Excellent new hotel in the waterfront area of Auckland. Rooms are immaculate and the whole experience is bar raising at this hotel.

Sofitel Auckland We arrived at Sofitel Auckland 2 days after the drive staying Auckland floods of 28 January 2023. The hotel had been heavily damaged and affected and was not operational. In spite of this we were received and offered sanctuary and shelter while the hotel staff followed some very well executed businesses continuity processes. We were met by Karim the concierge who invited us in sat us comfortably in the lounge and provided drinks while the assistant manage Lucy’s went about sorting out our repatriation to the JW Marriott. Stephen Gould the GM introduced himself to us and advised he had arranged a car to take us the the JW Marriott as the Sofitel was unserviceable. The staff were professional apologetic and polite. We had every confidence they had the situation under control. We felt very safe and comfortable. We finished our drinks and hopped in the car to leave. We felt very grateful for their professionalism and sorry for their suffering. We hope they get back online very soon. We will be back. Thank-you Stephen and Sofitel Auckland you made a stressful situation so much better while you were yourselves enduring a stressful situation.

I booked out this morning from The Sebel Viaduct and it will be the last time I book out of here. I have stayed several times over the past years and this stay was a disappointment. For the room rate charged, some nights AUD$348.00 I expect a room that does not have a cracked sink, swollen door on the bathroom and tired paint with chips and marks. The room was clean and the cleaning staff do a great job sprucing up this tired old hotel. Add to this a fridge that did not work correctly so the milk I purchased went off before the expiry date it was a poor performance. I do agree with other reviews staff are friendly however more should be provided for the price. Add to that $38.00 a night parking and then want $40.00 for internet access which I did not pay as an Accor member but would have if not a member you have lost my patronage. Certainly not a silver rating, even room service stopped at 9;00pm so could not make use of that.

Nice clean n good hotel rooms The checkin and checkout was super smooth Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Auckland for sure.. didnt try their food services though would have loved to.. maybe next time
