I am not someone who travels a lot but the Cortijo del Marqués is a place I keep coming back to. Granada is only a short trip and worth a repeat visit. After a day spending time in busy tapas bars, experiencing the buzz of the Albaicín and enjoying the view of the Alhambra it feels great to retreat to the peace and quiet of the Cortijo in the evening and enjoy a delicious dinner in the cosy restaurant. The hotel owners, Silvia and Eilko, always have good suggestions for an excursion, whether you are into culture or outdoor activities. This time I went mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada with a guide, which was a great adventure. Staying a day at the hotel, reading in the shade of a tree in the court yard or going for a stroll through the surrounding olive groves is also a great pastime and a perfect way to relax and wind down. I am already looking forward to my next stay…

This hotel is a hidden gem. From the scenery, to the decor, to the staff, and to the food it was a superb experience all around. We were there for two nights and enjoyed the easily accessible city of Granada but spent some quality time by the pool, walking the grounds of the property, and at the on-site restaurant. The food was extraordinarily tasty and the dining experience was 10/10. This was our first stop on our 10 day trip in Spain. We are halfway through and we still can’t stop talking about our stay here. We will be back and we will be telling our friends and family to visit!

Picturesque, relaxing, and utterly enjoyable. The property is beautiful and historic- our room had a lovely terrace overlooking the olive groves and claw footed tub. Do not miss booking in for dinner and expert wine parings. Tapas in the afternoon were also magnificent! All staff were amazing and helpful. Very convenient to Granada and we chose to make a two night stop on the way to Cordoba. So happy we did. Great to relax next to a crystal blue pool for a few days without throngs of people. Hiking on site or simply relaxing with beautiful views on a unique and beautiful property.

Pinch me! Feels like we were in a dream. Tucked far away from the main road this is an oasis. So glad we surreptitiously found this hotel online. The pictures don't do it justice. We spent one night here and loved every minute of it. We initially did not plan on having dinner here (it's extra, about 35 euros per person) but last minute changed our mind and they were able to accommodate us. Its a four course menu, portions are very small, but by the end of it we were stuffed. There is an outdoor area where you can relax, eat/drink, read a book etc. The swimming pool is in a quiet corner with a great view of the plains! Drinks available poolside. Some of the best tinto de verano I had! We would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet reprieve. My only pet peeve is that there is a slight up charge on everything - a typical tinto de verano in town might be 1.5-2 euros, here it's about 4-5 euros. Same with the tapas etc.

I confidently say Cortijo del Marques is overall one of the best hotel I ever stayed except really luxury hotels. The tranquility, the services, the friendliness absolutely excellent. The owners and the staff are super nice and very welcoming! The prices are very decent. If you are looking to relax or for a romantic gateway, don't think twice, just book them! 100% recommend, two thumbs up.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Cortijo del Marques and can definitely recommend it. The traditional buildings have been beautifully restored with so much character. Our room was Torreon (the tower) which is a lovely room with windows on 3 sides and a great place to chill after a hot day. The room and the common areas (inside and out) are spotlessly clean and with so many interesting places to sit and take it all in. The hotel is set in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of Granada but its only a short drive to get there if you want. We spent most of our time relaxing by the pool which was a godsend during the hot days. The food is excellent both at breakfast and in the evening. Each evening meal is a four-course menu and after the first night we didnt bother going anywhere else - it was so good and every night something different. The staff also looked after our dietary needs impeccably. Service is excellent; the staff are extremely friendly if its cleaning the rooms, serving drinks by the pool or in the restaurant. And finally, the owners Silvia and Eilko were so welcoming and engaging. They couldnt do enough for us. It was almost like staying at a friends house. Will hopefully be returning very soon.

We stayed as a family in July this year. A beautiful oasis in the hot Andalusia countryside. The hosts are excellent and very helpful for booking excursions and also recommending ideas for us as we stayed for 14 days. We stayed in Olios which was perfect for a family with teens. The hotel has some beautiful areas and early evening drinks listening to the water tinkling in the background was relaxing. Dinner was superb and varied, with an extensive, well priced wine list, in addition wines were chosen to best accompany the menu. The staff are very welcoming and friendly special thanks to Leyla and the lady with the bun whose name escapes me now. In addition we also enjoyed meeting the delightful Gerald who was a boon to walks and navigation. I would highly recommend this gem. Adios …I’m sure we will return.

We had a lovely stay in Cortijo del Marques and can recommend it without restrictions. The hotel is located in a wonderful area between thousands of olive trees, far away from the hustle and bustle of Granada, although not even half an hour trip by car. Here you can relax, swim, and enjoy your holiday like it was meant to be. In the evening, a four-course menu is served, and you will not regret booking half pension. The food is just excellent, and the staff is extremely friendly and do read your wishes in advance. We also appreciated the personl attention of the owners. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay near Granada, where you can swim, and you enjoy fine dining in the evening, then this is the place you should book.

Yet another marvellous family trip staying with Silvia, Eilko and the fabulous team at Cortijo del Marques. Escaping from the routine of work and school in the autumn was just what our family needed. The sunny warmth of Andalucia was matched by the gracious hospitality we enjoyed at Cortijo. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful olive grove. As we drive up the track, our spirits are lifted at the thought of wonderfully clean and comfortable rooms, delicious food, unobtrusive service and a warm welcome. We can't wait to return.
