It is located at center of Takayama. Great counter customer services with good #english speaking. Simple yet nice hight tea area at lobby. #Free welcome drink ticket for each person with term and condition of use, got light Asahi #beer, coffee and tea of choices. Advantages: 1. Value Hot-spring hotel, Around #Rm300/pax for a room, room is big and comfortable bed for sleep. 2. Got #Parking lots 🅿️ around 20 lots. 3. A lot of #VendingMachine in the hotel with beers, coffee, tea and soda drinks. 4. Indoor and Outdoor #Onsen available. Also have #PrivateFamily Onsen. 5. There is also a #Sauna at outdoor area. 6. Sky #bar with great environment and and relaxing music at the same floor with Onsen. 7. Great #breakfast with Japanese and Western Style. Disadvantages: 1. Great ryokan in a place that was way more touristy than I expected. Great food, very heavy on Hide beef, and huge size kaiseki menus, so be aware and perhaps ask them to scale down a bit in advance. Impeccable service, cleanliness, food, shuttle from and to the ryokan. One thing to point out is the quality of the water of the onsen, one of the greatest I've ever experienced. I would have loved for the men / women onsen to be switched on days vs morning / evening though.

Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

福地温泉は奥飛騨温泉郷の中でもいかにも山中に来たというちょうどいい寂れ感があって、この元湯孫九郎も温泉が充実しつつも秘湯っぽい雰囲気がいいと思います。 価格帯的にもサービス的にも、旅館としては中級なので、高級旅館のようなおもてなし感を期待してると少し残念かもしれませんが、温泉メインでちょっと奥地らしい旅館を求めてる層にはしっくりくるんじゃないでしょうか。 正面玄関の雰囲気と比べると、部屋は改装してそれほど経っていないのできれいで、設備等も申し分ありません。デイベッドのある部屋に泊まったので、湯上りにそこでだらだら本を読んだりして、とてもリラックスできました。 あちこちに置いてある小物類もかわいくて良いアクセントでした。 温泉は混み具合にもよるのかもしれませんが、旅館の規模に対して内湯・露天風呂・貸切風呂と十分にあり、泉質も変えてあるので何度も楽しめます。バスタオルが人数より多めに用意されてるのも、温泉をエンジョイしてほしいという配慮が感じられました。 料理はそれほど凝ったものではありませんが旅館の雰囲気とも合ったこの地域らしい内容で、飛騨牛もおいしく、量も十分ありました。 それ以外にも、庭や高級音響設備の部屋など、ちょっとひまだなと思ったらウロウロするところもあって、2泊3泊といても、のんびりする目的なら飽きずに過ごせると思います。時期は限られるでしょうが、7月上旬の庭にはホタルも飛び交っていて、テラスからは星空もきれいで、手持ち無沙汰になりがちな夜も楽しめました。 接客の人によるムラも、この規模の旅館なら味と思える範囲で、困ったことなどはありませんでした。 全体に小規模旅館なのでオーナーのセンスが色濃く出ている部分もあり、そこが合うか合わないかで印象も変わってくるかもしれませんが、インテリアやスタンスなどトーンが整っていて、旅館としてバランスがとれていたと思います。

It is probably the most conveniently located hotel in Takayama, just right next to the Takayama JR train station and bus terminal. The room I stayed in has excellent view of the city, the train station and the surrounding mountains in the distance. As with most Japanese hotels, the room size is not large, but is comfortable enough for a couple or including a small child. There is even a washing machine and a microwave oven inside the room. The hotel staff are friendly and speak good English. Restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and there are also Onsen bath facilities. The restaurant does not serve lunch and dinner need reservation. There are restaurants near the old town area, which is about 10 to 15 minutes walking distance East of the hotel. The location of the hotel near to the JR station and bus terminal make it an excellent base station to explore the nearby tourist locations like Shirakawa and other places for day-trip visits. It is also easily accessible from Nagoya, which is just 2.5 hours away by local trains. Shirakawa-go is 50 minutes away by local bus from the bus terminal beside the train station. The Takayama park (South East of old town area) is definitely worth exploring especially during the autumn when the fall foliage is really spectacular.

Country Hotel Takayama is the perfect home away from home in Takayama, Gifu Japan.This hotel is located right across the Nohi Bus Terminal which is right beside to Takayama Train Station. When you get off from the bus, you will immediately see the building. Aside from their perfect location, this hotel also has a KONBINI (are Japanese convenience stores) Family Mart at the ground floor, open 24 hours. Morning markets, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Old Town Street, Hida Kokubunji Temple and Nakabashi bridge are a few tourist location you can easily access by walking (10-15 minutes) from the hotel. I was here last February 24 to 26, 2020. The room is quite spacious for me, got a single room type but I think it can accommodate 2 people in it. I was able to booked it online through Agoda.com for Php 4,024.78, not bad! It has complete basic amenities you can find in a room including a comfy sleeping robe. Room is super clean and smells so good. Considering I wrongly booked the smoking type room. The only downside I had about the room was that the heater was broken. It was so hot inside, thanked God it was winter time so I just slightly opened my window. So cold breeze from the outside can get in. Overall, Country Hotel Takayama is HIGHLY RECOMMEND aside from their perfect location. Staff are very good, speaks English and really helpful and accommodating. Their Manager helped me booked a taxi who is going to picked me up at the highway on my route to Gujo Hachiman. Because taxis in Gujo Hachiman are booked a day before your arrival and they don’t speak English at all. And If you’re a Filipino, you are most likely going to bumped into one of our kababayan who is working on this hotel. So far, she’s the only Pinoy here and she speaks Bisaya, from Davao City.
