea during the night.

Overall, we had a good stay at Paya Beach Resort. We visited during the off-peak weekday period, so it was very quiet and peaceful—perfect if you’re looking to relax and avoid crowds. One downside was the number of mosquitoes, especially when opening the door, so that’s something to be mindful of. Another small issue was the exit green light in the room—it couldn’t be turned off at night, which felt a bit unusual and slightly disruptive when trying to sleep. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was enjoyable with a good selection of options. Overall, a nice and tranquil place to stay, with a few minor areas that could be improved.

Upon exiting the ferry in Tekek village, a bus was waiting to transport tourists. Check-in at the hotel went smoothly; our two connecting rooms matched the booked criteria, located on the ground floor of a two-story bungalow with a garden view. Housekeeping always occurred at the same time, which was very convenient, but there was an issue with towel replenishment. We often had to seek out staff and ask for them, though eventually, they started bringing even more than we needed. Water is refilled promptly, and if more is required, it's provided without any problems. The hotel always has a shortage of beach towels, and they only become available for distribution from 9 AM onwards, which is quite inconvenient. The beach bar also starts operating at 5 PM, which is a bit odd. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant offers a wide variety of choices. You can also order lunch and dinner from the menu at the hotel; prices are reasonable, and they don't overdo it with spices. The second restaurant (Indian) is completely closed. Opposite Berjaya, there's a small island where you can book a snorkeling boat trip to explore the underwater world. There weren't many live corals, but plenty of beautiful fish. However, we preferred snorkeling under the boat departure pier, where there were many schools of fish and small sharks in the shallows. Monkeys frequently visit the hotel grounds, bungalows, and beach; they are very curious but not aggressive. We also saw monitor lizards. The nature of Tioman and the gentle, secluded sea were very impressive. Sandflies were an issue; nothing we brought from home helped. We bought local spray at the hotel, which reduced the bites, but the healing process only truly began when we got home. The hotel has a gorgeous property and a large beach area. The rooms are in need of renovation; everything feels a bit tired, but functional. The staff are responsive and polite.

First of all, I want to thank every staff member at Tunamaya for their hospitality, professionalism, and attentive service to guests. Secondly, I'd like to express my gratitude to the wonderful chefs who cooked absolutely everything deliciously! Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy fresh, grilled seafood! Thank you for the themed evenings; you truly aimed to surprise us, and you succeeded! I wholeheartedly wish you prosperity and many more grateful tourists. Now, let me tell you about our stay. A vacation at Tunamaya isn't what you'd call a typical beach holiday, as popular with Russian tourists. But, of course, people don't come to Tioman for that anyway. The nature here is incredibly beautiful, with views of the jungle and mountains – every time I walked to the restaurant from our bungalow, my heart soared with gratitude and awe at the beauty! It truly is a vacation for the soul! The resort also offers diving and snorkeling equipment, a glass-bottom boat, and kayaks. There's an outdoor sports area where my husband exercised daily. And, of course, the cool, scenic poolside overlooking the sea was a great pleasure. We also discovered a beach near and beyond the second, currently inactive pier. It's perfectly fine for swimming in clear water and taking beautiful photos. The views of the massive boulders and monoliths reminded us of the Seychelles, only the sea there was always calm. My husband and elder son also hiked through the village to the waterfall, bringing back many beautiful photos and impressions! As for suggestions – I'd recommend sprucing up and beautifying the grounds. Some railings along the beach path are broken, and there are old pieces of furniture lying around. I also wasn't very pleased with the condition of the toilet near the pool; I sincerely hope you find the means to do some cosmetic renovations there. A pleasant bonus of being on the island was encountering the mischievous monkeys and monitor lizards. Despite the repellents, they found ways to roam the grounds, and that's wonderful because we are guests in their home! They are the true aboriginals of Tioman. Once again, thank you, Tunamaya, for a fantastic vacation! Wishing you prosperity!!!

