I can't recommend Castleview B&B highly enough: I stayed there in October 2022 whilst on business in Alnwick for a week, and was very impressed with, well, everything. Tracey is a fabulous host, and made me feel very at home from the outset. The rooms (of which I believe there are only two) are immaculate, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom in the 'Elizabeth' room is spacious and the modern power shower excellent. The whole house, which seems to be 17th/18th century, is furnished with splendid period furniture and there is plenty of drawer space - plus a handy dresser which was perfect for working using my laptop. Breakfast was served in the room every morning, with a tray overflowing with toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit and fresh coffee - don't let the word 'continental' fool you, there is plenty there. There is also tea/coffee making equipment in the room. Linens are top notch, and the bed is very comfy. Towels provided (even flannels) as well as basic toiletries like shower gel. I went well prepared for my week, but I have absolutely no doubt if I'd have needed anything, it would have been provided. I can find no real fault in this fine establishment! It is perfect for anyone wishing to stay within a literal stone's-throw of the magnificent Alnwick Castle, and the multitude of decent pubs and eateries of this cracking little town. One thing I would add is that the B&B, as an historical building, is not really geared up for those with disabilities: steep exterior steps, uneven staircases/floors, and heavy doors would not suit someone with mobility issues: With a venerable building of this age, I have no doubt it is Listed (protected by heritage legislation), and to install such accommodations would be impossible. If you're a visitor from outside the UK, maybe visiting the town for the Harry Potter / Hogwarts connection, then you will love this little slice of both history and hospitality.
