H10 Las Palmeras

We are currently staying at the H10 Las Palmeras for a week, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It's our first time at the hotel, although we have stayed at the H10 Conquistador down the road before. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. There are definitely some good points, but also some things that could be improved. I will try to be honest for those of you wishing to stay here... Firstly check in - be aware that if you have an early flight, check in is officially at 3pm! We arrived at 11.30am and although we were half expecting the room not to be ready, we have never had to wait 3.5 hours before. It means we couldn't unpack and settle in straight away. We were given our all inclusive bands so could sit in the lounge and have a drink, and then at 1pm we could get some lunch. Our cases were stored in the luggage room but we all had hand luggage to carry round. We had a family room, which turned out to be a 'bungalow ' well more of an apartment with a kitchen / living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. With a patio and a balcony. It is by far the biggest accommodation we have had in an all inclusive hotel (and the most expensive!) It was a bit dated but little touches like the hand wash, shower gel, and shampoo in both bathrooms and the welcome pack with drinks and crisps was very nice. The only downfall with having a bungalow was to access them, you have to walk through part of the outdoor restaurant seating and out the back to the carpark. My favourite thing by far about this hotel is the all inclusive bands act as your room key! So no worrying about who has the key, or if the kids want to go back to the room for something that they will forget the key. A swipe from your band and you can open the door. The all inclusive package is not quite all inclusive so be careful what you order. On check in we were given a list of what is included and to be fair there is a good choice but in my opinion, when you pay for all inclusive, it should mean anything the hotel has to offer. Breakfast is fine, a variety of foods and nothing to complain about. Lunch and dinner can vary but mostly there is a good choice so you will find something you like. Our only complaint is you have to queue to enter, and give your room number which is written on a ticket that the waiter uses. This to me is unnecessary when you are all inclusive and causes a slow entry to the restaurant at busy times. The waiters seemed confused if you order more than 1 drink each, which again if you are all inclusive shouldn't be a problem. We liked to get a drink and then water. We checked with the rep who said we should be able to order as many as we want as long as they are on the list included. We have used the pool bar for lunch which seems more relaxed than the restaurant but be prepared to wait for your order to be taken and for your food, as there never seems to be enough staff. I stayed here July 2024 with a group of friends and I must say I was very impressed by the overall experience and quality. Reading the reviews beforehand I had some reservations but I really cannot fault the place. It was clean and tidy and well looked after. Food was good quality and variety. Drinks were also very good. Lots of options and entertainment. Staff were fantastic and worked hard to make it a great stay. I will definitely be back!

3 Star Staff We arrived at around 9:45pm and were checked in and told the dining hall closes at 10 but we were fine to go and get some food quickly after a long day of travelling. This clearly inconvenienced the restaurant manager I presume as he told us to hurry and treated us very coldly. Some food for late travellers is usually standard in any 4 star hotel I’ve stayed in. We paid for all inclusive but the woman who checked us in gave us half board bands and this caused a lot of confusion as we were almost charged at the restaurant and pool side bar. It was then corrected by a very helpful man at reception who explained everything to us but this should have been done first time around. Rooms The corridors have green 1970s carpet and a weird smell, the first room we were given smelled old and damp that felt very cramped and a tiny balcony. Along with this it had a small TV, a bathroom that had not been done up and looked nothing like the photos - as well as a huge brown hair in the sink. The air conditioning in this room was loud and hardly worked. There was also a cockroach within 10 minutes of being in the room. It was also situated right on top of one of the busiest bars on the whole street which played live music from 8:30-12:30 every night - the bass from this bar was so loud that the whole bathroom was vibrating. After the live music had finished you could still hear the bustle and music from the streets. The next morning I mentioned this to reception and they eventually changed us to a much nicer room that was quiet, fresh and had much nicer facilities. Although still a small room and balcony. It is quite shocking that they even consider putting people in the first room that we stayed in. For a 4 star hotel at this price I feel that it is expected to have a kettle with some complementary teas and coffees to use but for the kettle alone you have to pay per day. You also have to pay to use the safe. The room cards are in the wrist bands which was a nice touch. Facilities The hotel, restaurant pool and lounge areas are modern and nice. Also plenty of loungers so you never have to worry about not getting a lounger during the day. Friendly entertainment staff getting everyone involved with lots of activities. Food The food and drinks are very nice and it’s a different theme every night. Nice cocktails, coffee and friendly bar service. The pool side snack bar is a nice addition which serves burgers, chips etc. The coffee shop within the restaurant was lovely. Italian restaurant was good too. Busy location if that’s what you’re into but looky looky men right outside the entrance is not the best environment for young families with children etc. Right on doorstep to many shops, restaurants and beaches so that is a bonus. Overall we did enjoy our stay here but this hotel would be 4 stars had the rooms been nicer, food for late arrivals and staff been more pleasant at the beginning.

