The dolli aspira ad essere il più lussuoso hotel di Atene. Daily rate decisamente importante, in linea con alcune delle principali città europee, non corrisponde però ad un servizio e a quello standard dell’hotellerie internazionale a cui la struttura aspira ad appartenere. Le dimensioni di una grand deluxe sono decisamente troppo piccole, riddano piuttosto le metrature di graziosi 4 stelle. Armadio troppo piccolo, manca lo spazio per le valige, costringendo a lasciare i bagagli sul pavimento. Ho soggiornato nell’hotel 2 volte e la junior suite, assolutamente di altro livello, seppure personalmente, mi piace avere un armadio in camera, piuttosto che gli abiti a vista. La location è centrale, anche troppo, piuttosto nel centro dalla parte più commerciale di Atene, caratterizzata dai negozi meno sofisticati e i ristoranti dei turisti ignari dei migliori spot in città, ma comunque a ridosso della Plaka e delle più importanti attrazioni. Il decor è sofisticatissimo. Pezzi scelti con attenzione e gusto estremo. Bellissimi i bagni e tutti i dettagli d’arredo. Peccato per le dimensioni davvero ridotte dell’hotel che lo accostano più ad un boutique hotel 4 stelle che ad un lussuoso 5 stelle. La colazione in estate è servita in una bella terrazza con vista acropoli a ridosso della piccola piscina. Nell’ascensore si sta a malapena in 2 persone, capisco che l’hotel sia ricavato da un palazzo storico, ma è un po’ angusto. Servizio svogliato, poco empatico. Un po’ con quel mondo di fare autoreferenziale e strafottente che non ti fa sentire ospite gradito

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Orthodox Easter weekend and it was fab. Spotlessly clean. Friendly, helpful staff and a central location surrounded by bars and restaurants. An easy walk from all the main sites makes it a great base to explore the city. We had a room with a balcony and a view of the Acropolis and had breakfast delivered there every day. Very comfortable bed and quiet enough to get a solid nights sleep … even with the Easter bells chiming! Recommended.

Well, well, well, what can i write or say about this gem. The Electra Palace Hotel, located bang in the middle of downtown Athens is absolutely superb. Everything the city has to offer is within walking distance from the hotel. The view of the Acropolis from our room is spectacular, not to mention the to ”die-for” view from the 8th floor restaurant - you can ”touch” the Acropolis from here!😄 The breakfast at the Electra Palace is top notch and is delicious. The service at the hotel is top notch, and one of the best I have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling. The staff, from the concierge to the receptionists, and restaurant staff, all provided extremely high professional services. I will single out George, the receptionist, who made us feel extremely welcome with one of the biggest smiles and professional services I have ever experienced. George has a saying each time we interacted with him, and it was ”each time you smile, good things will always come your way.” This saying came through when George found my brand new Samsung Ear Bud after I lost it and the hotel began a whole day of searching inside the hotel and outside at the restaurants we visited. Thank you, George, you're the best. Also, Dimitris, who helped us with our luggages was fantastic. All in all, Electra Palace Hotel is a superb hotel, and we will definitely go back there.

I was here for a series of business meetings, which were held in the conference room on the ground floor. The room was compact but enough for a business trip. I could see the Athens Acropolis from my balcony! The room was well equipped with a good desk and plenty of power points (European). The bed was large and comfortable. There was a range of pillows available and I slept well. I used room service twice and had breakfast in the hotel. The food was good and service rapid. Otherwise I ate out at a number of good restaurants, all within a short walk from the hotel. The minibar was well stocked, although no diet drinks. There is a coffee machine in the room, which I did not use but my colleagues said made very nice coffee. The bathroom was a good size and there was a hand held and a deluge shower head. I used the overhead deluge and the water was a good temperature. The hotel supplied plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner as well as moisturiser. There were plenty of towels. Check in was fast and, as I arrived early, I was reassigned to an available room. The portering and reception staff were very helpful and provided some good advice on where to go first. The Acropolis, Plaka and Flea Market are a short walk away, as are a myriad of tourist stalls. The Hop on Hop off bus is also nearby. All in all a nice hotel that is well located.

