We thought the ambience and vibes of this hotel to be stylish and chic with friendly, down to earth staff who were more than accommodating! Special thanks to Arsi, Camilla, Teddy, Parisa and Leto for their wonderful service. There were a few matters that could be improved such as: introducing vegan options, housekeeping to continuously be efficient – there was some occasions where they forgot to replace items in the room such as toilet paper, coffee cups or even forgot to take used glassware; more staff behind the bar, as it did become busy and customers were waiting more that 10mins – should the reception not be busy, then those staff members could help out behind the bar? Some staff members should pay more attention to the small details, which we discussed with the Manager, Pasquale, who listened and took on all our suggestions on board. That said, we would not hesitate to visit again.

When looking at The Flying Pig from the outside, you see a small door and a sign. But on the other side of that door is what feels like an entire block of dorms right in the centre of Amsterdam. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, the people are chill and the reception bar has fantastic deals during happy hours. Down the street you can find anything from **** shops to fine dining. My 76 y/o father has been staying at the Flying Pig when in Amsterdam since it opened, and I now understand why he was so keen to show me. It's a really unique place that truly feels like Amsterdam. Their staff was amazing in helping to plan our stay as well as I got injured and ended up in a wheelchair/crutches combo one week prior to our trip. The building has a lot of stairs and narrow hallways, but the staff gave great information and made sure I got a bottom bunk and was as comfortable as possible. We'll be back!

The room is spacious for one person. There js a safety lock and a fridge in the room. Two water bottles are provided on my first day but that’s it. The reception will suggest you to drink water from the tap. The bathroom is in a good size, not too large and not too small. There is no shower curtain, only half cover glass, and therefore the floor outside the shower area will be wet after taking a shower. Hair dryer is available in the bathroom. Decaf coffee and tea are provided. The hotel is in a convenient location, only one station from the Amsterdam centraal. Spar is the name of the convenient store at the Sloterdijk station.

I couldn't be more pleased with this hostel! I highly recommend it. The hostel, including bathrooms and showers, was very clean. The beds were super cozy and comfortable and offered some privacy. Staff was super sweet and helpful. Bonus points that the lobby always smelled like toast or freshly baked cookies! Also, the bike rental service was fantastic. One suggestion for improvement is that it would have been nice to have some wall hangers in the room. Since there were none, people resorted to hanging stuff from the bed ladders or just putting it on the floor.

Super friendly night staff and was very helpful !! Would not stay again as pictures are completely misleading nothing as advertised much smaller and pour room hygiene there were ants on our table side cigarette burns also on the table when mentioned to the day staff we were having issues with our room as the vent directly out side our room was so loud we asked to swap they had said there fully booked when looking on their website there were still plenty of other room I could have booked for that night we also asked at the same time if we could have a extra pillow as they provided small square pillows that were just enough to rest my head on lay down flat in one statue like position the maintenance person followed us up the stairs and got a pillow out of another room and this was filthy and had marks on it that were very visible on white sheets I would have recommended the hostel across the street over Trianon there best feature was the vending machine and free map

A good 5 min walk away from nice Asian food place Market 27 while the environment is peaceful and modern. The housekeeping service is splendid as we returned to the hotel room each night to find everything in order. The bed is hard enough for my comfort. Pillows are splendid and high enough. Water pressure in the bath room is good too. The clothes hanging rack is a little high for shorter Asian people like myself… but still manageable for a 1.7m tall man.
Location is the best. It is located opposite metro station that 1 stations distance away then bring you Amsterdam Centre. Besides, it is right besides bus interchange that can bring us to zaandam.

On the positive, wellness is very nice, team tries to be helpful and beds are comfortable.
On the negative, first room faced street with lots of noise even on the 4th floor. Asked for a room change which they provided to a quieter but a bit smaller room. No issue, it was quiet 😅.
In the morning however I noticed a big black bug on the crispy white sheets - less fun that surprise in the morning but hey, we are close to water.
The bike I rented from the hotel is a good brand, however poorly maintained - tyres pretty flat and left brake didn’t function.
On the hotel info sheet was mentioned that welness opens from 06.00 to 23.00, however at 6.30 only fitness was open and swimming pool only as off seven.
No bathrobe or slippers available in the room which was very enjoying seen you have to take lift and cross hallways to reach wellness at 2/3 floor.
Finally the surroundings are convenient (close to train station) but it is a super touristy part with nothing for the visitor who is looking for authenticity. In summary, I had high hopes for this hotel but will never return despite a great swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Too Bad

Had a great experience as a solo traveller. All I needed was a comfortable bed and a shower in the morning and this fit that purpose.
Room is well designed, and had plenty of hanging / storage space. Matress is firm, which is how I have mine so I was happy with the comfort of my sleep.
No problems with both heating and cooling, as well as no hot water problems. Only thing I would say is if you’re staying on an outside room, and the rain is pretty hard, it will cause some noise as it hits the metal structure. Didn’t bother me, but it could bother others who are more sensitive to noise.
I’d stay again , and felt it offered great value for money

The hotel was incredibly clean and very easy to navigate. The rooms were amazing, with all the facilities needed for either a short or long stay. The room itself was incredibly comfortable & the bathroom was large and spacious. Would definitely stay at this hotel again when returning to Amsterdam & I would recommend to others as well.

