After reading some negative reviews, I decided to give this place a try, as I felt I could completely accept the downsides. And it turned out to be really great because I met some wonderful people! Terry was like a resident assistant and a tour guide rolled into one – reminding me to blow-dry my hair, taking me to delicious places to eat and fun spots to visit, and recommending amazing food. They were truly exceptional! The women I met there were also incredibly awesome, and I'll definitely be keeping in touch with them!

The apartment is very clean, it's been cleaned every day. Bed is comfortable and bedroom is quiet. Living room is beautiful. The owner is friendly, helpful and hard working woman. Location is near railway station and there is a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood. Thank you for hosting me!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lily Pad Hostel and would happily return. It offers excellent value for money and is a great base for exploring Dali. The hostel is in a good location, just a little outside the main town. It’s an easy walk, although you do need to cross some busy roads, which could be a little challenging if you’re travelling with small children. The room was clean, and the bed sheets were spotless. We also had a lovely view from the landing. There were some friendly resident bunnies wandering around, and we enjoyed having a ping pong table to use during our stay. The only minor downside was that the shower temperature was a little inconsistent, switching between hot and cold. Aside from that, we were very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay. We would thoroughly recommend Lily Pad Hostel to anyone visiting Dali and would definitely stay here again.

After being terrified by plenty of hostels around China, I finally found this place – home. Plenty of guests extend their stay, from days to weeks and months, and keep coming back even after that. If you are looking for a place to relax, recover or to just breathe, then this might be a place for you. There are plenty of things to do in and around Jianshui. You could rent a bicycle here and visit Tuanshan on a daytrip, for example. You won't regret staying here.

A friend recommended this hostel, and it was easy to find with a great atmosphere. It's clean and hygienic! The owner also organizes a lot of activities, like communal meals, stream trekking, mushroom foraging, and watching the sunrise. They also recommend many delicious places to eat and fun things to do nearby – you won't be disappointed! It's fantastic! I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Dali! Superb! You can also play board games and karaoke!

True to its reputation as a seasoned hostel, the location is absolutely superb – no need to even mention it. After finishing the Halfway Hiker's section of Tiger Leaping Gorge, you can just turn right into the hostel. What's more, among all the dorms I've stayed in at various hostels, the cleanliness here is the best I've ever experienced. It's incredibly tidy.

This hostel exceeded my expectations! The location is super convenient for getting around. My room was tidy, the bedding was clean, and the bathroom was spotless with a stable hot water supply. The owner and staff were warm and easygoing, patiently recommending local routes and offering helpful tips to avoid tourist traps – very thoughtful. The facilities are comprehensive; the communal living room is great for relaxing, chatting, and even taking care of some personal tasks. Overall, it's quiet and not noisy, ensuring a good night's sleep, making it excellent value for money. It doesn't feel overly commercialized and has that authentic travel atmosphere. Whether you're on a short layover or a longer trip, this is a fantastic choice. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time. Highly recommended for backpackers!

Location was great that it was a walk away from the Kunming Railway Station where I needed to be to leave the city. I liked how it was near a lot of food places! The volunteer Evens was an interesting person to talk to when I learned about his background in what he does as an occupation and where he is originally from in China. The owner Winni was a nice person as well and I appreciated and enjoy her and some of the other guests that cooked for us the night that we had a big dinner. Thank you for being part of the chef crew Winni. Everybody who stayed at the place was respectful and considered towards one another in the way that they conducted themselves. Was able to go along with the rules of this hostel because it fit my daily habits. Nobody had any habits that bothered me. Not really into the hostel type of stays, due to lack of privacy. Was just happy to stay at this place since it was pretty much right at the doorstep of the Kunming Railway station where I can catch my train on time where I wouldn't end up getting lost in the city which in turn would end up missing it. The only negative thing that I didn't like was that the bathroom did not have bath towels and just regular hand towels where I would not be able to dry myself very well after showering. Because of this I didn't want to take a shower at this place and the fact that these towels were used repeatedly from other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable wanting to use it. Would come back to this Hostel again if I happen to have to come back to Kunming again where I needed to be near this train station to catch at train there.

I stayed here during my short stopover in Kunming. The staff were warm and friendly, and patiently answered my questions about sightseeing routes. The hotel is conveniently located in a quiet spot despite being in a bustling area. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and odor-free. The common areas have a coffee bar and vending machines, and the facilities are very modern. The guests were all well-behaved, and it was quiet at night, making it perfect for backpackers.

I stumbled upon this international hostel by chance and met many foreign friends, all vibrantly enjoying their overseas trips. The ground floor features postcards of beautiful scenery from all over China, and a fish tank. The stairwell has a felt board recording thoughts and impressions from friends around the world. As you go up, there's a Western-style restaurant with professional chefs, bookshelves displaying rare books, a pool table, and a ping-pong table. Further up are the rooms, and the rooftop has a terrace perfect for relaxation, watching the sunset, team building, or just hanging out. There are abundant green plants and a small pond with many fish... Nearby, there are many famous attractions like Cuihu Lake, Yunnan University, Zhu De's former residence, and Kunming Old Street. Service: The front desk lady speaks fluent English, communicates smoothly and politely, and even offered to help carry luggage upstairs. Facilities: All equipment was in working order, and supplies were clean and hygienic. From Guizhou Province, I wish everyone an unforgettable trip in Kunming!
