My gold jewellery was stolen at this hotel, so I cannot recommend it at all. This hotel has security issues that should be fixed. This is what happened: -I left my gold jewellery visible on the table of the room and I put the ‘do not disturb’ card on the door and left the hotel at 13 pm. I did not realise that the door is not locked when you close it; you need to push a button from the inside that locks the door, so, in fact the door remained always open while I was out. When I came back at night, the jewellery had disappeared. I remember perfectly where it was; I checked everything upside down, inside out just in case, but it was not there. -The following morning I talked to reception who explained the way the lock works and I admit I was astounded. In fact, I realized I was able to open other rooms of the same floor, because they were not locked (they were empty rooms, ok, but still). So I went to talk to the manager of the hotel, who quickly dismissed any housekeeping fault, as he claimed no one had entered my room due to the ‘do not disturb’ card. However, there are no security cameras, so ANYONE could have entered my room, particularly when I left my key at reception, so the hotel had the info that I was out. -I said I wanted to call the police. The hotel called the police first and explained the case, so I got the impression this was for the hotel’s benefit more than mine. I filed a complaint at the policy office and came back. Hotel manager sent two robust staff to turn mattresses upside down, move closets...etc. to make sure no stone was left unturned, but jewellery was not there. I am not blaming anyone here; I am just saying that any person booking this hotel should know this, in order to extreme precautions. Make sure you lock the door, lock your belongings, and one tip: never tell reception you do not want your room done when you leave the hotel. I did this (in order to let housekeeping relax about cleaning my room for the rest of the day), and now deeply regret it.

Galaxy hotel is a good place to stay, if you want a mid-way experience. First of all, the prices are not high, so your expectations also shouldn't be :) Located 30 minutes away from downtown of Athens, with a great tram and bus connections, this place is conveniently located for also the big city experience and the beach experience. Rooms are clean and equipt ok. However, the space is limited and if your room is looking at the beach (which looked so attractive when we were booking our stay) this is where the nightmare begins! Just in front of the hotel is a boulevard, which seems like a real high way! Although the rooms have a nice balcony, we never used it since the dust and the noise is so bad and very disturbing. Breakfast offer was ok, a simple continental breakfast with a limited, but nice selection of courses. However, the courses are the same every day. Although it is a ok place for a 3 star hotel, and we didn't expect too much of it for the price we paid, the boulevard experience has lower our impression much more.