Although the location and the shuttle bus is convenient for travellers from Schiphol Airport, the shuttle bus is never according to the schedule (about 10~15mins delay for the bus to show up).
The hotel rooms themselves are fairly decent. Cleanliness is alright. Amenities such as body soaps were not refilled when we checked in.
The hotel has 2 restaurants and a bar but are all very loud, chaotic and in no way shape to relax and enjoy a meal. The restaurant workers were clearly overwhelmed and frustrated that they reflected that towards paying customers by being quite rude.
Would stay there again if I need to for the price & location but preferably not.

Room is ok and decent for the price you paid for. Basic amenities provided but note that they do not have facial tissue or bedroom slipper provided.
The room probably not suitable for friends who are body shy? There is a hole to the bathroom sliding door, so there’s basically no privacy to it.
Overall, pretty happy with the stay.

PPengguna TetamuHotel was great for the price you pay. The rooms are tiny (barely enough room to open a suitcase) and although situated conveniently next to a metro station is in the middle of nowhere but again, you get what you pay for and the lobby, gym and communal areas are well designed and well kept. If you don’t mind a 15/20min Metro travel to Amsterdam Centraal you wouldn’t mind it here I give the hotel 2 stars because I accidentally left my Apple Airpod headphones in the lobby area the day I checked out to visit another hotel in Amsterdam, although when I called Hotel Leonardo that same night to ask them if they’d been handed in I was told they hadn’t. I travelled down to the hotel the next morning to be told the same thing, that there were no headphones that had been handed in but they asked for my name and previous room number so they could contact me should they turn up. Luckily I was able to make my lost AirPods make a sound (findmyiphone feature you can activate when you lose a device) and I could hear them beeping behind the front desk so I told the receptionist that I knew they were behind the desk and she eventually handed them over. I firmly believe the hotel staff were trying to keep my misplaced AirPods headphones and if I had not been able to make the sound from the Airpods they would have pocketed them

PPengguna TetamuOh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked.
The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be.
The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer.
The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study.
BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station.
I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

PPengguna TetamuAfter our Viking Rhine Cruise ended in Amsterdam, we planned to stay the night to check out the city. This hotel had the right combination of price, location, and amenities. We chose one of the 2nd floor suits which included a balcony for smoking. The room was located above the side street which was lined with sycamore trees so the balcony was screened by the branches—it was lovely. Noise level was not bad since this was not the tourist sector but it was still the city so it wasn’t quiet or dark. The room was spacious especially the bathroom. From the hotel we walked to the old city and passed several canals along the way. We didn’t wind up eating at the hotel but we did order from the bar and the bartender was friendly. The staff was friendly and called a cab for us in the morning to get to the airport. Would stay here again.

BBrianSurprisingly, I had a disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Towers. The front desk staff was somewhat dismissive and the breakfast was not up to par with other Express locations. Otherwise, the rooms are of typical small-ish European size and comfortable. Note that unlike other international hotels, they don't provide power adapters in the room nor at the front desk (you can purchase one in the kiosk). The location is conveniently located close to the Arena, which means trains and ample fast food choices. It's not a bad choice even if you have to invest roughly half an hour by train to get to downtown Amsterdam.

Hotel in lovely area, 15 min tram to the centre, good sized clean room - basic decoration. Very much a backpackers hotel/hostel vibe. Not for someone expecting a prestige type room for the price. There was a mini fridge in our room we found very useful. Cleaners and staff were great, iron was avaliable, and slept with little noise coming from neighbouring rooms. The place had a nice atmosphere with the music venue and studios on the ground floor. We were very worried after reading some bad reviews but relieved by our actual experience of a spotless room, fresh towels everyday and a fan in our room when it was warm. It still seems a little overpriced in comparison to hotels in other cities but I think its average when it comes to Amsterdam with limited accommodation options.

I was a little concerned about this hotel after reading so many bad reviews, but I decided to give it a chance, since the location and the price were so perfect. I was not disapointed. The staff was very friendly, the room, the sheets, towels and bathroom were really clean. I could point two negative things about this room: it was really small (which was no problem, I was alone) and my pillow was nothing but a folded blanket inside a pillow cover. Other than that no complains. Could definitely stay here again.
