Macau taxis are easy to spot, with the common ones featuring a black body with a yellow roof. You can usually find them easily near the airport, hotels, ferry terminals, and popular tourist spots. Although taxi fares are slightly higher compared to buses 💰, the convenience and time saved make them a great choice, especially for first-time visitors travelling around Macau.

Look for taxis with the “For Hire” sign displayed on the roof, then simply wave to stop them. Taxi queues are also available at the airport, ferry terminals, border gates, and hotels. Just wait in line and board when it’s your turn.

Download taxi booking apps such as Macau Radio Taxi / eCall Taxi Plus or other taxi apps, enter your pick-up location and destination, then wait for the taxi to arrive at the designated pick-up point.

Taxi fares in Macau are regulated by the government, so you don’t have to worry about different prices in different areas.

  • 💰 Starting fare: MOP 21 for the first 1,600 metres
  • 💰 Distance charge: MOP 2 for every additional 220 metres
  • 💰 Waiting charge: MOP 2 for every 55 seconds of waiting time (e.g. traffic jams or stops)

They even gave us three delicious egg tarts! The only downside is that it's a bit out of the way, and the uphill walk can be tiring. However, there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel.

This is a great hotel with excellent value for money. It's right next to the Sands Hotel; you can take the Sands shuttle from Gongbei Port, and after getting off, the hotel's back entrance is just across the road. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the Macao Science Center. If you want to explore the city center, public transport is convenient; to get to The Venetian, you can take a shuttle from the Sands Hotel. The hotel has a lovely Portuguese flair, with a swimming pool and a gym. The rooms remind me of the Royal Park Hotel in Hong Kong. The front desk staff were very polite, attentive, and warm. Seeing that I was traveling alone with my child, they proactively asked if I needed a king or twin beds and checked for available rooms for early check-in. When I needed extra water or pillows, housekeeping responded very quickly. The restaurant service was also great, with a nice Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. Breakfast was busy, requiring a short wait, and the dishes were more Western, but my child said the bread and pastries were delicious, and there was a good selection of juices. The lobby staff were also excellent; they proactively opened doors for guests and even gently reminded children not to run in the lobby. The only thing I think could be improved is that the mattress and pillows are a bit too soft.

Environment: The Broadway style is noticeable as soon as you enter the hotel. StarWorld and Broadway Macau are connected, making the hotel a one-stop destination for shopping, a water park, a Ferris wheel, dining, and even a concert venue. It's perfect for families with children who want to stay and play within the hotel for a few days. Service: Housekeeping is prompt every day, and the service is very timely and enthusiastic.

People always compare Macau to Las Vegas, but let me tell you right now: Macau and the hotels on the Cotai Strip are in a league of their own. Having been to Vegas a few dozen times, I’m used to hotels feeling smoky and chaotic. This was the exact opposite. We took the free, direct Parisian shuttle bus straight from the Macau Port, and from the moment we arrived to the time we checked in, everything was incredibly smooth and organized. I can't even imagine what a seamless experience like this would cost in Vegas. To top it off, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to an Eiffel Tower view room absolutely stunning! We were already loving the service. Plus, as a fantastic perk, hotel guests get free access to the Eiffel Tower deck, which was an awesome bonus. The room was immaculate; my wife immediately noticed how spotless the all-Italian marble bathroom was. From the registration hall to the lobby, the fine paintings and decor feel ultra-premium. The main reason I picked this hotel was for the kids' pool and water slides. Vegas isn't exactly built for kids, but The Parisian makes families feel so welcome. The pool area was amazingly fun, and with lifeguards stationed everywhere, it was clear that safety is their number one priority. Another huge perk is that it's connected to the other Sands hotels like The Venetian and The Londoner. You can walk from hotel to hotel without ever stepping outside, giving you access to endless high-end luxury shops and incredible restaurants. On top of that, the hotel offers free shuttle services to all the popular tourist destinations around the city, like Senado Square, making sightseeing incredibly easy and budget-friendly. Given how amazing the experience was, you'd think it would cost an arm and a leg. But visiting in July, it was incredibly affordable roughly the same price as staying at a decent hotel off the strip in Vegas. We will definitely be coming back!

I arrived in the evening, so check-in was quick with no queues. There was a 500 deposit, which was promptly returned after check-out. I'd requested a non-smoking and quiet room, and they absolutely delivered on both. The air conditioning in the room was incredibly quiet at night, which was a blessing for someone like me with sleep issues. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, and it's super convenient for shopping. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower had great water pressure – very comfortable. The only downsides were that the shampoo and shower gel weren't great (I ended up buying my own from the supermarket), and I found the low ceilings a bit oppressive, especially with the dark carpet. However, the pillows and duvet were very comfortable. The mattress was an older spring type and quite bouncy, but it was fine sleeping alone.

