I was recognized as a Hilton Diamond as soon as I stepped in the door and treated as such throughout our stay, including a complimentary room upgrade. The hotel staff is fantastic: helpful, friendly, and courteous. The room we stayed in (King Deluxe with city view) was clean and comfortable with plenty of space to move around. The breakfast is fantastic! The hotel has an Executive Lounge that is adequate, if not luxuriant. Like most Hilton Lounges these days, it features the basics and a few American hot snacks in the evening (ah, for the old days in European Hiltons). It’s nice to have, though, when so many are disappearing entirely. Parking is easy, if a bit pricey for an out of center city location. Like many Hilton’s, this hotel is a decent but doable walk from most points of interest. But it’s location on an outer canal is beautiful, and it is quiet and restful. We will certainly return, and I highly recommend this Hilton.

After our Viking Rhine Cruise ended in Amsterdam, we planned to stay the night to check out the city. This hotel had the right combination of price, location, and amenities. We chose one of the 2nd floor suits which included a balcony for smoking. The room was located above the side street which was lined with sycamore trees so the balcony was screened by the branches—it was lovely. Noise level was not bad since this was not the tourist sector but it was still the city so it wasn’t quiet or dark. The room was spacious especially the bathroom. From the hotel we walked to the old city and passed several canals along the way. We didn’t wind up eating at the hotel but we did order from the bar and the bartender was friendly. The staff was friendly and called a cab for us in the morning to get to the airport. Would stay here again.

PROS: The staff is very helpful and accommodating (the exception being many servers with attitude in the restaurant). We arrived a bit early and were able to check in without any fuss. And in the course of our 5 day stay the staff was very quick to respond to a couple of issues. We liked the location outside of the intensely touristy central area; which is a long-ish but pleasant 20 minute walk away. But if you want to be in the heart of the canal hustle and bustle, The Pulitzer might be a better choice. The Conservatorium is very conveniently located for the Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk museums. As the spa was being renovated, the 'pop-up' was sufficient and we both had relaxing body work done. CONS: There are many guest rooms overlooking the atrium, which is quite busy and attractive, however we had occasion to visit two of these rooms (traveling with friends) and they were permeated with the unpleasant scent of cooking meat as the restaurant is situated in the center of the atrium. Luckily our room overlooked the street and had no odor. We found the bed uncomfortable - too firm for us. The closet/dresser design is extremely inconvenient to the point of almost being unusable, so for 5 days we opted to more or less live out of our bags.

Set right next to the best part of the city, Leidseplein which is very well connected to all the notable landmarks including walkable distance to both the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum as well as the famous Voldelpark. The hotel has very modern interiors and all the facilities to make ones stay comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious unlike the other European hotels. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. There are 100's of restaurants serving all types of food and all are within walking distance from the hotel. Getting to Dam Square which is the shopping hub and Amsterdam Central station is just a single tram ride. Overall, the hotel is very clean and comfortable and nothing can beat the convenient location of this hotel.

Hotel 717 lives up to its buzz and in fact, exceeded our expectations. From start to finish our stay was delightful. We were greeted warmly at the front doorstep and treated to a welcome cocktail after checking in. The property is beautiful! Expertly curated with whimsical, decorative details throughout. Our room was spacious, and the bed + bedding were sublime. Staff was exceptionally kind, with extra special praise earned by Camilla and Wolf who went above and beyond for us! It was quite difficult to leave Hotel 717, although the send-off tin of cookies eased our sadness and heightened our hopes to return asap. Thank you, Hotel 717! We are grateful for you all!

