Downtown Suites by Athens Tower Hotel

Great little ‘smart’ hotel bang in the centre of Athens. If you want somewhere that has a reception/bar/restaurant/gym etc then this isn’t for you, but if you want a super clean, modern place for a reasonable price in the centre of Athens then it’s perfect! We found this place no problem, it’s literally around the corner from Monastaraki metro station, down a small street by Toi and Moi shop. We were impressed by the quality of the room, spotlessly clean and we had a lovely little balcony overlooking the street. Communication was excellent - fast response to all questions and yes you need a code to enter the building and the room but we had no problem with this at all. Only downside if you have a lot of luggage or mobility problems you have to climb one set of stairs to reach the lift, but for us that was ok. Nice touches - complementary coffee, tea and water and a bottle of wine should you want it. Bed was uber comfortable and shower was amazing. Great stay.

I stayed at Down Town Suites by Athens Tower Hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel is located at the end of the Ermou pedestrian walkway (the hotel entrance is in an alleyway off Ermou Street, in the building with the Toi Moi store). The location is convenient, but the area is extremely loud and crowded. Noise disrupted my sleep for two nights due to homeless individuals outside (they had chinchillas on little leashes), one of whom caused loud arguments with passersby and made me feel unsafe. When I called to complain, the staff promptly intervened (someone was sent from the other hotel) but the noise escalated the second night with shouting and loud banging, heightening my safety concerns. The second night the front desk employee told me that because the hotel is in the heart of Athens it is expected for there to be noise, but I explained that the same individuals from the previous night were causing the disturbance and they sent someone over again to handle it. The newly renovated hotel was nice, but the elevator not stopping on the ground floor was inconvenient. I had to carry by luggage up quite a few stairs. I woke up with mosquito bites despite using repellent (the mosquito kept buzzing in my ear and kept me up). Due to the above issues, I was able to only get a few hours of sleep before my 17 hrs of travel. The front desk was helpful, but the smart technology setup made me uncertain about emergency contacts. While the renovated rooms and responsive staff were positives, noise, accessibility issues, and safety concerns impacted my stay. Improved security and communication would enhance guest experience.

They have clean and modernised rooms. The hotel is located in the center so everything was walking distance! Restaurants are just around the corner and Starbucks too! The housekeeper and front desk are very kind and helpful. You have to use codes to access the hotel therefore, you have to check your booking messages for it before your arrival. Everything was great!

We absolutely loved our stay here and have already booked to return. The room are really comfortable and clean.Perfect location to the city centre. The absolute best thing about the hotel is the breakfast.Lots of choices on the roof with an amazing view. Big thanks to all the staff who made us feel right at home and were fantastic with us. Very excited to return and would choices this place to anyone in need of a relaxing stay all year round.
