Very nice location, friendly and helpful staff!! Free breakfast is great, delicious coffee and bagels. But there are not enough toilets. And the kitchen is quite small so it gets very crowded during dinner hours (plus people like chatting in the kitchen while watching a pot of water boiling). I didn't want to line up to use the stove or microwave to reheat my food so I had raw dinner during my stay. If you plan your meals and cooking well enough you should be fine.

Good customer service, a/c and clean pods with TV, and privacy compared to open bed dorms. Safe environment and lockers for valuables security, prime location, easy access to property and rooms, spacious kitchen to prepare mills, friendly staff, highly recommend

We received great service during our stay in Quebec City. Two roomy rooms for our two families. The kids loved the recreation areas: darts, foosball, billiards, TV room. The adults appreciated the friendly service, from the booking process to our actual stay. We could put our food in the refrigerator, re-freeze our ice packs which is very handy when you’re on a family road trip. Quebec City did not disappoint and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The Auberge is right in the old city so you can walk everywhere.

Came to Quebec City for Carnaval. Chose this hotel for the location and price and it delivered on both fronts. Right in the middle of Old Quebec, we could see Chateau Frontenac from our window and were across the street from parking and surrounded by restaurants and shops. 5 minutes to the river and 5 minutes to Carnaval site. Very helpful staff and cozy accommodations. Room had bed, TV with Roku, sink, desk, chairs, dresser, closet, and lamp. Soap and 2-in-1 shampoo provided as well as towels and face cloths. Bathroom was close and had everything you need. Check in and out was a breeze. Clean all around. Do not book this accommodation if you struggle with stairs, as there is no way to get into the building otherwise. We stayed on the 4th floor and the stairs were steep and uneven but we didn't mind it and it added to the charm. Ceilings can be low in some places. Only lost one star because of the bathroom, it was difficult to access the toilet without ducking or hitting your head on the sloped ceiling, and the bed was a little uncomfortable.

This is a very basic hotel I didn’t expect much but event then I was unpleasantly surprise. The room is small and sort of refresh but I would not call it perfectly clean there was an old leftover pizza in the fridge and a hair in the bed something that made me nervous about the sheet being not being properly wash especially since they were wrinkly. Breakfast is awful, there’s no facilities like a gym or anything and service is the bare minimum. The room I had next to the elevator was noisy.

Came up from the States for a weekend visit with friends without any expectations since we just found this place from a Google search, but it was an absolutely perfect fit for us. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything clearly, as well as giving us directions to cheap parking. The dorm room was neat and the decor everywhere was charming. The rooftop terrace especially was a lovely place to sit out in the evening. In the morning the communal breakfast felt lively but not too loud and the coffee was delicious. For the location and the price, all of us would absolutely return.

It's a self service hotel, which wasn't clear on the hotels description, upon arrival I didn't have the self-checkin instructions but I called the hotel number and they were quick to send me an email and even allow me to check-in earlier. Check-out was also really easy and I was even able to check-out later too. Only downside was that there wasn't an option for breakfast as it states on the hotel description. It would've been great if there were mugs or cups in the room and a plus if there was also a selection of teas as complementary. There was no where nearby that I could get a bottle of water or a hot drink, so it'd have been nice to have something in the room. Lastly for any light sleepers - the building is not sound proof so you can easily hear other guests talking in the corridor or going up the stairs etc. Other than that good stay overall - thank you Auberge la Chouette

In early May, I stayed for a couple of weeks at the Auberge St-Jacques because my husband had a kidney transplant at The Glen. We have stayed at this establishment many times in the past because he had appointments with specialists at the hospital and we always found the rooms were clean and well equipped, and the area was quiet. In addition, we always felt safe, and both the hospital and grocery stores are quite close. I had to stay at the Auberge a second time, at the last minute, because my husband contracted a serious infection and was airlifted back to the Glen for treatment, which lasted almost a month. When I checked in, the motel was almost full but fortunately, they were able to find me a room, which I kept for the entire time of my husband’s recovery. It was a very stressful time for me during both of my stays at the motel. However, everyone there was kind and caring, and I cannot thank the team enough for helping me endure such huge stresses. I will always cherish their many acts of kindness during an extremely rough time in my life. Everybody was thoughtful and caring. The team is absolutely fantastic! In particular, thank you to: Igor, Olesea, Ira, Irena, Nelly, Marina, Kate, Olga, Tetyana and Jacques… ; - ) Naturally, when my husband has other appointments in Montreal, or we simply go there for a holiday, we will stay at this motel. verry nice and clean like it good job trip

Stayed in a 10-bed dorm at M Montreal for the F1 race. So my experience during an incredibly busy weekend might not be the norm. Overall, I had a good stay. Details below. The Good: - Location. It's really fantastic from the airport, to the race track (for me), buses, metro and a Bixi bike station half a block away - Grocery store and pharmacy half a block away too, so convenient. - Kitchen in-house is large and well stocked. But fridge and shelf space is tight so FYI there. - Workroom for remote staff is large but not super equipped as a workspace with outlets. But a nice space and quieter than the kitchen - My dorm was a private room converted into a dorm so we had a bathroom in the room and small kitchen (but with no supplies). Having the sink and fridge was really helpful while staying there. - Privacy curtains and plugs in the bed are great and the locker below is large and works for most bags and extras. - Wifi was solid the entire time, even when doing video and audio calls. Stronger in some parts than others but still good. Items to be aware of: - Neighborhood. It's fine but not great. Lots of unsheltered and unsheltered with mental health issues on the street at all hours screaming and making noise. Police presence around there was constant while I was staying. - Courtyard noise. On weekends it can get loud in that courtyard at all hours. - The mattresses are better than I expected based on other reviews, but they are not great. After 7 days my back was absolutely killing me. I truly don't get why they don't have something with better support but if you're staying for 2-3 days, you're good, longer, be aware. Overall, I would stay again but not for a long visit. The mattresses are that awful. There were still a lot of good points of the hostel though so I would recommend it to others. - Water pressure in shower is awful, but functional.

Or, close to it. Convenient location and lovely, clean rooms. The restaurant was closed; however, there was coffee at the concierge desk. The hotel key card provided access when we came home late. The central location is just far enough from the bars to permit a good night's sleep. I am sure the staff is bilingual and could have reverted to English, so I doubly appreciate the patience with my son's first francophone experience.

Campus residence turned hostel for the summer. Room is small but clean and mostly comfortable although there is no air con. There is only one sink in the shared bathroom on each wing of each floor but there are individual sinks in each room. Location is close to public transport (bus) but there is a small walking distance from the bus stop. 10 minutes walk away from Metro (Canadian chain grocery store) and shopping mall with customer service that speaks English (most people in the area speak limited English). Overall an enjoyable stay comparable to the price.

Nous avons passés une très bon séjour. Nous sommes restés 4 nuits. Le motel est est très propre, les serviettes sont changés tous les jours. Il y’a une machine à café, un frigo et une table pour manger dans la chambre. Il y a la climatisation pour l’été. Très bonne localisation, proche de Québec (avec les transports en commun), proche des chutes et du parc Jacques Cartier. Vous avez des commerces à côté (supermarchés, Tim Horton, Mcdo). Parfait pour passer quelques jours ou juste une nuit.
