Hotel San Juan Ometepe

I decided to celebrate my 51st birthday with 3 girls friends in isla de Ometepe. San Juan de la isla is the best hotel there is. The food was so delicious and the service excellent. We took two cabins in front of the the lake. We saw the sunrise and fell in love with the island. We climb Volcan Conception with the island best tour guide. The whole experience was wander full and I’ll be back soon.

This was paradise! Wonderful resort ; very clean and well located in the middle of the island. Set on a beautiful volcanic beach and with a wonderful restaurant, which had reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and can't wait to return!

We had a magnificent stay in this wonderful resort. Located in the middle of the island, so everything was relatively close. The resort was very clean and the staff always friendly. Situated on a long volcanic beach, which barely had any people on it. We had a standard room, which had great AC, shower and wi-fi. We used the restaurant a few times ; prices were reasonable and the quality excellent. I had lovely fish ceviche and a whole red snapper one night, and it was very tasty. We didn't rent any vehicles and just relied on taxis. As well as avoiding the long dirt road to the resort, it allowed us to walk along the beach to nearby Santo Domingo one night and then to El Ojo de Aqua springs one afternoon.

I just returned from two perfect days at Finca San Juan de la Isla. Loved everything about it. Beautiful setting, easy check in, clean and comfortable cabin with well functioning air conditioning and very nice bathroom, and an excellent restaurant with lots and lots of choices at reasonable prices and highly attentive and amiable staff (thank you Carlos and Diego). As others have noted, it’s a bit isolated and doesn’t offer a party atmosphere, but it’s close enough to several what appear to be good restaurants in Santo Domingo. I had no reason or interest in going anywhere because I was only there two nights and the restaurant is better than fine, but had I stayed longer I would have tried one of those. I have nothing negative to say about the place - nothing. I’d give it a perfect 10. My only suggestion would be that management consider extending the reach of the Wi-Fi so that it reaches all of the cabins. While the website makes perfectly clear that there is only Wi-Fi guaranteed in the common areas, most of the closer in cabins and rooms benefit from their proximityto the restaurant, etc. I don’t know how feasible it would be to extend the Wi-Fi further, but the hotel is not inexpensive, and I think that for the price it would be a reasonable amenity to offer all guests.

Absolutely horrible experience. The owner is very greedy and is money hungry. All in all we got our money back through a very painful process for me and my sick child. Bad business. Please inquire me for more information. Very nasty women do not stay here if you have to deal with her. She was out of the country and could not help. We used no services, No room no nothing and they still refused to give us our money back. We had to have ******* explain to them and the refund was issued. This is not how business should be handled

My family and I stayed in 3 different rooms. All with A/C and private bathrooms. The room in the beach had some common dirt in furniture. All the rest of the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Given the hotel is a bit isolated, it would improve a customers stay if some transport was provided to make it easier to get into town. Pleasant surrounds, breakfast adequate and plenty of hot water. Econ rooms sufficient for the stay. One slight problem, but rectifies soon enough.

Besides the entrance to the property that needs to be paved. Everything was wonderful.

Perfect spot right on the lake, beautiful beach. The gardens are amazing, breakfast ( included ) are delicious. Staff super polite and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it more. We traveled with 2 kids ( 8 and 10 ) and rented the family room for 3 nights. It was perfect.
