Spend two weeks at our favorite hotel in Platanias. The peace, calm and friendly staff is the main reason why we keep coming back to Ariston. Once again they delivered. We had a wonderful stay. Even the weather was superb the entire time. Also have to mention the delicious breakfast at the Olive Three. Thank you Sofia and Maria 🥰

Stayed at Porto Platanias beach in september 2024. We were given a very good room by a nice girls in the reception. But... thats about it. Cleaning of this room was not what you could have expected at a 5 star hotel. At least the same big bug stayed at the same spot on the bathroom flor for 3 days. For us there was no 5 star feeling either in the room or breakfastroom which was terrible ,cold, and noisy. If you got a table in the middle of the room it was impossible to talk over the table, a little better at the edges. About the sunbeds: then they are usually all taken early morning by ,towels, and sunbeds on the beach you have to pay for even as a hotelguest.We find the pictures of the beach misleading. In fact you have to cross a road to get there.And just to mention an older lady , Maria, in reception is not very helpful so I would reccommend that you turn to someone else if something is needed.Its sad when people uses their position against the costumers.For us it was not possible to look at this hotel as a five star, 3 stars or 4 the most. So if you are looking for a 5 star luxury this is probably not the right hotel.

A hotel thats states 5 stars but dont live up to more than maximum 3 stars. Location of the hotel is exellent. The staff in the reception needed some motivation, didnt even looked up and welcome us when we passed them. The room was not renovated, there was no rainshower, no coffemaker, no kettle. The bathroom was not bad but it was 20 years old and needed updating to match the description on the website. The cleaning were missed two days in a row and they tried to blame it on us. They did not change the sheets for two weeks. We also had to tell the reception that we were out of shower gel and schampoo. Asked for a umbrella for the terrace but never got a responce from the reception about that. We have all inkl and ate at the hotelbuffe half the time, the food was good but the drinks were horrible as many reviews say. The tv went on 3 times at 0400 three times and woke us, Welcoming three diffrent persons but never my name. Overall a bad experience and not even good compared to other 3 star hotels on Kreta. I cant recommend this and will never ever book it again

When we arrived at the beach resort, the receptionist says they can offer us a bigger and nicer room at their 'Village Resort' just across the road, the room maybe bigger but definitely NOT nicer ! It was not a 5 star, only a 2-3 star with plenty of ants and small flies in our room, even the shower-door was broken, every time we used the shower, water was leaking everywhere around the toilet. The restaurant was also very small, dark and dated, even the soup was cold ! I think all they want is to move you to the Village so they can sell your room to someone else !

Arragant people at reception. We reserved play court but the receptionist was really unwilling to serve. I do not recommend Porto Platanias Beach Resort for anyone. Crete itself is very nice and people generally are helpful. I have enjoyed of my first beach holiday except Porto Platanias Resort.

The best bar in Crete, this was an undisputed upside with a 5 stars service. Best drinks in the area by far! The place is fine with a good beach support, but the best part of the holiday for us was the aperitivo time with Panagiotis, top class bartender, global level.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a week during our visit to Crete. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff presented themselves in the best possible manner, making the check-in process smooth and efficient. The hotel itself, along with the standard of the rooms, was impressive. We had booked a standard double room, which met our expectations with a high level of quality. The room was well-maintained, and having a balcony was certainly a welcoming bonus. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest. The overall standard of the hotel was consistently high. I particularly appreciated the designated outdoor area for adults, complete with an adults-only pool. Additionally, there were several other pools, which were perfect for families with children. The dining experience at the hotel was delightful. We opted for the All-Inclusive package, which included breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the buffet restaurant, as well as one dinner at the à la carte restaurant. The dining setup, with a stunning view of the sea, was one of the highlights of our stay and something I truly miss. The food was consistently of high quality, with a wide variety of options, ensuring we always found something to enjoy. I also appreciated the set seating arrangement, thoughtfully assigned by the waiter upon our arrival at the restaurant. In summary, I am left with a very positive impression of the hotel. The only minor drawback was the scope of the All-Inclusive package, as it did not cover all types of beverages (such as bottled water), and the sun loungers on the hotel’s beach came with an additional cost. Although these were only small extra charges, I believe it would have been preferable if these were included in the package, even if it meant a slightly higher price.

WARNING! Definitely not 5 star! Please be aware that the “all-inclusive” at Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa is a scam. It should be called “some-inclusive” or full pension. All inclusive only apply at 1 bar on the resort and only to selected beverages. There is never more than two bartenders at a time. Keep in mind this resort have more than 300 rooms with approximately 2-4 individuals per room to serve. Hence it takes forever to get a drink. And once you finally get the drink the disappointment continues. I’ve tried all the drinks they have to offer. I won’t even bother writing more about the disaster than not a single drink was fully consumed. The same goes for food. All food is not included in “all-inclusive”. You basically have the option to eat at the only buffet restaurant and only what they serve at the buffet. You have the option to make a one time reservation for the a la carte menu. ONE time. If you want food or snacks after dinner you have to pay even though you already paid for “all-inclusive”. All beer is not included. Only thin draft beer. However you can pay to get other beers. All soft drinks are not included. Only local. If you want Coca Cola or similar you will be charged extra (it is available). All wine is not included. Only local red, white and rosé however they have plenty of other wines you can purchase. The Resort’s sunbeds at the beach isn’t included and you need to pay if you want to use them. We were 9 persons with 3 rooms and 1 villa. To summarize the experience: Rooms are acceptable but more like 3-4 stars. Location: 5 stars All-inclusive: 1 star (don’t fall for this scam). Bonus info: I’ve talked to one of the employees at the floor and asked about the “all-inclusive” which obviously isn’t all-inclusive, but more like “some-inclusive”. I was told that they knew but customers kept purchasing the package to they didn’t need to adjust anything even though the “all-inclusive” definitely wasn’t all inclusive.

Our recent stay at this so-called "5-star" hotel was incredibly disappointing, particularly because we were under the impression that we had booked an all-inclusive package. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of expectations. Despite paying for what was advertised as an all-inclusive experience, we discovered that most of the restaurants and bars on the property required an additional fee. This left us with very limited options, and the one bar included in our package was so severely understaffed that it took nearly 30 minutes just to get a drink. When we finally received our drinks, they were almost entirely ice with only a small amount of actual ingredients, making for a watered-down and unsatisfactory experience. To make matters worse, even the basics like getting a chair at the beach came with an extra charge, which seems absurd for a supposedly all-inclusive resort. The overall lack of transparency and the subpar service made our stay frustrating and far from relaxing. We expected much more from a "5-star" hotel, but this experience left us feeling deceived and let down. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you're seeking a true all-inclusive vacation. This place simply doesn't deliver on its promises.