First time staying at this hotel! I'd passed by it before and thought it looked nice, so I took the opportunity to experience it this time! As soon as we entered the lobby, the front desk staff at check-in were very enthusiastic! They even upgraded our room! We were so touched! The room was great and very quiet! The sea view was private yet open. We originally booked without breakfast, but my family suggested we eat breakfast before heading back, so we bought two breakfast buffets at the lobby service desk. There were so many food choices, and the taste was excellent! A really good experience 👍 Hope to come again next time ☺️

The hotel's location is great, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets nearby on the ground floor. The only downside was the poor pricing on Trip.com. I had to cancel my reservation due to a change in plans, and Trip.com immediately charged me a 100 cancellation fee! When I asked the hotel front desk, they said I could check in or cancel without any issues. Soon after, I received calls from two customer service agents. The female agent was helpful and offered solutions, but the male agent was rude, saying, 'This is a fee charged by the agent; I'm helping you negotiate, understand?' It's ridiculous that a big platform like Trip.com has to defer to these 'agents'! No wonder people around me say Trip.com is going downhill and struggling. I will never use this terrible platform again.

The room was quite spacious, and there were plenty of power outlets, which was very convenient as no adapters were needed. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and helpful. The location is excellent, just a short distance from the Grand Lisboa. We took a shuttle from Grand Lisboa Palace, where we had dinner and shopped, then caught another shuttle to Grand Lisboa, and it was just a 5-minute walk to the Metropark Hotel. There are restaurants next to the hotel, and on Rua de Outubro, behind the hotel, there's a bus that goes directly to the Border Gate, making transportation very convenient. It's also a leisurely 10-15 minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's. I haven't included internal photos as they are quite standard; the exterior shots provided were taken from inside the room, offering a wide, open view. The complimentary bottled water was a bit too small.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, which takes around 15–20 minutes even with luggage. There’s also a nearby public bus stop that provides convenient access to the Cotai area. The housekeeping staff were friendly as well. Overall, the stay was good, although the design feels a bit old-school. The in-house casino has also ceased operations since November 2025.

I'm a native Macanese, and this time I booked a room for my friends. I think Macao hotels generally do an excellent job with hygiene and environment. Although this hotel is an older building, it's well-maintained, and the price is reasonable – definitely worth recommending. However, my biggest disappointment was the female front desk staff member who handled my check-in. Her attitude and handling of the situation were truly unacceptable, simply awful. If I didn't have such a good temper, I would have definitely given her an earful. She kept saying I was too late, and that the room I booked didn't have a single bed, so only twin beds could be arranged. Is 2:30 PM really 'too late' for check-in when the hotel's official check-in time is 3 PM? And her facial expression and tone were just terrible. She said there were no room type options and only twin beds were available if I wanted a single bed. After a few unpleasant exchanges, she finally said she'd upgrade me. Although she did eventually upgrade me to a king-size room, I still can't understand why the service could be so poor. For a hotel in Macao, this is completely substandard. I went to check in in good spirits, but ended up feeling very upset. Even with good facilities, without a casino, the hotel might already be seeing fewer guests, and then to offer this kind of service... it immediately gave me a bad impression of this hotel. I won't choose to stay here a second time. Thank you.

Got my forgotten charger back last month, thank you! It's good to know that lost and found items are handled, and it would have been even better if I had received a call. Even though it's not valuable, it reflects a hotel's management level, and I definitely give it a thumbs up! 👍🏿 This time, I came with my family again and overall, we were quite satisfied. Just a suggestion: please check the air conditioner in room 17948. There's a resonant echo that you can only feel when you lie in bed, so I didn't sleep that well. But my family was happy, so it doesn't really matter.

The room was very spacious and even had a bathtub, which the kids loved. It's really close to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, making it super convenient to get to The Venetian, then head to The Parisian for photos of the Eiffel Tower, hit The Londoner for some Instagram-worthy shots, walk to Rua do Cunha for snacks, visit the Taipa Houses Museum for more photos, and finally, take the cable car at Wynn Palace in the evening to see the night view. Plus, you can catch a free shuttle from the StarWorld Hotel across the street! We had some rain this trip and missed out on a few sights, so we'll definitely have to come back again!

