I don't usually post negative review but I am annoyed about this one. I booked 4 rooms in December 2022 through booking.com. I booked a refundable rate which allowed me to cancel by February 5th 2023. Our plans changed in January and I wanted to cancel. I was able to cancel this in booking.com for free. Key word here being free!! The confirmation from booking.com said there would be no charge. Just under 2 weeks after cancelling I had still not received a refund. I emailed the property and heard nothing back. I chased up again and received a reply with a copy and paste of a policy which is NOT specified on booking.com. ”Groups: when booking 3 apartments or more we require a 30% non-refundable pre-payment of the total amount 8 weeks prior to arrival. The remaining amount is charged 15 days prior to arriving day and is non-refundable. Group bookings can be cancelled within 48-hours of making the reservation if the terms are not acceptable.” Booking.com only says ”When booking more than 3 rooms, different policies and additional supplements may apply.” No mention of the above policy and specifying ”may apply” indicates that somewhere along the booking process I will be notified of this policy if it applies to my booking. Indeed, I find out later on, this is in the email confirmation. Not when booking the rooms. This is misleading and putting customers at risk of losing money, as I have. After some emailing back and forth with the property and me stating that booking.com cancelled my booking without any charge, I should be entitled to a full refund, I was informed that I would still not get a full refund and they would keep 30%. Booking.com allowed my to cancel for free. If this is not the case then it should have warned me that I will incur a charge for cancelling. This policy needs to be clear and up front before a customer makes a booking. Due to this confusion, I am now out of pocket by 194 euros, annoyed and would not recommend until they specify the exact policies of making a booking with them upfront. Not hidden in emails after making a booking. What you see is what you should get. Not have added on extras after. Having booked other properties around Iceland through booking.com their fine print and policies are clear and you know exactly what you are committing too.

We stayed at this apartment for 4 nights. It was easy to locate and in a quiet area, near the supermarket and main shopping area was just a short walk. Ample parking and location made it easy to get to other parts of Iceland. Gaining entry was via a keycode on the front door and then also our room door. Apartment complex was quiet. Our room was quite small but sufficient for our stay. The room was also very warm, but a fan was available for use and it was used whilst we were inside the room. Our apartment was on the basement level which did not include a lift (stairs only), if I stayed again I would consider this as it did become tiresome (especially with suitcases) Kitchen area and fridge were a good size. Laundry facilities were reasonable. Nil issues with the bathroom. Extra linen was available. A good stay in Reykjavik. Can recommend

We stayed here for two nights by the end of our holiday in Iceland. It is located a few minutes drive from the city centre. The studio was of very good size with wide window. The bed and the pillow are reasonably comfortable. Towels are provided every other day but fine to us. The table which was supposed to be for dinning is pretty small though. We did not use the kitchen which has limited but sufficient utensils. The bathroom is on the small size but quite functional with strong shower. But there are a few things. First, there is no on-site staff and the entry was keyless by codes which are supposed to be emailed to us. We have not received the email. We called the number displayed in the notice on the ground floor which was immediately answered. It was found out that the email provided by expedia.com (I made booking through Agoda) was not related to me. The second problem was that, after resolving this without delay, we entered the room and found that the bathroom door was damaged to the extent that it could not be shut. Called again and this was not resolved by the first staff without returning a call to us as promised. We called the second time when Maria was a lot more helpful but was not able to contact the manager after many attempts. This was not resolved until the next day. The third problem is about parking, there were no instructions or advice as to where should we park, except for display of some non-English signs.

The guesthouse itself was nice enough. Note that if you stay in one of the economy rooms, you will only have access to one bathroom per 5 rooms (unless you are willing to walk back to the main house and use one of the bathrooms there). This was not an issue during my stay, but I woke up super early to avoid it becoming an issue. The real issue for me was the lack of communication. I ended up needing to spend an extra 50 dollars on long distance calls because this business failed to check their email or Facebook messages. On top of that, I had to call twice because I was given incorrect information the first time. Note that booking this property is a risk if you book through a third party (Expedia etc) because you may not receive the email with instructions on how to check in (this is why I had to call repeatedly after they failed to answer my emails).

We had a lovely stay at the Freya Guesthouse! The family suite was larger than I thought it would be, the beds were very comfortable (even the pull out sofa that my son stayed on) and the never ending Nespresso was much appreciated! The location was great! we could see Hallgrimskirkja from the courtyard outside our suite; bakeries, restaurants, shops, and the rainbow road were a 10 minute walk (or less) away. This was close to everything, but not too close so that we could still go to sleep at a reasonable hour. We were there over a weekend and it was very quiet! Ingo was great and very helpful - they even provided us with bandaids for my son after a minor scrape:) Would absolutely stay again.

Lokasi hotel sangat baik, kurang dari sepuluh minit berjalan kaki dari gereja di pusat bandar. Tempat letak kereta percuma di depan pintu. Biliknya sangat bagus, saya tinggal di dua bilik yang berbeza. Satu bilik sangat moden, ia adalah bilik 4. Bilik 3 agak lama, tetapi mempunyai dua bilik berasingan, satu daripadanya mempunyai katil double dan satu lagi mempunyai dua katil single. Bilik 4 ialah katil besar, dua tandas, ruang tamu, dan katil sofa di ruang tamu! Terdapat TV Lg yang besar, yang boleh disambungkan ke komputer dan telefon bimbit. Tuan rumah mempunyai kucing comel dan anjing besar. Kakitangan yang bersih sangat sopan dan baik. Kecuali model bilik bujang, kebanyakan bilik mempunyai dapur, jadi anda boleh memasak hidangan anda sendiri, yang sangat selesa. Saya tinggal di sini selama enam hari kerana pengasingan dan saya sangat menyukainya. Jika anda sangat keliru tentang tempat tinggal, saya akan mengesyorkan anda untuk mempertimbangkan yang ini~

We had a really good stay at alfred's studio. from the moment we booked until check out, things was working fine. Good communication. Great location. Only 10 minute walk from Bus terminal. 3 minute walk to supermarket, and cafes, bars main walking street just 100 meters away. studio was superclean and looking like new. Everything was working fine. Fallout bed was not the most comfterble though. small fridge, coffee and water boiler. would stay here again next time. Great vaule for your money.
