PPengguna TetamuThis is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. As someone who doesn’t speak Chinese, the staff do a great job speaking English at a level you can understand and have a conversation at. The area is amazing; you can walk into the French Concession and other amazing local spots with cute cafes, restaurants, and shopping within 10-30 minutes. Additionally, my room was very clean and the facility is modern.
I never write reviews for any establishment but this hostel went above and beyond. I lost my passport during my stay and the staff spent 2 whole days helping me locate my passport. The night I realized it was gone, Jing, one of the staff members took me to the local police stationary at 3am and translated the situation for 2 hours. Lip, another staff member, spent the next morning translating on the phone with the police and other government services until my passport was found. The entire time they were very positive, reassuring, and went beyond their job description.
Although I typically stay at social hostels with more English speaking tourists, this hostel surpassed my expectations on all levels and made my Shanghai experience memorable. I would 100% recommendation staying here and thank you Lip and Jing!

PPrawit NgamsiripolDengba hostel is quite a busy venue with great location,full of teenager energy and vibes,fully booked and a busy place. Some room need T.L.C.at some points such as the bad position of wall mount cloth hanger( the bathroom ) too close to the shower faucet and other fixing. Too many visitors but less maid or housekeeper to keep up especially at evening time.The staff are very helpful via Google translate app.The bed (bunk bed fixing) is quite loose and making squeaky noise every time I turned while sleeping. There are so many food Venues/ stalls in this busy area. So many Chinese youngsters love to order delivery foods. I would love to come back staying again. 4/5 satisfaction. You can ask for an ear plug if you have to sleep with a snorer 🤣🤣🤣. You can get here by taking Metro Line2. and walk to Lmall underground with A/C and following the MRT Line 9 Shangcheng road station exit 2

DDaRinNicHaI love the place. It is cheap, very convenient and the bedding are smooth comfortable. They have all amenities, modern toilet and very friendly staff. It is not noisy, especially after 11 p.m. -9 a.m. I will stay there again as there are places and cafes around that I didn't have time to visit yet. It is about 50 mins drive to Pudong airport.

GGolfer LiWe reserved the one & only big luxury room downstairs, very generous space. But all old facilities and lots of green mould on the ceiling and very mouldy smell. Front desk explained damage from leaking. In the case the room should not be on the accommodation market for sell.

HHeather AvaOne of the first reasons for selecting this hostel was the location and price alone! It is located in a very central part of Shanghai. It’s a busy street but located in walking distance of trains, many local restaurants and a short DiDi ride to main attractions.
The service is great! Quick, easy and efficient check-in process. The desk staff were great in communicating expectations and the area to lead me.
The bathroom areas are clean, showers within the areas. Blow dryers and sink amenities are present.
I enjoyed my nights rest due to the comfort of the bed and linens provided.

PPengguna TetamuVery convenient close to the Bund, but I had trouble finding it. It was located inside an office-like looking building. Once I got to the floor, the English name that was written on the wall was different from the one given here on Trip.
I was given a key card, that was of no use, because my room couldn't be locked. The room was filled with someone's belongings as if someone moved into the room. My bed was clean though :)

PPengguna TetamuGreat location right by the metro. The entrance was a bit hard to find but it is right to the right of the police station. The hostel overall didn’t seem super clean but fine, my room however had a bit of a smell, maybe because of someone eating something but I’m not sure. The bed cubicle was pretty clean and the light up mirror was a great feature. The mattress was pretty thin and hard but comfortable for me. For any western travelers, be aware that there are no regular toilets as with a lot of hostels in China. All in all it was a cheap and convenient stay for a few nights but it wasn’t a great experience.
