Stayed in a pod for two nights. The environment was very quiet and the bathrooms were cleaned frequently. Breakfast was good. The location is a bit far from the city center, but the transportation is quite convenient, and the park is quite beautiful in the morning.

Stayed at the amazing Via Amsterdam recently. First impressions were great a lady helped us massively before arrival answering all our queries in reservations and was very helpful with tips of places to visit and getting tickets etc even very helpful travel tips from the airport. We came to check in and loved the place it’s about a 10 minute walk from the local station could be done quicker once you know the route. The whole reception lay out is huge, lots of seating, games area, even it’s own cinema area. We had a very nice gentleman on check in called Bart who was lovely, he helped us with directions, booking breakfast and dining tips. We dined in the Bar called the dude and had a couple of drinks. Bar is quite expensive but nice vibe only fault we found was a very limited restaurant menu choice, we did eat the burgers (no other choice) and they are recommended but you don’t want to eat the same thing every night. Rooms are spacious but quite sparse could do with a table and a couple of chairs to be fair so you can sit and chat. Very clean and comfy beds. Showers only and a bit small but offer free shampoo and shower gel, no towels so bring your own. Breakfast was a bit of a poor show and could do with improvements. For the amount you pay it’s not worth it. You could go into Amsterdam and buy something better for cheaper. We had seen online people complaining about not being central but honestly it’s no issue there is a metro within walking distance and takes you directly into Amsterdam central in about 15 minutes and run regularly. Overall had an fantastic stay and would highly recommend to anyone. You cannot fault the place. I did have a nightmare after checkout tho and was my only complaint as I was overcharged and tried for nearly a month to get a refund from the manager jonannes who wouldn’t speak to me because apparently he was too busy (not the best customer service from a manager) I tried calling and emailing but he just wouldn’t reply or sort the problem and other poor staff tried to make excuses for it not being sorted sooner, it was eventually sorted by someone else but after such a good stay it did leave me feeling slightly disappointed. Hopefully he has improved his customer service by now as this does not reflect on how good this place actually is.

The location is nice. There’s a supermarket nearby and it’s pretty close to the place you take the free ferry to the station. There’s a big common area on ground floor for you to chill and there’s also a bar. The staff is quite nice. I was living in female dorm room, it’s good that they have seperate bathroom and toilet en-suite and also outside of room so that I don’t have to pee myself. The individual bed light is so strong that I feel like I would wake someone up if I keep that light up but I’m gonna be blind soon if I look at my phone in complete dark. I slept well with the bed, except for the first night that a girl packed her stuff whole midnight crazy. (Which is not the hostel’s responsibility) travellers plz keep quiet in midnight, if you wanna make noise, go outside of the room.

I couldn't be more pleased with this hostel! I highly recommend it. The hostel, including bathrooms and showers, was very clean. The beds were super cozy and comfortable and offered some privacy. Staff was super sweet and helpful. Bonus points that the lobby always smelled like toast or freshly baked cookies! Also, the bike rental service was fantastic. One suggestion for improvement is that it would have been nice to have some wall hangers in the room. Since there were none, people resorted to hanging stuff from the bed ladders or just putting it on the floor.

Where to begin? This is a hostel, so you are sharing with 10 other people. Think long and hard about that before you book. Do you snore or make other nocturnal noises that will keep others awake? Maybe look elsewhere. I mention this because yesterday I checked in this hostel hoping to spend the night. It's got great friendly staff. On the whole it's clean and tidy. Result for a cheap night. Went off out in the evening, found something to eat. It was all going well. Then it was time to sleep. I'll be honest the weather is warm, so the room was warm, not a deal breaker at this price range. I was on my bed by 10 and ready to sleep, a few members of the room already in bed, one snoring. At midnight after everyone else came in, did their thing I had to get out of bed to turn off the lights for them. It was after this with some dark it becomes apparent that the snoring wasn't going to stop. Eventually I got up maybe half two. Went to the reception, got a beer. I was asked if everything was ok. I explained about the snoring, and was shown the TV room by the receptionist. I was overjoyed. A quiet and cool room to rest. I finally found some sleep in the TV room. So I'd imagine if the folk you're sharing with aren't snorers this could be a perfect way to see some of Amsterdam. Once again big thanks to the receptionist team. Really appreciate your help and thoughtfulness.

-taxes were added when we arrived, each night we add to pay 2€ per person plus others taxes not mentioned when we booked. -it was very noisy, all night we could hear slamming doors and people talking from Time to Time. -The bedroom was very big and well equiped (fridge) and the host was nice and handful. For the price it was overall correct.

Perfect for sleeping and storing the luggage, which is exactly what we needed! Nice and helpful staff. The atmosphere was cozy and the place felt clean. Slight downside is how warm the room got in the night. We also got the absolutely smallest room which was fine with us but beware it’s cramped. But I’m definitely staying here next time I’m in Amsterdam.

When looking at The Flying Pig from the outside, you see a small door and a sign. But on the other side of that door is what feels like an entire block of dorms right in the centre of Amsterdam. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, the people are chill and the reception bar has fantastic deals during happy hours. Down the street you can find anything from **** shops to fine dining. My 76 y/o father has been staying at the Flying Pig when in Amsterdam since it opened, and I now understand why he was so keen to show me. It's a really unique place that truly feels like Amsterdam. Their staff was amazing in helping to plan our stay as well as I got injured and ended up in a wheelchair/crutches combo one week prior to our trip. The building has a lot of stairs and narrow hallways, but the staff gave great information and made sure I got a bottom bunk and was as comfortable as possible. We'll be back!

A great location in the heart of the City, which is easy to find and provides a good base near the Centraal station. The food is pretty good, and the atmosphere is terrific. The staff are all amiable and pleased to help. This is a great place to stay. Top tips: 1. Take earplugs if you are planning on sleeping. 2. Bring a padlock. 3. Sheets and towels are provided. 4. The machine coffee at breakfast is best avoided.
