That’s why a lot of people are going just for the Night Zoo now (weekends can get quite packed, so yeah… expect some queue 😅). Honestly, Zoo Johor's Night Zoo isn't huge, so don't expect a massive night safari experience. But that's actually part of its charm 😄 The whole place is easy to explore, making it perfect if you're looking for a relaxing evening outing with family, friends, or your partner. I also noticed that the zoo is well-maintained, and the animals have clean, spacious enclosures, so it feels comfortable to walk around.

🐾 The Night Zoo is divided into 4 zones:

  • 🦌 Sambar Deer Zone
  • 🐊 Copper Crocodile Zone
  • 🦩 Flamingo Zone
  • 🐒 Bornean Gibbon Zone

The zones are all fairly close to each other, so you can just stroll around at your own pace without rushing. Most people will probably finish exploring the entire Night Zoo in around an hour, making it a nice, easy night activity rather than an all-night attraction. 🌙✨

These little guys are super active and incredibly cute! 😭 They keep jumping around from branch to branch, and sometimes they'll even stop and stare right at you. Definitely one of the most fun animals to watch.

One of the cutest animals in the zoo! 🥹 They're tiny, fast, and those little white ears make them even more adorable. The one I saw was quite shy though, so getting a nice photo wasn't easy. 📸

The bears were another surprise favorite! 😂 They looked fluffy, chubby, and their fur was so shiny. They just wandered around slowly with a "living my best life" kind of attitude.

A must-see local favorite! Its unique black-and-white coloring really stands out, especially at night, making it one of the best animals to photograph. 📸 Just remember not to feed the tapirs, even if they come close to you.

Getting to Zoo Johor is pretty easy since it's located right in the heart of Johor Bahru. Just key in the location on your GPS, and you'll arrive without much trouble. 👍

This guesthouse is incredibly unique and full of character. I never expected to find something like this in JB! It's quite true to the pictures, though the photos have a stronger ambiance and make it look newer than it is; in reality, some of the in-room facilities are a bit old. The ceilings are high and the balcony is very spacious, offering views of the sea, Singapore, and Malaysia simultaneously. The guesthouse is located in a high-end residential building, with excellent security downstairs and very good service. You need to pick up the key from the mezzanine floor beforehand, which is quite convenient. Each room comes with a free parking space, so parking is very easy. However, it does suffer from the common guesthouse issue of poor sound insulation. It seems like a whole apartment has been divided into two, as we could always hear sounds from next door. Also, the projector's clarity was very low. And the toilet paper quality was quite poor; it would be great if conditioner could also be provided. The host's responses on WhatsApp were pretty prompt, and most issues were dealt with immediately. Overall, it's very well-designed and quite quirky, definitely worth a stay. But for this price point, I would hope for better quality in some of the amenities.

At least 8 out of 10 starts for this experience. Pros: Excellent location, right above the R&F mall. Kitchen is complete with adequate kitchenware. Comfortable stay for a 1-bedroom apartment. Felt very cosy (attached photo). Easy enough to check in and out following whatsapp directions for the mailbox. Customer service was responsive with my questions. Also the price for 1 night was excellent at only about $61 SGD, and this seems to be the cheapest among all 1 bedroom offerings on Trip.com for R&F Princess Cove. Cons: On a minor note, air-conditioner in the living room was a bit loud (some noise) but otherwise worked fine. I did not use the oven in the kitchen but there was a sign saying it was not to be used. The most unfortunate part of the stay was small bugs/cockroaches in the kitchen/toilet area, I otherwise would have given it a 10/10 for my stay there. I don't believe it is a hygiene issue though as the rooms were observed to be clean, not sure where the bugs are coming from but there is spray provided.

I was downgraded from a Superior Room to a Deluxe Room because I requested a smoking room, but no refund was offered for the downgrade. I was informed that smoking rooms are only not available in the Deluxe category. This should be stated clearly on the website to avoid misunderstandings during check-in. After the room change, I was first assigned a room that was quite warm. I was then moved to another room, but the TV kept restarting automatically and was not working properly. A technician was sent to troubleshoot the issue, and the entire room change and repair process took more than an hour to resolve. On a positive note, Trip.com made the effort to call me to follow up on the issue and compensated me with Trip Coins for my next booking. I appreciate their prompt customer service and support. Thank you.

🧻Quite stingy on the towels. They won't automatically change out your towels. One night I came back to the hotel and used the towel provided on the bed. I thought it was new, but it had very strong chlorine or water smell. Not sure if the cleaner had folded the same used one in the toilet and put it on the bed. I think they generally don't have enough towels because they don't want to provide extra towels if you already have 2 in the room. Maybe it's because of Sustainability efforts, but because that towels feel worn and dirty, I feel like they should be changed every night. 🦐Room service of the seafood pasta is a miss. Located near the sea hence thought the seafood would be fresh, but prawn heads are black. Meat is very soft and lumpy. Means they have kept the seafood for a long time. 🏊🏽Swimming pool is a very bright place, nice and very clean. Starts from 8am to 8pm. 🏛️Architecture of the hotel is very vintage style and vast. 🍛Breakfast buffet starts from 7am is not super, although ✅the milktea cart man is amazing. Overall the breakfast buffet and room service food (I only ordered one seafood pasta meal) wasnt a good experience for me at all. 🎶Below the hotel there is a sexy dancers club, hence you might hear loud music reverberations if you are located on the lower levels. I was located on level 11, and the music thumping could still be felt into the wee hours. Luckily I was on level 11, so the thumping still tolerable. Connecting room walls are very thin. Can hear the Chinese man speaking next door. 🤢Bathroom sink has no stopper, goes straight to the pipe. 🌊Sea view room was great！！Room floor cleanliness is ok. Bring your own hair conditioner.

