That’s why a lot of people are going just for the Night Zoo now (weekends can get quite packed, so yeah… expect some queue 😅). 🌙 What's So Special About the Night Zoo?

Honestly, Zoo Johor's Night Zoo isn't huge, so don't expect a massive night safari experience. But that's actually part of its charm 😄 The whole place is easy to explore, making it perfect if you're looking for a relaxing evening outing with family, friends, or your partner. I also noticed that the zoo is well-maintained, and the animals have clean, spacious enclosures, so it feels comfortable to walk around.

🐾 The Night Zoo is divided into 4 zones:

  • 🦌 Sambar Deer Zone
  • 🐊 Copper Crocodile Zone
  • 🦩 Flamingo Zone
  • 🐒 Bornean Gibbon Zone

The zones are all fairly close to each other, so you can just stroll around at your own pace without rushing. Most people will probably finish exploring the entire Night Zoo in around an hour, making it a nice, easy night activity rather than an all-night attraction. 🌙✨

You have to check out the tigers! 😂 Besides looking absolutely majestic, they were also surprisingly... chonky haha. Not the lean, fierce type, but more like they've been very well taken care of. Watching them casually stroll around was oddly entertaining. 🐯

These little guys are super active and incredibly cute! 😭 They keep jumping around from branch to branch, and sometimes they'll even stop and stare right at you. Definitely one of the most fun animals to watch.

One of the cutest animals in the zoo! 🥹 They're tiny, fast, and those little white ears make them even more adorable. The one I saw was quite shy though, so getting a nice photo wasn't easy. 📸

The bears were another surprise favorite! 😂 They looked fluffy, chubby, and their fur was so shiny. They just wandered around slowly with a "living my best life" kind of attitude.

A must-see local favorite! Its unique black-and-white coloring really stands out, especially at night, making it one of the best animals to photograph. 📸 Just remember not to feed the tapirs, even if they come close to you.

Getting to Zoo Johor is pretty easy since it's located right in the heart of Johor Bahru. Just key in the location on your GPS, and you'll arrive without much trouble. 👍

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at KSL Hotel & Resort. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. The location is excellent as it’s directly connected to KSL City Mall, making shopping and finding food very convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite. The room could use a little updating in some areas, but it was still comfortable and worth the price. I would definitely consider staying here again for a short trip to Johor Bahru.

This guesthouse is incredibly unique and full of character. I never expected to find something like this in JB! It's quite true to the pictures, though the photos have a stronger ambiance and make it look newer than it is; in reality, some of the in-room facilities are a bit old. The ceilings are high and the balcony is very spacious, offering views of the sea, Singapore, and Malaysia simultaneously. The guesthouse is located in a high-end residential building, with excellent security downstairs and very good service. You need to pick up the key from the mezzanine floor beforehand, which is quite convenient. Each room comes with a free parking space, so parking is very easy. However, it does suffer from the common guesthouse issue of poor sound insulation. It seems like a whole apartment has been divided into two, as we could always hear sounds from next door. Also, the projector's clarity was very low. And the toilet paper quality was quite poor; it would be great if conditioner could also be provided. The host's responses on WhatsApp were pretty prompt, and most issues were dealt with immediately. Overall, it's very well-designed and quite quirky, definitely worth a stay. But for this price point, I would hope for better quality in some of the amenities.

This property's location is one of its strongest selling points, with a plethora of dining options nearby and KSL just a short walk away. The unit itself is clean and well-maintained, with fresh linens, towels, and pillows. Unfortunately, our stay was not without its issues. The unit's high floor did not translate to impressive views, as they were blocked by neighboring units. The bathrooms, particularly the master bedroom, had a noticeable sewage smell that lingered even with the door closed. The water heater was also problematic, leaking and producing loud noises when in use. Other issues included a faulty toilet door lock in the master bedroom and poor water flow on the toilet flooring, resulting in water accumulation. The shower form provided is labelled as dishwasher. To top it off, the cups provided were dirty and stained. Despite these issues, the stay would have been enjoyable if not for these problems.

At least 8 out of 10 starts for this experience. Pros: Excellent location, right above the R&F mall. Kitchen is complete with adequate kitchenware. Comfortable stay for a 1-bedroom apartment. Felt very cosy (attached photo). Easy enough to check in and out following whatsapp directions for the mailbox. Customer service was responsive with my questions. Also the price for 1 night was excellent at only about $61 SGD, and this seems to be the cheapest among all 1 bedroom offerings on Trip.com for R&F Princess Cove. Cons: On a minor note, air-conditioner in the living room was a bit loud (some noise) but otherwise worked fine. I did not use the oven in the kitchen but there was a sign saying it was not to be used. The most unfortunate part of the stay was small bugs/cockroaches in the kitchen/toilet area, I otherwise would have given it a 10/10 for my stay there. I don't believe it is a hygiene issue though as the rooms were observed to be clean, not sure where the bugs are coming from but there is spray provided.

