if I will be in Alvarge again, W Algarve will definitely be the reason. Stunning property, superb services especially the housekeeping team, they “secretly” cleaned up our room while we go for breakfast/ dinner. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great, in-room dining was delicious, dinner was exceptional - lucky enough to enjoy live music during sunset - magical. Very much up to the brand standard. Thank you W Algarve.

I think this place is quite far from been a 5 star W service. The cleaning arrived around 6 pm and also we had a bad situation with the room cards (it stoped working on the 3rd night).
On the other hand the room by itself was spectacular, big and bright. F&B service was good as well.
To conclude - do not expect perfect work on reception but at least you can enjoy friendly restaurant staff.

This resort was amazing. It is a well kept property; very clean. The views were amazing. The location is centralized and is within walking distance to a nice beach club. The food & alcoholic beverages are over priced (in my opinion) but very good overall. I would like ro specifically shout out Henrique Santos from the front desk. He provided excellent service during my entire stay. You will not be disappointed by staying at this resort. Upon your arrival, please ask for Henrique. I plan to visit again in the near future.

We have just got back from an incredible week at W Algarve, from the moment we entered the hotel we were treated like royalty from an amazing team of staff, they can’t do enough for you we checked in with Lilly who is just so so helpful and friendly and whenever we saw her she always made an effort to check we were having an amazing time.. every member of staff we met couldn’t do enough for us, I spilt my drink on my jumper whilst on the plane and they washed it for me so it was clean to return home in. Our room was spotlessly clean and was cleaned twice a day during our whole stay and we would return back from the pool to Portuguese tarts, chocolates and even a letter with a keyring. The pool staff are equally as attentive and fantastic. This hotel is worth every penny, we stayed at Conrad Quinta Do Lago for one night before returning home but it didn’t even come close to the service we got at W

First and foremost, I want to put my hands up and be transparent and say that this had become one of my favourite hotels in Southern Europe. We are well travelled and spend a lot of time in other parts of the world, but I’ve come to find that this is our home from home in a country that I’ve been travelling to for over 40 years. Opening two years ago, it obviously went through the normal teething problems you would expect with a new hotel, post pandemic in a new location for the W brand. This never seem to impact our stays and from the outset we have found that this hotel is one of the most relaxed environments we have ever stayed in, and it has become one of our “go to” locations in Europe and we’re already planning a second visit this year. As with all W Hotels, the design & architecture is a key feature of the brand. The W Algarve has all the details and features that you would expect to find externally and internally. I have always found this to be a special feature of the brand and something I look forward to and this one does not let you down. Upon arrival you are greeted with a huge smile at reception by the W’s Whatever Whenever Team. This team is genuinely available to support you and meet your needs 24/7. In this respect, I must pick out Elly. She has now looked after us for the past two years and really goes the extra mile. Seek her out if you stay at this hotel. The majority of the rooms are very similar in size and layout. They are large and include having probably the best “hotel bed” I have encountered, and I always look forward to it when I return. There is a large and spacious/bright seating area adjacent to the bedroom as well as a balcony. This overlooks the swimming pool area and the complexes a whole and from which magic sunsets can be seen. The bathrooms are fully fitted to a high standard and there is a separate and large dressing room area. In addition to these “so called” standard rooms there are a number of larger duplex and suites as well as the W Residences which is available as well (providing 1 to 4 bedroom apartments). The pool area is one of my favourites. spacious with ample seating both in and around the pool and also adjoining. It is well served by The Wet Bar where the staff cannot do enough for you whether you’re sitting adjacent to the bar or around the pool where they are constantly seeking to see if you need anything. This without question is an outstanding feature of the hotel. In addition to the bar/restaurant adjacent to the pool the hotel has two further restaurants. Market Kitchen (where breakfast is also served) and Paper Moon. The former is a Mediterranean/Portuguese restaurant with an excellent menu utilising fresh produce obtained in the immediate area. They have recently added to the menu a wide choice of sushi. It has in effect become two restaurants in one without its being to the detriment of the quality of the food. We stayed at W for a week; our first holiday since 2018. We chose it as we liked the Marriott hotels we’d stayed at in Dubai. We arrive quite late on a Sunday night & the check in process was a little stressful as the music in the bar area was very loud so we struggled to hear or converse with our hosts. However our room was as the opposite end & quite tranquil by comparison. The first day or two we felt we’d made the right choice, lazy days by the pool, early evening on the balcony listening to the music from the ‘wet deck’; bliss. Unfortunately after that a very large wedding party arrived, some staying at the hotel & others nearby, but all using the pool. We’d hoped that screaming kids wouldn’t be an issue with it being mid September, but it was so we used the hotel bus to go to the beach instead where it was much more peaceful. The next day at breakfast the large party dominated the servers, so we felt ignored. We did get our coffees, but not what we’d asked for & the orange juice never arrived. After feeling so welcoming those 1st few days, this was a real disappointment. The breakfast offerings were plentiful, excellent omelettes made to order. Choices were the same every day. We did try a couple of the cocktail from the bar, they were unique to the hotel & €16 each. They were very tasty - we didn’t eat at Papermoon as there are so many other great options very close to the hotel.