I traveled here with my sister and adult daughter for a short stay before a cruise. The location is amazing. Hotel is located in a quiet area not far from Acropolis Musem and hop on/off bus stop is 2 blocks away. We had a lovely view of acropolis from our balcony, and I had mentioned it was my daughter's birthday, so we were given a nice fruit basket with other goodies to celebrate. There are a few restaurants nearby and a bakery which has excellent sandwiches. The included breakfast was very filling and offered eggs, sausages, several varieties of breads and rolls, fruit, awesome yoghurt, spanakopita, cereal, juice, and numerous baked goods. The room was very clean and had some storage and a mini fridge. There is a rooftop deck, but the stairs are very narrow. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with offering advice on things to see and giving great directions. The area is very safe and the hotel provides maps and access to guidebooks in their lobby. I would stay here again.

For us, we could not have chosen better. The view from room 102 was amazing. Open the curtains and there is the Parthenon on top of the Acropolis. We watched the sun come up over the Parthenon and the colours when the sun set was also amazing. During breakfast, we look one way and there is the splendid Agorra and the other way the Parthenon. Food was lovely, both for breakfast on the terrace and in the roof top with a view restaurant. The staff were lovely, especially Ares and Isha - their English was excellent and they always greeted us with a smile and were so welcoming. Check in was easy. Breakfast ran from 8.30am until mid day. Clean towels, bed made and bathroom cleaned each day. The only thing we would say, as a British couple, is that there was no kettle, tea/coffee in the room (despite this being mentioned in the description). Having said that, drinks were available all day downstairs in the bar area if we wanted it. The hotel is surrounded by various restaurants, yoghurt bars, trader stalls, parks, historical sites. Everything is within walking distance and so convenient.

The Altar Suites is a little hidden gem! Rooms are beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. The staff (especially Roula) were all so friendly and eager to assist in any way possible. The view of the Acropolis from our balcony window was amazing! Amazing restaurants, shopping, and almost everything we needed was all within walking distance. We booked 2 rooms in this hotel for a small get away to take in some Greek history and culture. It’s a small hotel in a quiet pedestrian precinct with amazing views of the Acropolis. It’s not a fancy 5 star hotel but it’s clean and comfy, great value and with some very helpful staff. Welcoming, friendly and we couldn’t ask for more. We love it and will be back. Nothing seems too much work d you ask and for only 2 Euros you can get a coffee. Highly recommend if you like a friendly and comfy hotel based in a lovely area and great situ for sure seeing and eating.

My husband and I stayed here for the length of our stay in Athens during our honeymoon. The service was so great; the woman who let us in was very sweet! We had a little bit of a hard time finding its exact location, but that was more our own fault than anything else. I will say, the elevator is a little tight with luggage, but overall, the room was clean and beautiful, the view was nice, the staff was very friendly, and the location was fantastic. We easily walked to many great restaurants, tour pickups, and sights. When we were leaving, we had a really stressful situation, as we had accidentally booked the car pickup from the hotel to get to the airport for the wrong time. The owner of the cafe downstairs was extremely kind and helped us speak to the car service in Greek and made sure we made it to the airport on time even though he didn't have the best English. Incredible kindness and hospitality, and it was VERY much appreciated. I don't know if we would have made it to Paros without him! A tip: we booked a food tour with Rachel and Michalis through AirBnB experiences that begins a 5-10 min walk away at Monastiraki Plaza, and we can't recommend it enough!! One of our favorite parts of the whole trip.

Though most of this establishment are private rooms, I stayed in the 8-person dorm, so that is what I am reviewing. While this hostel was very clean and well serviced, it isn’t as good as some other hostels I’ve stayed in recently. The beds were not the most comfortable, though I did sleep alright on them. The beds are completely in the open, so there is absolutely no privacy at all. Also, there are limited electrical outlets, so, depending on how busy it is, you might be fighting for plug space (fortunately the dorm was less than half occupied during my visit, so it wasn’t much of a problem). The dorm does have one, ensuite bathroom, which I imagine results in queues during the busy season, however it is very clean. Lockers are available outside the dorm room for your bags/valuables. The dorm is located on the second floor, over streets which are quite busy late at night, so you will hear the din from the crowd below (light sleepers beware!). Two of the best aspects of this hostel as it’s location and rooftop terrace. Five minutes walk from Monastiraki Square, everything you want to see in central Athens is a stones throw away. The rooftop terrace is absolutely wonderful, with magnificent views of the Acropolis and the old city. A great place to enjoy a few beers in the evening (and a killer sunset), a coffee in the morning (with a terrific sunrise), or just catching some rays in the afternoon. See photos. For the location and terrace alive, I’d stay here again…but would probably opt for a private room.