I've always wanted to stay at the Galaxy Macau, but unfortunately, there was a thunderstorm warning on the day we checked in, so we couldn't enjoy the water activities. It was a bit disappointing. However, staying at Galaxy is incredibly convenient; there are plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options available. The hotel itself features a classic Portuguese resort style, with spacious and grand architecture, lush gardens, and a strong tropical ambiance. While the hotel has been around for a while, the room's cleanliness was just so-so. There was actually a bunch of hair on the bed, making me question the thoroughness of the cleaning and even whether the bedding was changed after the last guest. The hotel's biggest highlight is its unique location. It's right next to Hac Sa Beach, just a few minutes' walk to the sea. Watching the sea in the morning and enjoying a stroll in the evening breeze were both very pleasant. Compared to the hustle and bustle of downtown Macau, this place is less crowded, quiet, and very private, making it ideal for family trips, relaxation, and a slow-paced vacation. The hotel's service was pretty good. There's a shuttle bus to the city, and the facilities are comprehensive and well-equipped, including garden relaxation areas, leisure trails, and sports fields, suitable for adults to relax and children to play. Overall, the Grand Coloane Resort is one of the most suitable hotels in Macau for a relaxing getaway. There are no crowds or commercial noise, just the sea, evening breezes, greenery, and a peaceful living environment. If I'm looking for a pure relaxation trip, despite the distance, I would consider staying here again, but only if the room's cleanliness is guaranteed!

They also gave me a subway card, which was unexpected. I didn't plan to take the light rail, but I experienced it and went to the Mazu Temple, which was very popular. The breakfast was OK, but not very good. There was one problem, the shower water temperature was unstable, and it was scalding from time to time. This is unacceptable for a hotel that costs 5,000 per night. In short, I didn't like it very much, nor did I dislike it very much. I probably won't book again.

I booked this hotel for a show and our anniversary. The facilities are great, it has everything you need, and the transportation is super convenient. There's a light rail bridge on the second floor that goes directly to the Galaxy Arena. It's incredibly well-connected, making it easy to get to MGM, The Londoner, Galaxy, The Venetian, Grand Lisboa Palace, and Wynn Palace! **Cleanliness:** The cleanliness was also excellent. Housekeeping was very quick, and I didn't find any dirty spots. **Environment:** The environment was even more impressive. Even though it was an end room, both sides were glass, so the natural light was superb! The hotel interior was also very quiet, and the soundproofing was excellent. **Service:** The service was truly exceptional! From check-in to check-out, it was very thoughtful! All requests were met without a hitch. The executive lounge and breakfast were delicious, and plates were cleared quickly. The cocktails in the lounge were also very good! A special shout-out to all the staff at the Grand Club (especially the Korean gentleman whose service was truly outstanding). I will definitely choose Grand Hyatt again if I have the chance! A truly comfortable and relaxing stay. I originally booked a Cultural Landmark room, but because it was on a lower floor and quite noisy due to road construction downstairs, the front desk quickly helped me upgrade to a full sea view suite. The turndown service was, as always, warm and cozy, and the gentleman by the poolside was also very attentive. I tried four drinks at the bar; honestly, one of them was quite mediocre, but the manager's service was excellent. He carefully followed up on the taste of the other drinks and even waived the charge for the mediocre one. The front desk staff, as always, maintained the Mandarin Oriental's high standards, even reaching ceiling-level excellence. They were enthusiastic, resourceful, and thoughtful. 👍 This time, I also received a very special souvenir for the first time. I will definitely be back!

The room was generally okay. I booked the cheapest room for a bargain and paid an extra 50 to upgrade to a room with a window. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location, making it very convenient for shopping. The room's cleanliness was very good, but the floor drain wasn't sealed properly, leading to a noticeable bad odor. Also, the shower gel dispenser was hard to press; it only dispensed a pea-sized amount with each press, so you had to press it many times. The room size was neither too big nor too small, which is decent for the Hong Kong and Macau region. The TV was an older model, and there weren't many channels available. I didn't book breakfast, but there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby. Overall, if you're looking for great value, this is a good choice. I'll definitely book this hotel again in the future.

This is actually a great establishment. Location wise is easily accessible, price wise is decent, has a good privacy. I would say this hotel is more of a Chinese mainland kind a type. It does’t have proper coffee in the room, most of the staff speak Mandarin instead of English, the decoration and stuff are too. What I meant by privacy is that this hotel’s lobby is on the 38th floor and there is a separate elevator to go down to the room floors. However, to go down to the entrance is either go back to the lobby and change, or go to the gym and restaurant and take other elevators at the back. It is like a maze. My room view is magnificent, facing Macau tower, the bridge, and the Sands. The gym and pool are also nice. In general, this is such a proper family hotel with a decent price. It would be so much better for me personally if they have Netflix as well as proper coffee like Nespresso.

