We stayed at the Hotel Dorsett, and overall it was a pretty positive experience, with a few small things to note.
The best parts: The room is very spacious, and the bathroom is super large, with both a bathtub and a shower. The bed is comfortable – though a little firm, and you can feel movement when the other person moves. The curtains, lights, and USB chargers are a great, convenient touch. Breakfast is good, especially for Asian tastes – Western options are limited, but what they have is tasty. The location is fantastic: the metro is just 50 meters away, right at the doorstep. The area is nice and recommended. There was some construction nearby, but it didn't bother us at all.
Could be improved: The only real negative point is the elevator – it takes quite a while.
Bottom line: Highly recommended for the space, cleanliness, and location. If you don't mind waiting a bit for the elevator or a slightly firm bed, everything else more than makes up for it.Dari€ 36

Had a truly restful stay! This is hands down the most comfortable hotel I've stayed in during all my business trips over the years. The materials used here are far superior to many resort brands. I arrived during the latter half of the May Day holiday, and the front desk clerk upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite. The bedding was even more comfortable than Hilton's, perfectly balanced in terms of softness and firmness, and the bed was huge. The room was incredibly quiet, and the surrounding area felt upscale and safe, even when returning late at night. The guests were high-quality, mostly business travelers and international visitors. It truly lives up to Yanlord's reputation – the bathtub, shower, and attention to detail were excellent; even the lampshades were spotless. The entire suite was quiet, safe, and odorless, and it was convenient to get anywhere. Housekeeping was discreet, never disturbing me, so I could sleep in until the afternoon and still enjoy the quiet. This past week truly helped me recharge. Service: Extremely satisfied! Before checking in, I communicated that I was traveling with a child and hoped for some kid-friendly arrangements. The staff responded promptly and meticulously decorated the room with balloons and a small astronaut lamp, which my child adored. They also gifted a chestnut children's picture book and a little lion fridge magnet, and had child amenities, plus two cute rubber duckies, ready in advance. My child was thrilled, and we, the adults, were equally pleased! 👍 When my child wandered to the front desk, a staff member proactively gave them a puzzle. During check-in and check-out, they were very helpful with inquiries and directions, and assisted with luggage, demonstrating excellent service.
Daily Double Ritz-Carlton Executive Lounge Benefits: Five meals a day truly filled us up! The main courses were cooked fresh by a chef on-site, and other dishes, though not numerous, were exquisite. I particularly loved the wide selection of salads! There was a great variety of alcoholic beverages, and you could even mix your own cocktails in the evening. All the staff were wonderful and thoughtful. Although the late-night meal was primarily for drinks and children couldn't dine, they brought back several hash browns and chocolates for my child, which was super satisfying. For breakfast, we went downstairs for a wider selection. The panda latte art was adorable, and they even offered lunchboxes for kids to take food with them, very kid-friendly! 👍
Hygien: The room was very clean, amenities were promptly replaced, and turn-down service was proactively offered. Coming back to a clean and tidy room after a day out truly lifts your spirits! 👍Dari€ 116

My stay at The St. Regis Chengdu was a fantastic experience. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the St. Regis Suite. The suite was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable…a true home away from home.
The breakfast spread was excellent, with a great variety of quality options. The highlight for me was the dinner seafood buffet, the spread was really impressive and the addition of hotpot made it even more special. Absolutely delicious.
Service throughout the hotel was outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the seamless check-out, every staff member we encountered was attentive and professional. Gym team who took the time to walk us through the facilities personally was a small gesture that made a big difference.

Returned to Chengdu from Kangding on May 30th and once again chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Gulou (Chunxi Road branch). The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the subway, making it super convenient to get to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. The rooms are modern, elegant, clean, and tidy, with great soundproofing. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful; from the moment we stepped into the hotel, front desk staff members Xiao Peng and Xiao Shi greeted us enthusiastically and brought out our stored luggage. Knowing we don't smoke, they even upgraded us to a non-smoking room, which was very considerate. The hotel breakfast offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western options, and the restaurant staff are friendly and polite, with food items replenished very quickly. Highly recommend! Incredibly convenient location with lots of shops and restuarants nearby and the metro station right across the street. The staff were all very lovely and polite and the facilities provided were sufficient. The main drawback of our rooms were the strange layout. There was no private bathroom, only cubicles for the toilet and shower and an open sink. The cubicles had frosted glass which I found was a bit awkward and did not provide enough privacy. Additionally the toilet cubicle was directly across the window which made things more uncomfortable. I also found it frustrating that all the settings would reset after leaving the room - ie. on your return the tv would automatically turn on and the curtains would be drawn back. The design was also very dated and looked very old, the fenced windows had white cracking paint and the floors which are depicted to be carpeted in the images are actually just wooden floors. Lastly, I had some concerns with the plugs being a bit flimsy, the cover would pop off which I thought was a bit unsafe.Dari€ 41