The rooms are clean and relaxing, with many decorations and items made from local, handcrafted materials, which is both eco-friendly and gives the hotel its unique character. The hotel owner and staff are polite and sincere, without any noticeable commercial vibe. The natural environment is quiet and pristine, and the hotel blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Most guests here are couples enjoying their time together; we were the only ones with children during our three-day stay. We really loved this quiet, non-commercial holiday environment. January is monsoon season, so the winds and waves were strong. We tried snorkeling on two mornings, but it wasn't amazing. The ecosystem here isn't as vibrant as in Mataking, Semporna; we didn't see as many types of fish, and there were more rocks, making the snorkeling environment less friendly than Mataking. However, the hotel stay itself was truly comfortable, and we felt the energy of nature – a great opportunity to relax. The staff and owner were fantastic and even personally picked us up and dropped us off at the pier. Their service felt genuinely sincere, unlike Semporna, where there's a strong commercial atmosphere, and you don't feel the same genuine human interaction, but rather more commercialism, and the room rates are many times higher without the corresponding service quality. We love this kind of hotel vacation experience. It's filled with the scent of nature everywhere, with streams flowing through the rainforest, integrating the hotel with the sea – a resort that has both mountains and the ocean. Friendly tip: The hotel carefully prepares all three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The food provided is consistently delicious, and although the prices are not cheap, it's worth it.

This hotel never failed me, we had enjoyed the stays there. The hotel is quite a distance from the town (20mins taxi ride, but we enjoyed the scenery along the way). The hotel is not crowded, u can fully relax and enjoy the breeze without the crowds. The room is can consider clean, 2 queen size beds in a room are for my children. I asked for an extra mattress which charged me rm50 per night, I have encountered bed bugs sleeping on the mattress(but my two children beds are clean, they did not have the issue of bed bug). The hotel serve nice food, but a bit pricey. However, there are Malay stalls nearby which charged slightly cheaper and the food taste good as well. The hotel provides sea sports like snorkeling, diving, volleyball, jungle trekking, and there are band playing music (not during Ramadan). We will definitely come back.

Figures 1 to 5 are the interior and exterior of the hotel. The location is a relatively secret bay. There are about 20 such wooden villas in total. When you check in and leave the store, the staff will queue up to welcome you, but all employees will not be a little Chinese. The so-called own beach, the water quality is not as good as near the public pier. Anyway, swimming, snorkeling and fishing are not good. There is basically no signal on the mobile phone. Only the hotel's own restaurant can eat. There is white rice (pizza, burger). Dinner needs to be booked before 14:00, otherwise you can be hungry. The price is not expensive, dare to say that he is poor, 18 MYR popsicles for your reference. For foreigners who want to find a secret beach, after eating a free breakfast, they will mix from morning to night with a free beer. This hotel is very good for foreigners who are sunbathing on the beach. But for Chinese families like us who want to go swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and eating seafood, the holiday in this hotel has become a robbery, and everything can be achieved by the recent paya. For this, you have two options: working time on a water taxi RM350; like us in Figure 6, an hour and a half back through the virgin forest full of mosquitoes and snakes... Thank you for giving the hotel a ”special forces survival challenge tour”, and collect more than 500 MYR environmental tax before leaving!

