We stayed here on our first couple of nights in China after arriving from Vietnam. The hostel was a brilliant place to explore Kunming, you couldn't ask for a better location. Super peaceful area with the nearby parks and gardens. It gave us a really good impression of the country. Social hostel where we met many other international travellers and even went on to explore more of Yunnan with them. The room was fine but basic, totally ok for the price. However the corridors with shared bathrooms nearby stunk of poop for our entire stay which was strange. Food was great. Beautiful views from the rooftop area. We personally had no issues with service but another traveller we met at the hostel mentioned poor service at the front desk when checking in and was totally ignored whilst the member of staff was locked into ******** on their phone

The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to get around and explore nearby attractions. There are also plenty of food options right outside the hotel, so finding something to eat is very convenient. The room is spacious and comfortable, which adds to a pleasant stay. The facilities are quite complete, including a washing machine, and breakfast is provided as well. The service is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff who make you feel welcome. However, one downside is that there is no elevator, which can be a bit challenging if you are carrying large or multiple suitcases. Overall, the hotel is still very comfortable and offers great value, so it’s definitely highly recommended.

Bilik itu sangat selesa dan bersih. Kebersihan di kawasan awam juga diwujudkan. Ia adalah asrama belia yang sangat matang! Semua orang sangat mesra, sama seperti kawan, dan senyuman apabila kami bertemu antara satu sama lain benar-benar menghangatkan hati saya! Makanan di bar restoran pun sedap😋 Apabila anda keluar dari asrama belia, belok kiri dan anda akan melihat pasar yang popular dengan banyak sarapan pagi yang lazat. Ia juga sangat dekat dengan stesen kereta api bawah tanah dan boleh dikunjungi dengan berjalan kaki.

NOTE: This hostel is 20 minute taxi ride away from the Old Town and the bus terminal to Yulong and 40+ minutes away from the train station. As such, you can save time and money paying a few dollars more to stay in the Old Town (a taxi is around 20 yuan each way to the hostel). The positive of the hostel is that, like other Desti hostels, there are large community spaces to chill and socialize whether Chinese or a foreigner friend. So if that is your goal, then this is a great option. Unfortunately, I found this to be the least maintained and clean Desti of the three I have been to. The curtains on my bed were covered in gross stains. And guests in the room were loud after quiet hours. They also placed us near the shower, some guests hung their underwear so it smelled. Not the hostel’s fault, but perhaps this is who it attracts? Fortunately, the staff did apologize and offer a solution once they understood the issues.

Perfect modern hostel, with traditional style! It offers all a backpacker would need: superclean and cozy bed. No heating but a delightful warming pad, in a silent large dorm with window light. Plagues and light bed. Big towel provided and all kind of soaps in the clean spacefull showers. Running hot water. Loundry. Many common spaces, where you can enjoy the sun light reading or playing pool and a marvellous ******* style room, where you can keep warm relaxing around the stove, while eating or tasting tea. Hot and cold water provided. The staff is gentle and helpful and I do thank them for the pleasant staying.

A great stay for solo travellers looking to meet like-minded people. I met some wonderful travellers here and even teamed up for day trips, followed by relaxed happy hours in the evening. The place is well-maintained, with daily housekeeping for both the rooms and common areas. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll enjoy spending time with their friendly dogs and cats. They also offer bike rentals, making it easy to explore the surrounding area, and the team is incredibly helpful with travel tips and recommendations. Located about a 10+ minute walk from Dali Ancient City, they provide convenient pick-up anytime or hourly drop-offs into town. Overall, a warm, social, and comfortable place to stay.

Lokasi sangat baik. Hanya tinggalkan stesen Kunming dan berjalan ke kiri. Ia berdekatan dengan stesen kereta api dan mudah dicari. Terdapat sebuah pasar raya kecil di tingkat satu dan beberapa restoran murah berdekatan. Saya tinggal di bilik 10 orang yang paling murah dan tiada masalah. Saya dapat bekerja dengan komputer di lobi. Bilik mandi adalah luas dan selesa. Saya ingin tinggal di sini lagi jika saya pergi ke Kunming, jadi sila keluarkan had umur (sehingga 55 tahun).

I liked the hostel that i extended my stay. Even though its away from the old town. There's a bus stop on the main street and I would take a didi back when it's past 18:30. Some of the staff speak english so that was really helpful, the room was clean, they even upgraded me to a 2-room dorm which helped me relax from the trip. The WC area is spacious, it's great to have the water spray next to the toilet and heated seats are a plus. I found the laundry area with shoe cleaning machines very useful. They also have a restaurant/bar on-site in the lounge area and I really liked the food there, had three meals and it was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

This hostel is slightly raw, feels like hostels i stayed in years ago. Regardless, if you're well prepared with toiletries and amenities, this shouldn't be an issue given it's a hostel after all. The highlight is that it is very social hostel and very easy to make friends and make good memories! I enjoyed my 4 nights there!

The guys managing this hostel are super nice and friendly. The lady who welcomed me was incredibly kind and smiley, and the manager was also very cool, he even showed me some amazing local cuisine. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and they provide all the essential amenities, plus some nice extra touches, highly recommended.