”Details determine success, service warms the heart” – this sentiment is perfectly embodied at the Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu. First and foremost, a special thank you to Xiaoling at the front desk! My stay was just a regular booking, but Xiaoling not only greeted us warmly but also thoughtfully upgraded our room for free. The new room offered a fantastic view overlooking the beautiful Jinjiang River, instantly brightening up our entire trip.
What moved me even more was an incident during checkout. I accidentally left an important item in the room and was extremely anxious. I contacted the hotel with a glimmer of hope, and again, it was Xiaoling who immediately calmed my nerves and quickly coordinated with housekeeping and concierge to search for it. Thanks to her efficient communication and the hotel staff's sense of responsibility, my lost item was found quickly and returned to me in perfect condition. This level of professionalism, addressing guests' urgent needs, is truly invaluable!

Check-in was super fast, and the front desk staff were really enthusiastic and helpful. The room was spotless. When I checked out, I even got a little panda souvenir, which was a lovely touch. It's clear they put a lot of thought into the guest experience, which you really can't force. The room itself was incredibly comfortable and exceeded my expectations. My stay this time was incredibly comfortable and pleasant! The front desk lady was so gentle and spoke softly, and she was really enthusiastic and thoughtful. She even called me before check-in to remind me about my reservation, which was incredibly considerate. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to get a free room upgrade! The front desk even wrote down the delivery address for takeout, which was super convenient~
The room environment was fantastic, with green trees right outside the window – it was so relaxing to look at. All the room facilities were fully equipped too. Later, I accidentally left my necklace at the hotel, and when I contacted the front desk, they were incredibly patient and helped me search for it. Extremely satisfied! The room was spacious and well-lit. It's a serviced apartment, so it came with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, and even a washer and dryer. The hotel is near Chunxi Road, just a short walk away, which is quite convenient. It's also about a ten-minute walk to the subway station. There was some renovation happening at the hotel entrance, but I didn't really hear any noise. I got a room upgrade when I checked in. There's a laundry room with dryers next to the elevator, which is very handy. Daily housekeeping was also prompt.

The front desk staff were absolutely amazing, super attentive and patient. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The hotel's location is fantastic, very central and convenient for visiting nearby attractions. Tianfu Square is just a 5-minute walk away. This Home Inn I booked for my trip to Chengdu was easily the best I've ever stayed at; the experience was truly fantastic. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a lovely fragrance, which was incredibly pleasant. The front desk staff were also very warm and attentive during check-in, always greeting guests with a smile. Their service was impeccable – always available but never intrusive.
The hotel's overall decor has a distinctly British feel, and both the staff's attire and the interior design were excellent. The environment is quiet despite being in a bustling area; the whole place felt very peaceful.
The hotel breakfast was quite good, offering local Chengdu specialties like 'xiaomian' (noodles), 'chaoshou' (wontons), and 'douhua' (tofu pudding). The cleaning staff were also very friendly; the 'auntie' cleaning our room even brought us extra bottles of water when tidying our room during our extended stay.
The hotel is conveniently located in the city center near Xinnanmen Metro Station, just a 150m walk away. Having the metro so close made getting around and visiting attractions incredibly easy. Chunxi Road is just one metro stop away, and popular spots like Kuanzhai Alley and Wenshu Monastery are also easily accessible. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including 'chuan'er' (skewer) and hot pot restaurants. Just a short walk down University Road, you'll find even more local snacks.
This place is truly excellent, the price is reasonable, and it exceeded all my expectations. It's a fantastic base for exploring Chengdu – highly recommended!Dari€ 29

The surrounding environment is very quiet and not noisy at all. Xiaoyuan at the front desk service is warm and efficient, check-in and check-out are very fast, and there are questions and inquiries patiently answering, which makes people feel very comfortable.
The room is clean and tidy, the wireless 🛜 is very high-speed; the TV is also very clear; then the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the sleep is particularly practical. The facilities are complete, the quality of toiletries is good, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and the details are in place.
