My biggest mistake of this trip to Yamagata is to book this hotel. It's a good hotel but it's in the middle of nowhere. You will want to stay around the city of Yamagata province which is also called Yamagata city just so you can get to famous tourist spots. However this is 4 hours away from all of these. I had to book another hotel so I can stay 1 day in the city when I wanted to visit these places and the traveling time just completely made me exhausted. It took like 1 day to go to a place and 1 day to go back. It was so terrible, I was crying. This place is closed to Shonai airport not Yamagata airport so I also had to book another flight from Shonai. I wasted so much money for transportation. It was such a terrible experience. However the hotel is incredibly beautiful with smart design in everything. I loved the onsen very much. If it was just a vacation/restcation for relaxing purpose or isolate yourself from the human word, it's the best choice for you. Since its in the middle of the endless rice field, there is nothing to eat except for paying very high price to eat at the hotel's restaurant. And the food was just okay. The beauty of this hotel was like a trap. Its like I was blind from its beauty and couldn't see all other disavantages.

歌人　斎藤茂吉氏とゆかりのある宿。　泊まった方や地域の方が詠んだ和歌が飾ってあり、部屋にも短冊、筆がおいてあります。 部屋数も少なく、食事も個室で頂けて、とても落ち着いた雰囲気の良いお宿です。　置かれた調度品や家具、食事に使われている食器など、こだわりとセンスの良さを感じます。 特に積もった雪を見ながら入る白濁した硫黄の香る温泉と山形の食材を使った優しい味わいの美味しい料理は目でも楽しめて、大満足。　食材などの質問へも丁寧に答えて頂き、山型の歴史や文化を知ることもできました。　バスターミナルやロープウエイ乗り場への送迎も嬉しいサービスです。

We had an absolutely an amazing stay in Tedoso. First, the hot spring there is amazing. We had never felt so relaxed in a hot spring before. The hot water and the cold weather is completely in harmony. Second, the service is sooooooo nice. They always welcomed us and out in a lot more effort than they needed to. Third, the environment is astounding. The Japanese style and the room is way beyond our expectations. The hotel is so neat and delicate, which made us feel like we’re in a whole new world. Last, the food is spectacular. We had food ranging from big and juicy pieces of sukiyaki beef to nicely cut and flavored sashimi. Our experience at this hotel is exquisite, and the price is highly reasonable, our family highly recommend you to visit Tendoso and give it a try. I’m sure you and your family would have a remarkable experience.

Excellent stay in a nice clean single room on the 7th floor which also has an ice machine and vending machine and microwave on the same level. Other levels have coin operated laundry machines too. Very conveniently connected to the Yamagata Shinkansen station!!

I always prefer to stay at Route inn Hotels as in most cases they have big public bath inside and as long as it is near the JR station(some times far from ). I enjoyed the stay this time too but I found the bad point for the first time here. I planned to eat out but as it was raining heavily, I decided to have dinner at the hotel. The choice of menu was very limited from the beginning and some dishes were marked '' not available'' . I ordered available dishes which was not marked ''not available'' but a server later came and said '' sorry no more stocks to make it.'' I ordered some available dishes and left without spending much time. I also had a breakfast there as the fee was included and needed long time for the long line of guests waiting. Again very limited kinds of dishes for breakfast buffet was put together in a very narrow space in a narrow restaurant which causes very slow action of guests taking foods. I would not eat again at Route Inn hotels though I would continue to stay there. You can go to Yamagata castle Park which was very near for a morning walk

細い急坂をやっと上がると老舗ホテルにたどり着く。外見は結構くたびれている。 宿泊した部屋はTWIN十分な広さがあり、ドリップコーヒー４ケ゚がマシーンと共に備えられているのが目を引くが古さは否めない。折から宿泊客が少ないせいか風呂は独占、枯れた良さがあった。食事は焼き肉を中心に大健闘であった。

山形駅から数分で着きました。アクセス抜群なのに安いんです。便利です。 朝食の申込締切りは前日夜の8時まで、880円です。朝食は朝7時から8時までで、受付と同じ3階です。 フロントは親切です。宿泊後に予約サイトを通じてメールをメッセージをいただきました。営業努力を感じました。

The location is good. Room is decent equipped with heater that I think is time to replace seems not working very well. The breakfast and dinner especially is very worth n nice. First night we had pork shabu shabu n second night lamb BBQ. The staffs in restaurants r friendly n good, especially the old uncle n Philippo lady . Can see all the local staffs sort of rely or keep letting the lady work only as she speak english. In other words, a bit taking advantage of her. onsen is also nice especially the outdoor with trees n snow feel. The front desk staffs r very bad. There is one young guy that just stand there and when I carry my little girl with one hand while another hand pushing luggage where I need to push the entrance door. During check in, even the philipino girl helped to push the luggage inside while the same guy just stand there n look. Another more serious attitude guy was the older shorter guy with mole on his face, I parked my car in front as there was no parking didn't know is the hotel's van lot, the guy spoke with to remove the car like scolding n yelling at me. Super bad attitude. Lastly the air filter in the room, the cleaning standard operating procedure should include cleaning the water tank n it's surrounding. Looks very dirty with mold. Overall is worth your money n experience just some negative experiences by some bad staffs. Not missing another issue is the smoking room, is the exactly at the entrance n next to the welcome drinks sofa (though with ventilation n dedicated room but still can smell the smoke)

一流の宿で間違いなし！社員教育がすごいできている宿です。最近は久しくなかったのですが荷物をお部屋まで運んでくれる系の宿でした。宿の内部が広くて庭も立派で豪華すぎ！まるで迷路のようでした。夕食は個室でいただけるので気楽です。料理の説明の方は若い方でしたが非常にしっかりしています。朝ごはんは山菜など野菜系が多く、麻婆豆腐とかコッテリ中華系料理も多かったので珍しいなと思い、とった麻婆豆腐が凄うまでした。料理は全てもちろん美味しいのですが印象に残っているのが米です。山形の米って本当に美味しいんですね。細長い品種でとても好みでした。泊まった部屋が３階だったからか部屋からの眺めは期待出来ないかもしれません。本当に言うことはないのですが、ひとつ言わせていただくとすれば、部屋から出ると必ず厨房から料理のにおいがしていたのが気になりました。

ประทับใจมาก ตั้งแต่เริ่มเข้าใจบริการจนถึงตอนเดินออกมา Staff พูดภาษาไทยได้ และมี Staff คนไทยด้วย ห้องพักแบบญี่ปุ่น ตอนค่ำไปใช้ Onsen แบบ Private ก่อน อยู่บนดาดฟ้า ชมดาวไปด้วย อากาศหนาวๆ แช่น้ำร้อนสบายๆ สุดยอด ตอนเช้าค่อยไปใช้ Onsen Public ก็ดีไปอีกแบบ อาหารเย็น และ อาหารเช้า สุดยอดมากทั้ง 2 มื้อ พนักงานก็บริการดีมากในทุกๆ ที่ แนะนำมากๆ สำหรับเพื่อนชาวไทยทุกคนครับ เดินจากสถานีรถไฟซัก 15 นาทีได้ ใกล้ๆ ไปเดินเที่ยวปราสาทได้ด้วย