The hotel breakfast was of high quality, without noisy crowds, and the dining environment was comfortable. The room facilities were well-maintained, and there were two housekeeping services a day, so it felt like a fresh start every time we returned. The hotel pool is beautiful, directly facing the Clock Tower, perfect for a leisurely vacation. Thanks again to all the customer service staff at the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located between MGM and The Venetian, making it easy to access both. It balances a great shopping experience while avoiding large crowds. Personally, I would recommend The St. Regis over larger hotels.

My parents brought their grandchildren to Macau Peninsula, and they wanted a hotel that offered shopping, dining, and easy access to UNESCO World Heritage sites. The hotel is situated in the heart of Avenida Comercial, boasting a grand and striking European palace-style exterior, with its crown emblem being instantly recognizable. Transportation can also be slightly inconvenient, especially if you have luggage. The staff were generally okay, though communication can sometimes be a challenge due to limited English. Overall, it’s a practical and budget-friendly option for travelers who prioritize location and space over luxury. My cousin and her husband were satisfied with their stay and would still recommend it for short visits in Macau.

The moment I opened the room door, I felt relieved. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the pristine white sheets, and even the creases gleamed with cleanliness. The bathroom tile grout was sparkling clean, and the neatly folded towels were still warm from sterilization. What truly put my germaphobe mind at ease was that the carpet didn't have even the slightest odor. The service was excellent, and the hotel is very close to the attractions with convenient transportation, as the bus stop is right next door.

I booked this hotel last minute and was honestly blown away by the value. Even at a reasonable price, the room and bathroom are incredibly spacious, clean, and stylish. The bathroom features both a shower and a bathtub, stocked with all the necessary amenities. We were celebrating a birthday and asked about decorations during check-in. Although they don't offer that service, they surprised us by sending a complimentary cake to the room free of charge. Such a thoughtful gesture! The location is also a major plus, situated just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Lisboa hotel, and you can also catch shuttle buses. I cannot recommend this place enough. Excellent stay!

The location of this hotel is superb. Just across Largo Do Senado and with all the shops and restaurants nearby. For a budget hotel, I wouldn’t be expecting that much, the room was not big but just perfect for solo travelers or couples. The bedsheets, pillow covers and blanket covers were made of paper which felt quite weird. The towels were disposal paper ones too. They were generous though giving me 4 packs of towels for a 3-day-stay. The only bad thing about the room was the sound proof. I guess the doors are paper thin or either the gaps were too big. I could literally see the lights from the corridor from my room. Some tourist from China were very loud during mid night I had to open the door and shhhh them. The worst thing is the smell of cigarettes coming from other rooms. No matter what time, there was cigarette smell, even when I’m sleeping. It’s like sleeping in a club or a bar, and it feels terrible. Unless they fix the door problem (I guess the smell is from the huge gaps from the door), I won’t be staying here again.

The location is super convenient, it's clean, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. There's a bus stop right by the hotel that goes directly to Gongbei Port. The hotel staff were very welcoming and even allowed me to check in early since a room was available, which was great because I didn't have to wait until 2 PM.

This is my second stay here. Last time I had a triple room, and this time a standard double. The prices are very reasonable, there are lots of small shops nearby, and it's not far from the Ruins of St. Paul's. I'll definitely be staying here again.

I've lost count of how many times I've been to Macau, probably over ten. And almost every time, I've stayed at this hotel (it's my go-to whenever I'm on the peninsula), so it's always been in my favorites. The location is super convenient, right in the heart of the peninsula, making everything walkable. The hotel service is fantastic, from the front desk staff to the friendly guy (always smiling and polite) who opens that heavy glass door at the entrance. The room hygiene is excellent – clean and meticulous. The cleaning ladies on the floor are all wonderful. I don't usually need much housekeeping since I'm a bit of a clean freak (I disinfect things like the remote, doorknobs, and light switches with alcohol upon arrival). From my own cleaning process, I can tell the hotel has outstanding hygiene control. I typically stay 5-6 nights and don't need much service, just water refills. But the cleaning ladies are always enthusiastic about getting me what I need and even ask if I need anything else or if I have enough supplies. It's really heartwarming. See you next time, Macau!