Staff We had booked an all inclusive holiday, however upon our arrival the woman at the check-in desk gave us half-board bands which we did not know. We arrived about 9:45pm and were going to the restaurant to get something to eat quickly as we had been travelling since early that morning. What appeared to be a manager in the main restaurant was quite rude, as if asking us to hurry up and it appeared no food would be left out for late arrivals. We were also told we would be charged for our meal and any drinks we ordered, the same at the pool bar. It was only when we asked at reception what the issue was that we were told we had been given the wrong bands. This was an easy fix but still did not appreciate the way a few members of staff treated us as this could have easily been explained. Throughout the rest of our stay, the majority of the staff were nice and helpful. Rooms Considering the price of the holiday I was slightly disappointed with the room. Being a 4 star hotel, the rooms were slightly dated. They were clean and had the essentials, however there was an extra charge to use the safe and for if you wanted a kettle which I believe should have been included in the price of the stay. Our room was also located on the first floor, directly above The Dubliner bar, one of the busiest bars in that area of Tenerife. Loud music was played into the early hours of the morning and there were often people outside shouting, making the experience less than pleasant. I believe we were put in this room probably because we are a young couple and it appeared most young people were staying in that area of the hotel. It did ruin my experience quite a bit and I may have enjoyed my time more had I had a room on the opposite side, facing the pool and the beach. Restaurants The main restaurant was fine. There were a variety of options and there was a different theme at dinner every night. It was not top quality food however it did the job. We also tried the Italian restaurant in the hotel one night which again was fine. It was not authentic Italian food but that was to be expected. I would, however, not pay the money for it had I not been all-inclusive. The snack bar by the pool did some really nice food during the day which we used as an alternative to the main restaurant for lunch a few times. I would recommend that. Location The hotel is built above a number of bars, many of which played loud music into the early hours of the morning. This hotel would likely be good for those going on a boys/girls holiday however I don’t believe it is the right location for couples/families. The bars attracted many drunk people and it did not feel safe to walk around outside later on at night. There were a number of people trying to speak to you and sell you things which again added to the feeling of being unsafe as they were persistent. Overall Overall, the hotel was clean and had the location been elsewhere, it would have been a really great experience as the hot

This is a great hotel, in a prime position on the las americas beach and very close to the lovely bars and restaurants (but far enough away that sleep is not disturbed!) The main room, although small was excellent with daily housekeeping and a nice large shower. The only issues were there was a very occasional smell from the bathroom and the front door of the room sometimes stuck meaning we had to almost force it open (room 36). This could be an issue if there was a fire … The drinks offered were of an excellent standard, with named spirits and very generous amounts poured! The cocktails were all amazing and thanks to the cocktail masters for creating these delicious cocktails… especially the amazing mojitos!! The food was great for an all inclusive. Daily there was a special themed night from italian to asian and this was all very delicious. It would have been nice to have better quality sausages at breakfast, but apart from this the food was faultless. All lunch and dinner drinks were apart of a waiter service in glass bottles. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. There are lots of interesting plants and beautiful palm trees. The pool was great although a little cold at some points in the day. All of the staff from reception, to the restaurant to the housekeepers were very polite and attentive and always saying hello and willing to have a joke with the guests! The entertainment programmer was great although i would have liked to see a few more activities at it was a smaller comparison in comparison to a riu hotel. I would definitely stay here again if in las americas and would even try other h1 hotels around the world due to my excellent experience here.

Have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel. It was booked last minute as the refurbishment of one we were suppose to be staying in hadn’t been completed, so we were unsure what to expect, especially after reading some of the reviews. We were then shocked to find we absolutely loved it, and will definitely return. The views from our room can only be described as spectacular, and while the room was a little compact, it was sufficient for our needs and it was cleaned every day. With the exception of one or two, the staff were all friendly, polite and more than helpful, especially Javier on reception and Antonio in the pool bar (there were other really lovely staff but I didn’t get all their names). Maybe we were lucky, but we didn’t have any problems getting sun beds, and the pool areas and facilities were all clean and well attended. The restaurant was spacious, with a wide variety of food to cater to all tastes served at each mealtime. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed, and while the hotel itself, entrance lobby, fixtures and fittings, aren’t as luxurious as some H10’s that didn’t detract from the welcoming atmosphere and comfort for guests. Was everything perfect, no, but then, nothing is so don’t be put off by some of the negative reviews, we’re glad we gave this hotel a chance, and for sure we will be going back.
