Rumah tumpangan di Arnhem

Just a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity

We stayed here from the 10th to 12 august while visiting arnhem. The proximity to the mainline station and central shopping area is brilliant. Hotel is easy to find, check in was quick and very friendly and the hotel is in good condition. We got the double and the single room. The single is very sparse, shower, toilet and single bed with not much else, double room was much better with a bath, 2 large single beds and much more space. The breakfast in the mornings was very tasty with a large selection of cold meats, fruit, yogurts, cerea, bread and spreads. There was also bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages, which were very good. We intend to return here on our next trip to Arnhem

We arrived about midnight 9thmay to attend our brothers funeral 6 of us two others previous booked earlier that day. I had booked through there main reservation number agreed the price only to be hit with city tax which I had asked did we have to pay at the time of booking and no was the reply told the receptionist and she said we must pay as she hadn’t been told otherwise,asked if we wanted to book breakfast for €17 after a long day I said we will see in the morning and her reply was it might be slightly dearer then. We decided in the morning we would just go for breakfast only to be told €21 pretty shocking ok we’ll go in very sp**** breakfast my brother in law asked for sausage as there were none left they were not happy very poor service he did eventually get them by that time no egg left same again. Certainly will not ever use this hotel the communication between staff no good either we booked a 6 seater for our early departure on Sunday morning, morning staff new nothing of it

I cannot recommend Hotel Modez highly enough. This is the third time our group have stayed here and I have never been disappointed. Over the past three years, I have been in regular communication with the Hotel, and their assistance in arranging the trip for our group of 30 was flawless, always a timely ,courteous and pleasant response. Not only did they assist me in organising the stay at the hotel, but they went above and beyond and made our trip extra special by arranging transport for us, which I was finding particularly difficult from my base in Australia. Every staff member is super friendly and courteous, the hotel is in a great location, the rooms are immaculate, and the breakfast is fresh and tasty.

The Van der Valk Hotel in Arnhem is very easy to reach from the Motorway and the room was clean and exactly what we asked for and then some. All members of staff were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. A special thank you to Roy who went out of his way and helped me to a late night snack. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious.
