Location is very near to beach, easily accessibility of market. All types of restaurants are very near. Government run iCentre is on walking distance. Full value if tarif paid for one night. In my view if you are visiting this tapo then this location would be really good for kids also.

My wife and I loved this bed and breakfast. It has wonderful views of lake taupo with beautiful backyard/deck to sit and enjoy breakfast out doors . The host was very attentive to our needs and even drove us to a Huka falls which was fantastic. The coffee service and Full breakfast was excellent. There is a nice restaurant walking distance away as well as a local kayak rental. The room and bathroom was well appointed and it had an access to backyard and the great views . 5 stars for sure and we highly recommend it.

The ease of being able to check in and out without going to reception is a useful feature (we arrived in good time to see the helpful gentleman on reception to check in). We did not use the full facilities of the lounge and kitchen. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was nicely a presented, comfortable bed and functional for what we needed during our stay in Taupo. We ate at Thai delight, a short walk away and had a lovely meal that came promptly and with good service.

Lake Taupo Lodge is over the top amazing! Gary and Shirley have done a beautiful job of keeping this property in the best of condition! My husband and I stayed in the Wright Suite for the last 3 nights and it was wonderful! Beautiful shower, wonderful room and comfortable bed, lovely outdoor terrace to view the beautiful lake and beautiful sunrise with the sounds of nature all around you. The grounds are outstanding with beautiful gardens and lovely topiary everywhere. Excellent coffee maker, fantastic breakfast and great recommendations for dinner in Taupo. Taxi service was easy and quick and we found many fun bars, etc. in town. We even were able to watch our hometown team from the USA play Monday night football. Recently stayed here for only one night but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were made feel welcome upon our arrival and also provided recommendations for dinner. We enjoyed an abundant continental breakfast in a wonderful dining room with a view. Rooms were well appointed with a fabulous view from the veranda. A cheese platter was also provided at check in which was great to have a nibble on the veranda and admire the fantastic view. Would definitely recommend.

Been meaning to stay for years as rest of family have many times. Loved it, BUT....... security needs updating. Maybe they are doing that as toilet security door was missing and so was front access barrier! Had some very suspect people using toilet and shower facilities this morning. Definitely didn't look like guest and didn't have caravan or tent. By the look of the face tattoos looked like and behaved like gang members. Without security gates or doors they will just come in. Also some people had a lot of food- meat stolen from fridge. Sad. :( ALL THAT SAID- it's still a lovely camp. Facilities are clean, and good location next to hot pools and good sites with reasonable privacy on most sites. Would stay again.