I have stayed in this hotel for many many times since 2016, it was Ramada back then, I have never being noticed as a regular customer , more than that , the reception manager **** is extremely rude and awful, I have never had such a bad experience in any hotel let alone the hotel that I like and attached with, they really should hire a better person for the reception and make the hotel better

Second stay at this hotel, this time 4 nights on holiday. The hotel is located at a commercial, but pleasant area, with good public transportation options. We preferred it to the chaos of central Amsterdam, including a fair share of dubious characters we saw there on sightseeing. We were welcomed in a courteous and pleasant manner (thank you Tim for this, and for good tips regarding transportation)., and service was good throughout our stay. The common areas and the room were pleasant and clean. The bed was good, the bathroom large and well-maintained. Breakfast was a continental fare with no extras, but good quality ingredients, both beverages and food. Few comments regarding things we liked less: 1. Water pressure in our room (highest floor, # 11) was too weak for an adequate shower. Uncertain how it is on lower floors, but this was frustrating. 2. Room service needs improvement. We ordered burgers, to be prepared medium, and received charred, over-well-done meat, with charred buns too. 3. We were happy to learn there was jazz music in the bar on Thursday. Alas, these were two fairly quiet guitars, drowned in a sea of yelling and laughing guests, People's behavior is by no means something the hotel can or should control. Nevertheless, should the music be audible, it may be better to bring a singer with a piano and a set of drums. Overall a pleasant stay at a good hotel.

They do not deserve the TripAdvisor award. The location of the hotel isn’t bad BUT it isn’t great either. It’s quite a distance from everything even though public transport is convenient - there’s a bit of walking to do. Nothing to eat around here after 9pm and you need to order deliveroo but the options there are limited too. Service: First, the room had NO air conditioning. It was stuffy and had no ventilation. Told them 3 times and they just left a note saying that they have taken note of this? Bonvoy service? I’ve travelled so much pre Covid - I think the service standards shouldn’t have changed this much? We had one lady Andre (from Barcelona) who was very helpful but the manager and the other front desk people weren’t any help at all let alone service. Second, the room was so so. There aren’t much amenities- just soup and shampoo. No toothbrush etc. Towels are small. Third, breakfast- every day’s breakfast was exactly the same maybe except one dish. I get elemen isn’t the higher grade Marriott group hotels BUT for all other Bonvoy members out there- just stay at the main Marriott or another hotel group.

We decided to splurge on this 5 star hotel for a long anticipated family reunion. Unfortunately the experience was marred by a series of disappointments caused by utterly incompetent hotel staff. When I called ahead on the day of our arrival to request an early check-in the hotel rep. sternly informed me that I would have to pay a 120 Euro charge for the privilege! We are experienced travelers and never have we encountered such a demand. We took our chances regardless and decided to show up 2 hours early. Sure enough, our room was already ready and we were allowed to occupy it at no extra charge. Things really started to go south when a limousine that I had arranged for separate airport pickup of my daughter’s family through the concierge showed up at the airport unequipped with a baby car seat. I had expressly requested this when I booked the service. This was also specified in the booking confirmation sent by email to me by the concierge. The reaction I later got when I complained to the concierge was that I was not charged extra for the baby seat - as if this was the main issue! Furthermore, this was the first time that I was informed of such a charge, as no mention of this had been made in the email confirmation of the limo reservation which I originally received from the concierge. More importantly, what is more concerning is the utter indifference he showed for the safety of a guest’s infant grandchild. All that concerned him was the money angle to the failure. Things soon got worse. When we checked into our room we lifted the bed cover to discover several hairs and multiple red and yellow stains. Unbelievably, the chambermaid had neglected to change the bedsheets. This, in a 5 star hotel! After we called reception, staff was quickly sent to our room to change them. We never heard further from management about this. We later had dinner at Serre restaurant onsite and left the place hungry. The chef seems to focus on presentation and less on the reasonableness of the portions. My wife had a fish main course which was equivalent to 3 forkfuls. The minuscule dessert was pretty to look at but was grossly inadequate even for one person. The restaurant style is a throwback to the old Nouvelle Cuisine school. For the icing on the cake: a voucher for a round of drinks on the house at the rooftop bar that the guest services manager had kindly given me was bungled by the bar staff. When I arrived home I discovered a mysterious charge of 66 Euros by the Twenty-Third Floor Bar. The bar staff set new standards of incompetence in taking my voucher and charging me anyway.I had to call the hotel for credit but I am losing money anyway from the spread in exchange rates used by credit card companies. To be fair, the Superior View room was extremely spacious and comfortable with a magnificent view. The large pool and ample spa facilities were enjoyable and a significant convenience . It had all the basic amenities needed. It’s a simple hotel to sleep and travel easily via metro. It has a 24/7 pizza machine at reception so don’t worry about getting hungry! The only thing I really did not like was the high pillows so if you’ve got a sensitive neck for sleep then I don’t recommend.

