Everyone is talking about the brand new Night Zoo 🌙🦁 I actually went not long ago, and honestly… the vibe really hits different between day and night. The daytime feels like your usual chill zoo visit, but once it turns dark and the lights come on, the whole place feels a bit more magical and mysterious ✨

That’s why a lot of people are going just for the Night Zoo now (weekends can get quite packed, so yeah… expect some queue 😅). 🌙 What's So Special About the Night Zoo?

Honestly, Zoo Johor's Night Zoo isn't huge, so don't expect a massive night safari experience. But that's actually part of its charm 😄 The whole place is easy to explore, making it perfect if you're looking for a relaxing evening outing with family, friends, or your partner. I also noticed that the zoo is well-maintained, and the animals have clean, spacious enclosures, so it feels comfortable to walk around.

🐾 The Night Zoo is divided into 4 zones:

  • 🦌 Sambar Deer Zone
  • 🐊 Copper Crocodile Zone
  • 🦩 Flamingo Zone
  • 🐒 Bornean Gibbon Zone

The zones are all fairly close to each other, so you can just stroll around at your own pace without rushing. Most people will probably finish exploring the entire Night Zoo in around an hour, making it a nice, easy night activity rather than an all-night attraction. 🌙✨

You have to check out the tigers! 😂 Besides looking absolutely majestic, they were also surprisingly... chonky haha. Not the lean, fierce type, but more like they've been very well taken care of. Watching them casually stroll around was oddly entertaining. 🐯

These little guys are super active and incredibly cute! 😭 They keep jumping around from branch to branch, and sometimes they'll even stop and stare right at you. Definitely one of the most fun animals to watch.

One of the cutest animals in the zoo! 🥹 They're tiny, fast, and those little white ears make them even more adorable. The one I saw was quite shy though, so getting a nice photo wasn't easy. 📸

The bears were another surprise favorite! 😂 They looked fluffy, chubby, and their fur was so shiny. They just wandered around slowly with a "living my best life" kind of attitude.

Getting to Zoo Johor is pretty easy since it's located right in the heart of Johor Bahru. Just key in the location on your GPS, and you'll arrive without much trouble. 👍

If you're driving, the easiest option is to park at Penjara Ayer Molek (Old Johor Bahru Prison) parking lot. From there, hop on the free Bas Muafakat Johor shuttle bus, which takes you directly to the zoo entrance. Super convenient, and you won't need to walk far! 🚌✨

There's a small waterpark for kids nearby, and hotel guest pays at a discounted rate. The bed is huge and very comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. One small area for improvement would be the floor, as it felt a little sticky at times. With better cleaning, the overall experience would be even better. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a great option for a quiet getaway.

This is a nice apartment hotel with no room service nor lobby, suitable for families especially with kids. The place is clean when we checked in, and the diy checkin is quite intuitive wth good instructions. For its price during non-peak, there’s little to complain. When it comes to peak though, prices soars, and the number of guests creates a jam at the lift access to the 39 floor apartment rooms. During our stay, one lift was down and with only 3/4 lifts, the waiting time during checkin and checkout is very very long. Hot water the shower is centralised and not reliable at all. Due to its proximity to KSL Mall, size of the room, and its good price during non-peak, its a recommend, but don’t expect perfection here.

The location is right next to CQ @ Clarke Quay, which is very convenient if you're traveling in Singapore and just need a place to sleep at night. It's perfect for budget travelers. However, the hotel isn't on the main street, so it can be a bit tricky to find with luggage if you're relying on Google Maps. Make sure to find Haidilao Hot Pot and take the elevator up from there. You'll be right at the hotel entrance. The hotel's cleanliness is acceptable; for a place with high occupancy, it's maintained to a good standard. The air conditioning is nice and cool, and the bed is quite soft. With earplugs, you can get a good night's sleep. Overall, it's worth the price and much better than other Singapore hotels in the same category. Plus, there's a free water dispenser.

The capsule hotel is managed by an elderly couple. The reviews were mixed, between they're being nice vs being mean. What about how I thought? ”They're being very kind and trying hard to run the business for travellers convenience”. It's never easy to run businesses and it's not a charity so some may think if youre in business you should be at least act like a pro. For those who said that..then can you be one nice customer to the business owners? Not to forget..they're elderly, yet they did their best to help you with your stay with certain in house rules, which is manageable by the crowds they're having - solo/friends travellers - gamersalike Personally chat and understand that they're constantly tired and wired to the place and it's a very tiring job. Leave some kindness to the world and be kind to people around us, you will find wonderfulness. The rest I'll leave it up to yourself to judge.

I had a wonderful stay at Shama Suasana Johor Bahru. The location is excellent, with easy access to CIQ, City Square, and many restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance, making it very convenient for both business and leisure trips. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed, strong air conditioning, and the beautiful city view. The housekeeping team did a great job keeping the room tidy throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to assist whenever needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Johor Bahru and highly recommend Shama Suasana to anyone looking for a convenient, clean, and comfortable place to stay.

There was blood stain on bedsheet, and aircon one moment warm, one moment super cold … not sure what to think of it 🥲 The bed, not so comfortable to sleep on and very low level, for elderly not really good for them Room size is small and a little squeeze for 2 persons. The bathroom lights are too dim Breakfast wise, not so fantastic. Would recommend eat out since near by have many eatery options

The host was responsive and helpful in ensuring smooth check-in and out. The location of the apartment building is good, within walking distance to CIQ, city square mall and other shopping areas. The 2 bedroom apartment we booked was clean and neat. The unit smells good too. The only complaint we had was the aircon in the living room being too weak, too old and not cooling. As the windows and balcony sliding doors were huge with great views of the custom check point, the sunlight and heat coming into the unit was unbearable, the aircon does not provide any comfort at all. Luckily the aircon in the bedrooms were working properly. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable to use. The lift is clean and not crowded at all, so going in and out was a breeze.

The host is friendly, responsive and understanding. However, the stay is a very forgettable one. This review is solely based on the overall experience staying at this apartment. It is to create awareness for others in case they have kids and would like to stay here as it has 2 Queen bed accommodation. For context, it is a condominium with dual keys unit, meaning it has one main entrance followed by 2 separate doors for each unit. I do not want anyone to been through what we did. We check-in late around 5pm, the kids are excited when they entered the room happily and shouting. Out of a sudden, we heard a guy shouting from the other unit, we opened the door and he shouted at us angrily. He said he is staying here and he is sleeping, do not make any noise. We obliged and tried to keep our volume down. We went out after and back to the stay around 10pm. My kids suddenly cried and he shouted “Hello!”and slammed the door loudly. We will all stunned and speechless. The kids are only 3 and 8 fyi, and I have to tell them to be quiet for the whole time while staying here. What’s the joy of staying here for? To be honest, it is late at night at level 39 and with an unknown mental unwell guy just beside us really makes our stay a very stressful and threatening one. We slept for the night as it is late and the kids are tired. We left the stay asap the next morning.