Lost for words (again) with our latest trip back to the W Algarve! We've stayed twice in the residences and this is our 2nd stay in the hotel and we're absolutely blown away when the concierge upgraded us to the Extreme Wow room!! A lovely surprise for our long weekend break to relax but with the "on arrival" valet parking, glass of bubbles and upgrade to the best room in the hotel, our relaxation was about to hit another level! The room "extreme wow" can't describe enough in what you're about to experience when you walk into an immaculately designed suite, dripping with luxurious decor, overflowing space and breath taking views from the private terrace. "Extreme" to say the least ! It a huge suite which includes a private roof top swimming pool and large double balcony on the main floor. The jacuzzi bath was big enough to almost swim in and the view from the extra large bed was lovely (although shame the residences block stood in the way of the sea) The service (as always) was outstanding, the staff could not do enough and always with a smile. The breakfast was exceptional with a large range to cover all tastes. The staff even remembered us from our last visit, showing they take a genuine interest in you ! (missed Junior this time as he was exceptional) I used to stay in villas for our summer holidays however since discovering the W, it's become our sanctuary. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff seem truly passionate about ensuring your stay is always one to remember. This was our second trip, last time we visited was October. Thought we would try a summer break this time around. Really wanted to enjoy this 7 day family break but we had too many disappointments. Stayed HB in a king room, our son (10 years old) had a roll away bed.Our room was on floor 2. Although the rooms are finished well and large with a good terrace (2 seater sofa table and chairs) you do hear your neighbours. We were woken every single night by other guests passing our door(there is a gap and no soundproofing), some as late as 3AM. It is also important to mention that the bathroom is not private or closed off from the bedroom, only offers swinging glass doors for privacy. Food wise we struggled the most, HB is definitely not worth it, set menu in MarketKitchen very poor with only one vegetarian and one fish option to chose from, makes eating here pretty mundane over 7 nights! Appetisers are also very poor. Service is very much hit and miss depending on how busy they are.. one evening they failed to deliver one of our mains for 20 minutes after everyone else. No goodwill gesture offered which is a sample of the inexperienced staff they have. No mgmt visible to ensue service is smooth. Papermoon, the menu is much better but it lacks any atmosphere felt like almost a sterile environment. Getting a booking was always tricky so this needs to be booked well in advance. But the most interesting thing happened we ordered room service one evening and the reception declined it stating it was not included for HB, we had to explain to them that indeed it was our travel agent had confirmed this and it even stated that it was on their website. They wouldn’t believe us so came to our room to ask us for proof from their own website, I had to show them the information and the receptionist took a picture of the webpage. Only after this they agreed to allow us to use our HB. A very awkward and uncomfortable experience. Handled very poorly. No follow up from mgmt. to acknowledge their error. The pool was always very busy and unfortunately guests do race to get their towels down before breakfast, very disappointing to see but I guess it happens everywhere..loungers and towels need upgrading badly stained. Staff poolside are great though. Breakfast is fine, covers all the bases. Founds of the hotel are well kept, always landscapers working to maintain the image. It does lack some activities though would be great if they offered guidance on local options, you have to do your own research. We had to use the local doctor whilst we stayed here and they were very unhelpful advising us on pharmacies for prescriptions. Again we felt although the staff are young and enthusiastic but lacking in five star etiquette and experience. Sadly we will not recommend the hotel to our friends or family. Much better five star resorts such as Pine Cliffs, the Conrad and Tivoli.

Just returned from 10 nights at the W Algarve hotel. The hotel grounds are lovely, we stayed in a Spectacular Double room with sea view. The room was spacious and we loved the buttons by the side of the bed to control the curtains! The staff really make this hotel, nothing is too much trouble they are friendly without being intrusive and are happy to pass on recommendations from beaches to local restaurants. We loved the music and the resident DJ from Wednesday to Sunday. On a Wednesday they have a pool DJ which is a lot of fun. The food is good in the restaurants. We spent a lot of time at the Wet Deck; the team here are world class. Every morning we were greeted with a smile from Will and a lovely morning chat with a cold glass of water. The team really are a credit to the hotel, we loved having chats with them and talking through the menu choices (The Poke bowls are delicious!). Cocktails were no issue regardless if they were on the menu, they had a simple rule if the bar staff knew how to make it they would! The area is quiet, the sun set at Galé beach is stunning. We used Bolt to get around as these were very reasonable. We will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday.