Having stayed at Holiday Villa numerous times, I keep returning for one simple reason: consistency. It has become my go-to choice for trips to Johor Bahru, and it continues to deliver a reliable experience. Why I keep coming back:  Prime Location: Being located directly opposite KSL City Mall is incredibly convenient. You have immediate access to shopping, dining, and the cinema without the need to navigate heavy traffic or deal with long walks.  Hassle-Free Parking: This is a major selling point. Between the ease of self-parking and the convenience of the valet service (at a reasonable RM35), arrival and departure are always stress-free compared to the often chaotic access at the mall side.  Solid Breakfast: The breakfast variety is surprisingly good, with a nice spread that offers a solid start to the day. A Note on Value: I am fully aware that the room rates here are generally higher than at KSL Hotel. While it is a bit more of a premium, I find that the extra cost is absolutely justified by the seamless parking experience, the slightly quieter environment, and the overall maintenance of the property. Verdict: If you value efficiency, ease of access, and a hassle-free stay, the slight price premium is worth every penny. I will definitely be returning.

Here the clubs n shop in building serve n sell liquor too...saw drunk lady outside hotel at night. Feel uncomfortable. Car park n hotel use different lift so has to ask security guard how to get to hotel lobby after parking at multilevel car park. Quite complicated so need to ask specific directions to hotel lobby from car park . Hotel building not new, but clean, room quite spacious, superb view from room at level 15 overlooking the sea.

The resort is located outside of the city, the ambience is very nice, the hotel room is spacious and well designed, however it is worn down and one can see it has surpassed his glorious time. The towels are quite old and the amenities are simple. The gym was well equipped for few decades ago, the Aircon is not working properly so it is super hot inside. The Sauna and jacuzzi are for both genders. There are only one bottle of water provided free of charge per person per day, the tap water tastes terrible. The breakfast is good in the sense of varieties. It can be challenging to get a taxi due to the location.

This hotel is great! There's a food court right downstairs, and they even sell durians and coconut water. Plus, the famous Bridge Bottom Wanton Noodles is open late. The hotel parking lot isn't huge, but there are always enough spots. It's also super convenient for getting to Sutera, only about a 5-8 minute drive. I even called the front desk around midnight to ask for a pillowcase change, and someone came to help us in about 5 minutes. Talk about efficiency! I'll definitely stay here again; it's so convenient for getting around.

Firstly, the location is great! The R&F Mall is just below and it is all sheltered. Secondly, the unit is very clean and spacious. I am referring to the 1-Bedroom unit in my pictures which is what I was ultimately staying in. It is in block A5-1 and it is perfect. 5/5. At night, can still hear a bit of traffic sounds but it wasn't too bad. However, before I stayed in this unit, I was originally assigned a studio unit in block A7-2. That unit had german cockroaches infestation and the traffic noises were bad. Good thing is the service recovery by the host is excellent. I told them about it and next day, they changed my room for me. Will definitely come again!

Had a very enjoyable stay with my family. Room are all very clean and spacious, unlike those comments i read earlier. Their customer service are really excellent and very responsive. Shopping and food are all next to the KSL mall. They are very honest and responsible for our stay there too, last day when we ckecking out we left some money on the table for the cleaner and left the apartment but hours later we received a message from them informing us that we left our money there, its not alot but they make the effort to inform us. Really 5⭐️ for them. Will definitely book again when going Malaysia.

The apartment is quite clean. However we got a room at Tower A facing the high way. So at night, u can hear very loud car noise pass through. So if you are a light sleeper, better message the owner not to give a house near highway. It would be great to have water dispenser in the house. Shower amenities are not labelled. It would be best to label what is inside the bottles. No toothbrush provided. There is washing machine with free power detergent which is good. No bathroom mat is provided therefore bathroom floor is always wet after showering which could lead to fall. The view is awesome.

