PPHUONG ANH PHAM LEThe hostel is good overall. The staff are extremely friendly, warm, and attentive. I had heavy luggage, and one of them helped me carry it upstairs (there’s no elevator) without me even having to ask the second time—really appreciated.❤️
The room is modern and clean. The cleaning lady sweeps the floor and takes out the trash every day. The location is excellent, very close to Subway Line 10, which covers most major tourist attractions, so there’s little need to change lines. Overall, it’s great value for budget travelers.
The only downside is that the bunk beds are quite squeaky. My first upper-bunk roommate moved a lot, and every movement felt like I was being shaken. Luckily, my second roommate was much gentler—she spoke softly and was very careful when getting into bed. That part really comes down to luck. You can still feel the bed move whenever the other person moves. If you’re a light sleeper, this might not be the best choice for you.

PPato LuI stayed for one night at Dengba Inn and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The location is excellent—just a few meters from the Zhenxin New Village subway station, which made it very easy to find and convenient for getting around Shanghai.
The hostel has a spacious common area that’s clean, well-lit, and perfect for relaxing or socializing with other travelers. It gave the place a cozy, welcoming vibe.
My room was also larger than expected for a 6-person dorm, with plenty of space to move around and store luggage. The bed was soft and comfortable, and although I had to make the bed myself (which was a bit unusual), the bedding was clean and neatly stored inside the locker along with ample space for my belongings. Once set up, it felt very homey and private.
Bathrooms and shared facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the whole place had a relaxed, backpacker-friendly atmosphere. Staff were polite and helpful, although I didn’t need much assistance during my short stay.
For budget-conscious travelers or those looking for an easy, comfortable place to stay near public transport, I’d highly recommend Dengba Inn. It offers great value for money, with clean rooms, a fantastic location, and a chill vibe that makes it easy to feel at home—even if just for a night.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaI reached the hostel around 3am and could check in but had to use the public toilet. I specifically indicated lower bunk when booked but was given upper bunk instead, meaning they do not answer the requests of guests. Do not order parcels to the hostel unless you want to dig through a lot of them as it is messily placed near the rack on the floor and you have to find it yourself which is exhausting, the reception will not help you and if you ask them where it is they also do not know. For this price it is merely a place for basic hygiene and sleep. Prepare your own towel, toiletries and slippers, they only provide shampoo and body wash and toilet paper. The pictures here are not exactly how the hostel really looks like, it's messier than I thought. Still ok place to stay for solo travellers.

PPengguna TetamuThe location was in a lively part of Jing'an, although a little far from Jiangsu Road Station. I enjoyed the bicycle ride to the temple nearby, as it was a pretty neighborhood.
Unfortunately, that is pretty much all the good things I have to say about this place. The facilities, the entire place in general, was old and run-down. I was assigned a bed at the far end of the room where my cell service cut off. Not really the establishment's fault but something worth mentioning in my opinion as the wifi was often slow. A section of the wood of the opposite bunk bed was black and seemed to be rotting. The air smelled moldy. The bed was huge though, which was nice. The place did not seemed to be getting the love and care it needed. The bathroom facilities were tiny with two shower stalls and a toilet (plus another separate one some distance away). It wasn't dirty necessarily but it wasn't exactly clean either. I did not feel comfortable using it however. None of the staff I interacted with spoke English (my fault for not learning some basic Chinese at least). I was disappointed by the quality I was met with since this is apparently the flagship? It wasn't cheaper compared to other hostels either.
I felt bad but had to shorten my reservation and moved to a different place. But your standards might vary.

PPengguna TetamuI had the small single room, which was very nice as a solo traveller - clean and simple. The bathroom's cleanliness was however quite questionable. The toilets were not cleaned regularly enough (overflowing trash cans and horrible odors at times), the sinks had not been thoroughly cleaned for a long time. Long-term residents leave their stuff everywhere and no one cleans up after them.
Apart from that, the staff was always nice, there are shared areas for hanging out, washing machine, water dispenser, and the option to buy water/ soft drinks at the reception and a vending machine downstairs. Toothbrush, slippers and disposable towel were provided.

DdontdiA great place to stay! The location is convenient, near a subway station and late cafes. Downstairs is a big shared and comfortable space, the floors are divided by female/male, elevator is working. Mind you: the rooms only have USB ports for charging near your bed and in the whole.

BBlackeyedsamuraiBooked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful .
2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding.
3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken
, everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead.
The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.

PPengguna TetamuGreat location right by the metro. The entrance was a bit hard to find but it is right to the right of the police station. The hostel overall didn’t seem super clean but fine, my room however had a bit of a smell, maybe because of someone eating something but I’m not sure. The bed cubicle was pretty clean and the light up mirror was a great feature. The mattress was pretty thin and hard but comfortable for me. For any western travelers, be aware that there are no regular toilets as with a lot of hostels in China. All in all it was a cheap and convenient stay for a few nights but it wasn’t a great experience.