The location is great, very convenient for driving to Sutera Mall and nearby areas. It's a quiet hotel nestled in a bustling area. There are also plenty of food options nearby, like R&C, Ah Shui Durian, and Yu Xiao Er. If you don't have a car, there's a large food court downstairs that's open very late; I once saw it still lit up past midnight when I returned to the hotel. Next to the hotel, there's also an indoor badminton court and a McDonald's (inside the petrol station), so it's super convenient overall. The hotel also has pools for both kids and adults, a gym, and a conference room. The biggest advantage of this hotel is the incredible water pressure – showering is a real pleasure. I've stayed here 5 times already and will definitely keep coming back.

Firstly, the location is great! The R&F Mall is just below and it is all sheltered. Secondly, the unit is very clean and spacious. I am referring to the 1-Bedroom unit in my pictures which is what I was ultimately staying in. It is in block A5-1 and it is perfect. 5/5. At night, can still hear a bit of traffic sounds but it wasn't too bad. However, before I stayed in this unit, I was originally assigned a studio unit in block A7-2. That unit had german cockroaches infestation and the traffic noises were bad. Good thing is the service recovery by the host is excellent. I told them about it and next day, they changed my room for me. Will definitely come again!

The location is excellent, especially for shopping and dining, with convenient access to Southkey and other nearby attractions. The staff were friendly, professional, and efficient during both check-in and check-out, making the entire experience smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. It offered great value for money and exceeded my expectations. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Nice view from balcony and windows. It was very relaxing to watch youtube from their 70 inch tv while enjoying the airconditioning and comfortable sofa. Location was excellent. We stayed on a Monday with parsa malam right at the door step. Check in and out was easy with detailed instructions given through watsapp. I stayed at the 26th floor from 4th-6th May and did not have any pfoblem with the lift.

Cons: No locker provided; Not-welcoming receptionist; access card not working; roommate talking to the phone till midnight which was disturbing, earplugs given but ineffective to block noise; room door broken and couldn't lock; toilet was smelly and floor was always wet; some dirt on the table inside my cubicle; see-through blind; the dorm was probably meant for long-term working occupants as there were some weird rules. Pros: walking distance to Komtar JBCC and CIQ; towel (dirty), toothbrush and earplugs (not useful) were provided; being the most effortable option at time of booking. This was my first time staying in a capsule hostel. Honestly, it was a mixed and slightly negative experience but for a short rest it is still marginally acceptable.

Amazing hotel for 3 star hotel. We loved the ambience and cozy feeling. Rooms were huge and clean. Beautifully designed. Beds were so comfortable to sleep on. Love the fact disposable slippers, toothbrush, shampoo and bath soap. Mineral bottles and be refilled. Staffs were so kind and helpful. Location is so perfect as dobi, shops, restaurants and hawker food. Definitely would love to return and highly recommend.

Our stay at Grand Paragon Hotel was absolutely wonderful! ❤️ The rooms are incredibly spacious, making them perfect for families. We travelled with our 18-month-old son, my elderly mother who uses a wheelchair, and plenty of luggage, yet we never felt cramped. The hotel is truly family-friendly, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What made our stay even more special was the exceptional staff. Everyone was friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful. Since our room was ready, they kindly allowed us to check in early, which we greatly appreciated after our journey. The team also took care of all our luggage without hesitation, and the front desk was always responsive and efficient whenever we needed assistance. We chose Grand Paragon because it holds a special place in our hearts. My late father loved staying at this hotel, and returning here brought back many beautiful memories. It made our stay even more meaningful. There were only a few small suggestions for improvement. We experienced a minor hiccup with the hot water during our stay, and it would also be wonderful if the hotel could consider installing handheld bidets, as the built-in ones are not very practical. For breakfast, having salt and pepper available on every table would be a nice convenience. One additional touch that would make the experience even more memorable is offering a simple welcome drink or a small plate of cookies upon check-in, as some other hotels do. It’s a thoughtful gesture that makes guests feel extra welcomed and adds a lovely bonus to the overall stay. Overall, we loved everything about our stay and truly appreciated the warm hospitality. The host was responsive and helpful in ensuring smooth check-in and out. The location of the apartment building is good, within walking distance to CIQ, city square mall and other shopping areas. The 2 bedroom apartment we booked was clean and neat. The unit smells good too. The only complaint we had was the aircon in the living room being too weak, too old and not cooling. As the windows and balcony sliding doors were huge with great views of the custom check point, the sunlight and heat coming into the unit was unbearable, the aircon does not provide any comfort at all. Luckily the aircon in the bedrooms were working properly. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable to use. The lift is clean and not crowded at all, so going in and out was a breeze.

For those who said that..then can you be one nice customer to the business owners? The host is friendly, responsive and understanding. However, the stay is a very forgettable one. This review is solely based on the overall experience staying at this apartment. It is to create awareness for others in case they have kids and would like to stay here as it has 2 Queen bed accommodation. For context, it is a condominium with dual keys unit, meaning it has one main entrance followed by 2 separate doors for each unit. I do not want anyone to been through what we did. We check-in late around 5pm, the kids are excited when they entered the room happily and shouting. Out of a sudden, we heard a guy shouting from the other unit, we opened the door and he shouted at us angrily. He said he is staying here and he is sleeping, do not make any noise. We obliged and tried to keep our volume down. We went out after and back to the stay around 10pm. My kids suddenly cried and he shouted “Hello!”and slammed the door loudly. We will all stunned and speechless. The kids are only 3 and 8 fyi, and I have to tell them to be quiet for the whole time while staying here. What’s the joy of staying here for? To be honest, it is late at night at level 39 and with an unknown mental unwell guy just beside us really makes our stay a very stressful and threatening one. We slept for the night as it is late and the kids are tired. We left the stay asap the next morning.