I would like to congratulate the management and staff of the hotel, as the rooms and most of the common areas were exceptionally clean. I have no complaints regarding the cleanliness of the property. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. However, it is important to note that the hotel shares its swimming pool and gym facilities with a residential complex. As a result, the pool is often crowded with children and condominium residents, which can make it less comfortable for hotel guests. The café on the 5th floor, where breakfast is served, operates only in the mornings. It would be a great improvement if it remained open throughout the day. I noticed that many guests were looking for coffee or a light snack, but there is nowhere convenient to go within the hotel. Since the property is somewhat isolated, guests need to take a taxi to the nearest shopping mall, which is approximately a 15-minute ride away. The hot spring facilities could also be improved. The sauna does not function properly, and the area could be maintained more carefully in terms of cleanliness. In general, the hot spring facilities appear somewhat worn and would benefit from refurbishment.

Cons: No locker provided; Not-welcoming receptionist; access card not working; roommate talking to the phone till midnight which was disturbing, earplugs given but ineffective to block noise; room door broken and couldn't lock; toilet was smelly and floor was always wet; some dirt on the table inside my cubicle; see-through blind; the dorm was probably meant for long-term working occupants as there were some weird rules. Pros: walking distance to Komtar JBCC and CIQ; towel (dirty), toothbrush and earplugs (not useful) were provided; being the most effortable option at time of booking. This was my first time staying in a capsule hostel. Honestly, it was a mixed and slightly negative experience but for a short rest it is still marginally acceptable.

Amazing hotel for 3 star hotel. We loved the ambience and cozy feeling. Rooms were huge and clean. Beautifully designed. Beds were so comfortable to sleep on. Love the fact disposable slippers, toothbrush, shampoo and bath soap. Mineral bottles and be refilled. Staffs were so kind and helpful. Location is so perfect as dobi, shops, restaurants and hawker food. Definitely would love to return and highly recommend.

Friendly and helpful people in this space, with plenty of spaces for working or studying. The environment stays pretty quiet even in the common areas, which makes it comfortable to focus whatever you want to do. Convenient location too, so getting here is easy and eating/buying anything is close by too. Downside would be that the capsule aren’t fully soundproof and the charging points can be a little slow, but still manageable overall.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a pleasant stay at Throve Hotel JB. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient and the facilities were well maintained. The only minor issue was that there was occasionally a slight cigarette smoke smell in some areas, but it did not significantly affect our overall experience. Overall, we had a very good stay and would recommend this hotel to others visiting Johor Bahru. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Had a very pleasant stay at Shama Suasana Johor Bahru. The location is excellent, just a short walking distance to CIQ, City Square and many eateries nearby, which made everything very convenient. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a nice living area and kitchenette that made the stay feel very homely. The bed was comfortable and the overall environment was relaxing. Staff were friendly, helpful and check-in process was smooth as well. The facilities such as the swimming pool and gym were well maintained. Overall, it was a great stay with good value for money. Would definitely recommend this hotel for both family trips and short JB getaways. Will come back again for my next visit.

The host was responsive and helpful in ensuring smooth check-in and out. The location of the apartment building is good, within walking distance to CIQ, city square mall and other shopping areas. The 2 bedroom apartment we booked was clean and neat. The unit smells good too. The only complaint we had was the aircon in the living room being too weak, too old and not cooling. As the windows and balcony sliding doors were huge with great views of the custom check point, the sunlight and heat coming into the unit was unbearable, the aircon does not provide any comfort at all. Luckily the aircon in the bedrooms were working properly. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable to use. The lift is clean and not crowded at all, so going in and out was a breeze.

The host is friendly, responsive and understanding. However, the stay is a very forgettable one. This review is solely based on the overall experience staying at this apartment. It is to create awareness for others in case they have kids and would like to stay here as it has 2 Queen bed accommodation. For context, it is a condominium with dual keys unit, meaning it has one main entrance followed by 2 separate doors for each unit. I do not want anyone to been through what we did. We check-in late around 5pm, the kids are excited when they entered the room happily and shouting. Out of a sudden, we heard a guy shouting from the other unit, we opened the door and he shouted at us angrily. He said he is staying here and he is sleeping, do not make any noise. We obliged and tried to keep our volume down. We went out after and back to the stay around 10pm. My kids suddenly cried and he shouted “Hello!”and slammed the door loudly. We will all stunned and speechless. The kids are only 3 and 8 fyi, and I have to tell them to be quiet for the whole time while staying here. What’s the joy of staying here for? To be honest, it is late at night at level 39 and with an unknown mental unwell guy just beside us really makes our stay a very stressful and threatening one. We slept for the night as it is late and the kids are tired. We left the stay asap the next morning.