This is my second time staying here. The first time was 2 years ago before the pandemic and everything went very well. The hotel is super clean and I love that the tram station is literally across the street. On the second stay, the hot water in the shower started malfunctioning but they did call a repairman to fix it that same night. Other than that, the stay went well. I also love the self check-in and options to do an early check-in for a small extra fee. The staff here are super nice even though they seem understaffed.

The Conscious Hotel is what we like as spontaneous travelers and backpackers. Fine and uncomplecated service. You can organise almost everything online. The keycards for the rooms can be loaded at the desk. In addition there is a 24/7 service. Also the choice for breakfast is fine. You can choose between a small one in the foyer and delicious organic breakfast in attached Café Moer. The service personal is very friendly. The rooms are fine, clean, bright. The only thing which could need an update is the furniture. In addition to the bed there was only a hard chair. One armchair would be grant to relax out side the bed and would make the room much more comfortable. One big advantage is the proximity to sever public transport stations. One suggestion from my side. We booked th two rooms for three people and payed the full price for two rooms. A discount would be great in this case.

Overall the experience was great. They have a green initiative that they will give you €5 dinning credit each day you don’t need them to change your bedsheets and towels. I earned €25 credit which was awesome. The swimming pool was nice. I went early enough that no one else was there. Breakfast was ok, but it’s the same everyday. However, you can ask them to make omelettes and fried eggs on demand.

Location: very nicely located between tram stops and metro station. You can easily access the city center by tram or metro. I love how quiet the area is without the noise from the main city. Service: it was raining very heavily during my arrival at the hotel, and the staff only allowed soaking wet guests to check in at 3pm. I think some flexibility can be practiced here. Breakfast is good, but the exact same every single day. I was there for 7 days and would have appreciated some variation. In-house restaurant’s burger and fries were good but the pizza is frozen and costs €12. Cleanliness: housekeeping is adequate but very inconsistent. Some days the toilet wasn’t scrubbed, no plastic lining for the bin, no change of cups, etc. Note that hotel does not provide toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers for single room type. Amenities: wouldn’t advise paying €19 for the spa facilities as the space is very limited and filled with rowdy teenagers. Certainly not conducive for relaxing with all the noise. . I only stayed for half an hour and never went back for the rest of my stay.

The hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable. The staff were lovely and very helpful when asked any questions or for travel advice. The reception area was very welcoming and the bar/restaurant was top class. The breakfast had a good selection of food and drinks - was well worth it. There is a Lidl round the corner which is very reasonable. The tram/bus/metro tickets were well worth the money and once we figured out our routes they were very easy to use (and frequent) - just remember to scan in and scan off the bus/tram/metro. It took us about 30 mins to get to the centre of town. I would 110% recommend this hotel and it’s staff to anyone looking for accommodation in Amsterdam.

We arrived for 5 night at Hotel Twenty Eight and loved it! Our room was excellent (Executive Apartment). It was spacious with a small kitchen stocked with everything we needed. There's a full service market a block away with great selection. The bed was king sized and very comfortable. There's a window that can be opened which let in fresh air day and night. The bathroom was large with a fantastic shower -- excellent hot water and lots of it. The hotel staff were wonderful -- kind and helpful in every way. The 24 tram stops right in front of the hotel with direct access to central Amsterdam. This was a perfect place for us to stay... Slightly outside the hustle and busyness of the tourist area which is what we wanted. We'll stay there again next time we visit.