One of the first things that impressed me was the cleanliness of the accommodation. The room was well-maintained, comfortable, and spotless throughout my stay. Housekeeping standards were consistently high, making it easy to relax after a day of diving and exploration. The resort grounds were also kept clean and tidy, creating a welcoming and pleasant environment that reflected the professionalism of the entire team. What truly made the experience special, however, was the people. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to help. Whether it was assistance at the reception, advice on local activities, or help with dive logistics, the team always greeted guests with a smile. The dive instructors and divemasters deserve particular praise. They were knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing the beauty of Tioman’s underwater world. Their enthusiasm was infectious and helped create a fun and relaxed atmosphere both above and below the surface. As a diver, I greatly appreciated the balance that B&J strikes between enjoyment and safety. Every dive was well-organized and professionally conducted. Safety briefings were thorough, equipment checks were carried out carefully, and the dive guides remained attentive throughout the dives. Despite maintaining high safety standards, the team ensured that the dives remained enjoyable and memorable. Their familiarity with local dive sites allowed us to maximize our underwater experience while feeling secure at all times. It is reassuring to dive with professionals who clearly prioritize guest safety without compromising the fun and excitement of exploring the reefs. Another highlight of staying at B&J was the abundance of delicious food available nearby. The resort’s location provides easy access to a variety of eateries offering local Malaysian dishes, fresh seafood, Western options, and refreshing drinks. After a day spent underwater, it was wonderful to have so many excellent dining choices within walking distance. The combination of great diving and great food made every day on the island something to look forward to. Overall, my stay at B&J Tioman Dive Resort was outstanding. The clean accommodation, warm and friendly staff, professional dive team, strong safety culture, and excellent food options combined to create an unforgettable holiday experience. I would not hesitate to recommend B&J to anyone visiting Tioman Island, whether they are experienced divers, new divers, or simply looking for a relaxing island getaway. Harbour in step availability. If you want to snorkelling, go to the left to the stones and study the underwater world. The hosts gave a kayaking at a very attractive price for a day. The houses are comfortable with air conditioning. The bed is comfortable. But there are no glasses in the windows in the houses. Only wooden stands. Accordingly, they are not open with the air conditioner without which it is very hot. Prepare to live with the light on constantly. There was a tree over the house, from which occasionally something fell on the roof with a thunder. But it was rare. And so it was very much like!

This hotel is located right in the heart of the small town of Mersing. There's a 24-hour mamak stall right in front of the hotel, so finding food here is super easy. The area around the hotel also has plenty of coffee shops and other eateries. We stayed here during the Merdeka celebration, so we got to join in the festivities both day and night. We even watched the fireworks from the hotel rooftop! It was absolutely amazing! 😍😍 Even though it's a small town, the atmosphere was quite lively and packed with tourists, which made parking a bit challenging. But we eventually found a spot right in front of the hotel! The cleanliness was very satisfying. The hotel also provides coffee, mineral water, and even carbonated drinks. The hotel towels were very clean and smelled fresh. Check-in was also super easy; there's no counter, just a PIN given, and the whole process took less than 5 minutes. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel. It's excellent value for money. Highly recommended for you to experience a stay here yourself!!!

The room is not big, but why would you want a bicycle for this price? The female receptionist was rather indifferent, but the male was quite enthusiastic. He said he would drive us to the pier immediately. In fact, it only took about ten minutes to walk. Warm and helpful staff, especially for families with young children. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. What I appreciated most was how attentive the staff were when they saw me having breakfast alone with my three little kids while my husband was away. They kindly helped to keep an eye on the children and even assisted in encouraging them to eat first before having their ice cream. 😄 It may seem like a small gesture, but as a mother travelling with three young children, that kind of help really means a lot. Thank you to the Papaya Resort team for making our stay more comfortable. ❤️ Really appreciate the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness!

The hotel is, of course, poor, but the staff is caring. We were met at lunchtime at the pier and brought to the hotel. At 24 o'clock we had to leave by bus to another city. We were taken to the bus station. The transfer is free. You can also walk to the bus station and to the pier. It's about 10 minutes. We did not sleep in the room, we only left our things to walk around the city. Wi-Fi is provided. You can't call the stay at the hotel pleasant.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The service was excellent—everyone was so polite and greeted me warmly whenever we met. The island environment is beautiful and very relaxing, making the whole atmosphere so pleasant and laid-back. Every meal was delicious too! My only small comment is that there were quite a lot of mosquitoes and insects in the room, which I understand is unavoidable on an island, but I hope the pest control can be improved in the future. Overall, I had a really great day and truly enjoyed my time here. Thank you to everyone for the amazing service—I will definitely come back again!
